Can someone explain how the points works to me? I've entered quite a few races, the first week, placed top 4 got 20 points, second i placed second, got similar points, and last week I placed 1st and then only got 35 or something points, I'm so lost on how the points work

Last night in Nations was an eye opener on the points system... I entered the first 2 slots as A/S with DR~32K and SR99. After the second slot and a couple of 'mishaps' I was still A/S but now with DR~31K and SR88. Usually points for the winner in my FIA lobbies is around 175 points.

I entered the 3rd slot as only one of three A/S drivers in a field of D/S drivers! The win was only worth around 30 points! I assume because of the drop of SR and the collective strength of the lobby. I finished this race cleanly in 3rd and scored 24 points, but more importantly, recovered my SR to 99.

So back to the 4th slot and things were back to 'normal' in an A/S lobby with a win in the 175 point range.

Moral of the story? Stay at SR99 if you want maximum points!

Can anyone tell me just the points given to each position at the end of a race? For example 8th place are 10 points.
I know I can see it in the race details but I can't access to the ps4 now.
I've been searching through internet and I don't find it.

Yay! I wasn't an idiot this time! Unfortunately the race was still pathetic. I got punted at the first hairpin down to 19th after qualifying a terrible 14th. I had a feeling this race wasn't gonna be worth it, and I was right. I barely scraped a top 10 finish (10th) for 120 points. Still not good enough to be worth it, so I'm going again and hoping I can avoid being an idiot for 1 more race...not likely, but I'm gonna try it anyway...
4th race is it for me tonight. 11th with 137 points. I qualified 10th and had gotten up to 6th before the pit stops, but I guess everyone took way less fuel than me and in the end I came out of the pits 12th after everyone cycled through. I made up 1 spot after someone spun off, and stayed as the last car on the train from 6th to 11th until the end. For once I didn't do anything stupid, so I feel like this was the most I could get out of the Corvette today (although another Corvette finished 3rd in my race).

Could of had 5th if it weren't for a 2 second penalty, but considering my luck tonight, I'll gladly take this.

As we've been discussing, the points payout is going to vary depending mostly on the strength of the lobby. I'm generally ranked A/S with DR~33K and SR 99, and wins are typically *around* 175 points when I'm in a race of similarly ranked drivers. Sometimes a few higher, sometimes a few lower.

A good friend of mine is typically ranked high D/S or low C/S and usually sees around 25 points being awarded to the winner in his FIA events.

Ok, that makes sense but I think is a good idea that the points system be written and available in some place.
Thanks anyway. It was helpful.

Man I must suck at saving fuel. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’m guessing I could have rev’d it a little more and saved the same amount while being faster. Also, I need a TGT because toggling the fuel map is so much easier. I’m scared to do it too often. Anyway, decent result in 2nd split. Got my best lap ever on this track in qualy, without slip, started P2 behind a regular top splitter. Took the lead early and was basically under pressure the whole race. P3 dived on me accidentally on the 2nd stint and gave me a penalty, but he gave the spot back, good on him. In hindsight I guess I should have saved more fuel but I’m also glad I avoided most of the traffic. 225 points was enough to improve my score so I’ll take it.

Race tonight was borderline perfection. The Huracán is great for this kind of race and I love these more strategic races.

I had #17 on my door and even though my qualy didn't go as planned, I started P8 and it ended up being a race of two very different halves.

First 8 laps were cautious, focused on fuel and tire saving. I picked up a couple of places from others mistakes and kept my cool until everyone pitted, then it was game on...Two qualy-laps, pushing hard and using up fuel and tires. I pitted lap 10, with a lot of fuel left (around 1.7 laps worth) and fairly new tires.

Got out of the pits in third, right on the tail of P2, who I followed until lap 13. Passed him in the beginning of the main straight and started chasing P1 with a lot of fuel left and what felt like brand new tires.

From lap 13 to 16, I managed to shave a 4.7s gap down to 0.5 until I made a tiny mistake on the last turn's exit, ran a bit wide, caught a bit of gravel and had to give up the fight. The leader ran out of gas and I almost passed it.

Hadn't been for that small error, I'd end up winning the race, but I didn't mind. The race was so much fun, the combo and the multipliers were so well balanced, I can't complain about anything.

What.A.Race!👍👍

Ran all five slots for todays manu at sardegna. Dr a/s lobbys. Half the competitors using the race to learn the backwards track. Thought i was at monza with all the dirty racing. Been racing the fia series since it started, maybe two years now, and this track, penalty, competitor combination is the worst i have experienced. Hope things change for the real season

With 80 races for the season, I bet this combo will return.

It took 3 attempts to get a decent result. It was basically my qualifying pace that was holding me back and realised that I'd need a slipstream to get a good place on the grid. In my 3rd attempt we're all fuel burning and I see a Porsche take off, so decide to go with them to guarantee a slipstream. Of course they then bin it at the first corner  Fortunately a McLaren had gone with us and he bumped me (accidentally) at the long blind left hander and by way of an apology gave me a slipstream on the next lap, putting me 5th.

The race was a bit of a non-event. Just fuel saving while staying with the cars in front. By the time pitstops start I'm in a train of 10 cars (still 5th). I'm one of the last to pit but come out in 5th with enough fuel to push a little and chase a Viper for 4th place. On the last lap I try a move at the right hand wall o death turn but can't make it stick. Happy with 