Last night was truly a **** show as I predicted.

1st attempt. Qualified 6th. Someone barged their way on the inside (not bad to put me off track but I did have to trail brake longer than I anticapted. I get a 2 second penalty -__- 🤬. Then I hit that stupid wall on the last turn. Finished 10th

2nd attempt. Qualified 4th. Was up to 3rd before my first pit stop. Everything was going really well. Stopped for my 2nd stop and I still finished 10th while everyone in front of me did a 1 stopper :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Screw this race lol. On to Saradegna for me

I was in that final race. Qualified 5th and finished 5th. Nice driving from you, but when I saw you pit early I knew you wouldn’t stick around till the end. 2-stopper just wasn’t gonna work on this combo in the higher splits. I saw many try and fail. Better luck next time!

My race went really, really bad. I just got a new wheel on Tuesday, upgraded my DFGT to a G29. Even though I thought I had better pace on the G29 the race proved I most certainly did not. I raced against the usual group of folks, normally I will qualify in the top 10, not this time, P19. Right from the onset of the race, I broke way too early for T1 and I just kept dropping and dropping from there. Two big spins later and I was getting lapped :(. 2 Big spins is always going to be unrecoverable for me in my lobbies, bit since I was losing time to the back of the field anyway I just lost focus.

I am hoping that this result was from not doing my usual practice routine and not just a lack of pace with the wheel. Because my DFGT broke I had no wheel Monday and tuesday i spend getting used to the new one. I only did 1 28 lap simulated session before the race, normally I will spend a few hours the day before the race doing sim sessions, working out different strats ect usually more because I just love time trialing and pushing myself. My warmup pre race is normally a bunch of consecutive hotlaps under qualy conditions which I didn't do this time. I am going to drive the **** out of this wheel practicing for the next round and hope my pace is still there.

On the plus side, when I got lapped after my 2nd spin I was keeping up with the top 5 group, then on the last 5 or so laps I manged to unlap myself from P5-P3, but maybe they went to extreme fuel saving mode though, so I am still not convinced I still have the pace.

I am going to have to grind for the next bit I guess, gotta get used to this G29 brake, so different from my bungeed DFGT brake.

The 650S Gr.4 seems better than ever now that the Jag, Merc and Lexus got nerfed, so I thought I'd try it in Manufacturers last night. TT pace was amazing, the lap I did on Monday actually ended up 6th fastest in EMEA  Race pace wasn't going to be as good because of the McLaren's fuel weakness, so I had to do my best in qualifying.

I was greeted with a typical top split lobby, where, for the first time, having entered on 75000 DR, I had the number 1 on my car :scared: Qualifying was chaos as usual and I managed to do a pretty good lap (46.899), which meant I lined up 3rd on the grid:

Quite shocking to see my name up there among those guys  The first part of the race was tame, with everyone in a fuel saving train behind Coque and Adam. Lap 7 was where things first kicked off, as a Hungarian in a Porsche divebombed into the penultimate corner from 5th, hitting Calster into me and sending both of us into a slide. He went on as if nothing had happened, without giving us our positions back :irked: His divebomb caused a huge mess which ended in 3 people's races being ruined at the next corner, while Calster pitted. I continued in 4th place, still in the slipstream of the top 3. I dropped out of it 4 laps later though, as the slide on lap 7 hurt my tires. The rest of the stint was uneventful and I pitted at the halfway point, on lap 14.

I came out in 7th place, as Calster, a no-stopping Citroen and a BMW had jumped me. The Citroen made a slip up on lap 18 which allowed me and the BMW to go past. I got the run on the BMW coming out of the final corner on the next lap and went up the inside into 5th into T1. Calster's tires were going since he had pitted on lap 7, but I sat behind him for a few laps to save fuel. I made the move around the outside of T1 on lap 27. From then on it was just a matter of bringing the car home, and I eventually crossed the line in P4 to take 303 points :D Shame about the divebomb that cost me a potential podium, but I really shouldn't be complaining :dopey:

Yeah. First race everyone did a 2 stopper so I felt I should stick with what I knew. Also I'm hard on tires for whatever reason and the Lexus doesn't help. I saw myself sliding a lot and even when I tried not to I still was. Oh well. Can't podium at every race but I didn't lose DR either so it could be worse.

After racing yesterday, I'm sure that this is the worst GTS has ever been. Slipstream messed up the races so badly. Qualifying is about luck now and the slipstream train during races is making it so difficult to alternate positions. To make things worse, driving standards are also the worst I've ever seen now.

Did two races and it felt like a waste of time. Got blocked and then rammed on the first qualy. Second race I had someone on my tow that bumped into my car almost every lap on that last uphill turn.

Fuel information during pitstop was wrong too. Put more fuel than necessary to reserve some for the final stint but still ran out of fuel twice. Never seen this happen but I wonder if the BOP for the Alfa 4C messed up fuel calculation someway.

Considering making a joke account to race now because as it is, FIA races are not worthy even of my test account.

Well the Corvette had no redeeming features for round 5. Slow on the straights and poor on fuel.

First 3 slots were a struggle due to poor qualifying and in race 2 a spin before I had even crossed start/finish line.

I knew if I could get a decent quali I could muster a top 10 and in slot 4 I finally hooked up a decent slipstream assisted lap to start 6th. I had no doubt I would slide backwards due to the corvettes terrible fuel saving ability. Seriously in order to avoid refuelling (which you had to do to avoid losing a slipstream buddy) I had to shift at around 10-15%....I tested cars like the jag, nsx, citreon and Cayman and they could use far more revs than the corvette and still comfortably manage the fuel.

Anyways I tactically slipped back to 8th over the opening stint in order to save fuel and stay with lead pack. Pitted lap 13 when a 650s did in order to keep a slipstream buddy. When pitstops were said and done I was p7 with Mustang and alpha behind and a 5 second gap to 10th. Repeated same tactic by letting first the Mustang through then the alpha whilst short shifting like crazy and then spent last few laps in no nans land managing gap to 10th

So 9th place and 202 points. Felt like I had dragged a result out of the Corvette above its ability. It's actually a nice car to drive since the BOP update and pretty good on tyres but when you cant rev it out at all it suffers on the straights massively.

Currently 4th overall for Corvette EMEA

Not sure if I’m keen for the Monza Super Formula or not or be honest. I like the cars and like the track but a grid start? Damn that’s going to be rough.

I guess the slip stream and pinging off 6th gear halfway down the straights will be negated by the grid start at least. Qualifying won’t be so important.

Time to practice my starts.

Wednesday Report

Europe:
Back down to C/S after a couple of bump-infested Daily Races. Barely worth the effort.
Race 1: Door 13, qualified 13th, finished 11th for 27 points. (Clean)
Race 2: Door 13, qualified 16th, finished 16th for 17 points.
Race 3: Door 13, qualified 8th, finished 6th for 28 points.
Just couldn't do anything useful with the BMW.

USA:

Race 1: One and done again here!
Ironically (or appropriately) enough, on the day that the new Bond film's release was postponed, I qualified the only Ferrari (Door 3, in its No Time to Die livery) on Pole, in front of a Cayman, M4, Mustang, 2 RC Fs... with a gap of 0.207s after having my first flying lap ruined by P3 deciding to ghost on the racing line.

P1. Clean start on Softs and made it through Turn 1 without issue. The Porsche and BMW stayed on my tail, but I was slowly pulling away. I hate racing in the lead though, as I'm always wondering what will happen to screw up my race! Things got spicy on lap 5 as the Porsche pulled alongside but wisely braked as I turned in for the first corner as I was still more than half a car length in front. That allowed the BMW to take P2, but with a 1s penalty, so their positions swapped back. The Porsche closed back to me by Lap 9 and I decided that was the time to change to Hards and fuel, exiting in P5. A car pitted , so I was P4 on Lap 10. The Porsche came in on Lap 12 (S to M) and I passed a McLaren into Turn 1 to reach P2, lapping P20 shortly after. The Porsche also passed the McLaren. In came the BMW on Lap 16 (M to S) to put me back in P1.

Again, the Porsche drew alongside exiting Turn 1, but this time we made it through that and turn 2 side by side and I lost the lead for a split second. I was pulling away by Lap 24 when the Porsche pitted again (M to S), exiting in third. I lapped P15 on Lap 25, with a 5 second lead. Didn't stop me feeling nervous though! Ithen lapped P14 on the penultimate lap before winning by 6 seconds. My right front tyre in particlar was goosed - halfway in the red - which made corneing a delicate process toward race's end!

Pole Position, Clean Race and the Win for a whole 69 points, but my highest of the season. Three figure points are a pipe dream for me...

The best of the action occurs from the 12:30 mark (Lap 15 onwards).

I recall reading something somewhere on here that the 4C has seen that issue in the past, might be something ongoing

I predict half the field has 2s contact penalties after the 1st chicane . I also wonder how the racing will play out on a track with such long straights in cars that were already slamming the rev limiter in top gear at a place like Autopolis.

i am hoping the BOP takes care of this, similar to how the oval track BOP are different to normal BOP

It's the track not the car, happens with all cars, as far as I'm aware, and was the same for the previous Gr.3 event as well as the last Gr.4 event.

Had a short timetrial session(around 40 minutes in total for both tracks):

Nations cup - the combination is nice and fun to drive, hopefully the drivers will be decent as well, I am expecting troubles in T1. Managed to get a 1.30.9 in 20 minutes of practice, I think I can get under 1.30 till race time. Good feelings about this, I think I can improve my points.

Manufacturers: Well, it has been a short and very hot love story with Ferrari. I am speaking again: the Gr.4 car is a sweet piece of car, very fun to drive and enjoyable. Managed decent results in every race in the Gr.4(my best 3 races are these), but the Gr.3 is the hot/volatile bombshell who will try to kill you in every corner. Tried again to get some decent laps at Sardegna, every time i get to 2nd gear, I have a date with the wall. I only can keep the car under control on Softs and this would mean big handicap in the official season. Decision taken: I am not racing on Sunday and I will switch manufacturers for the season - just need to decide which would be. Porsche is a very nice combination(I am good with both cars), but I would like something not so popular. I hope that at some point somebody at PD decides to change the 458 Group 3 BOP, maybe it will not be as wild as it is now.

R6 Sardegna Roadtrack B II
Working on my chops among the windmills. I need to work hard as the last race pushed me down into B rank again :banghead:
Between the two laps in the videos I managed to shave 0.7 Sec.
The hot-lap I was pretty pleased with. I hope to be able push me down under 1:22 ....:gtpflag:

My second attempt was pretty much ruined by the idiot in the video.
I found a gap as he went too wide and we made contact as I passed him. Since he was on the outside he got 2s penalty. That seems to have set him off because after that he did nothing short of chasing me down and making sure my race was over. He succeeded.still managed to finish in 14th.

That was disgusting. I was in that race and it wasnt much better towards the front. Watched firsthand Mfrisas get punted. Up until that point Mfrisas had a great race. Would be nice if PD would penalize obviously dirty drivers with ban or suspension from fia events.

No such luck. Still slamming the rev limiter. Based on a practice lobby yesterday, you gain 1 mph extra in the slipstream (190 vs. 189). As soon as you pull out you drop back down to the same speed as the person you're chasing. The only way to draw alongside someone is to use the overtake button on acceleration - assuming they don't do the same thing to counter you.
Pffft........1:27.0......get out of town Fire. :)

Here I am puffing my chest out with a low 28 thinking I had some pace here. Doh!!
I thought I was doing good with a mid 1:29!
The Honda is the quicker of the two SF19s, right?
I'm using the Toyota regardless because I think it sounds better.

EDIT: Actually after doing another practice race, it appears that it is possible to draw alongside someone without using overtake. The slipstream feels more powerful than it has in recent races.

Dang. That was a potential win, in the last 7 laps.

Blessings in disguise. I disabled TCS too early at the start, I went right and right into the wall. Ricocheted and stayed on track in the right direction. That was good because of carnage at T1. Another good thing is, the car to the left of me, did the same and would have collected me at the start. The bad part of all that was, P1(gtplanet livery) had a bad start. Then, got jacked up by the galloping horde.
****IF YOU SPIN, GO OFF OR WHATEVER, MAKE SURE TO ENGAGE TCS. IT'LL SAVE YOUR TYRES****

Next 6 minutes I had a battle for 2nd with a "McLaren". Outbraked myself into T1. The McLaren got a penalty soon after. I lost 3rd, 4th. Got 3rd, lost 3rd and had a battle with the "Mild Seven Renault" for the next 17 minutes(10RM/7RS). It got a kerb penalty. I was released and only less than 2 seconds from P1 on the penultimate lap. Took it too easy at the chicanes and finished just behind. A respectful race for those last 25 minutes. The Toyota is always solid, but it was really good tonight.
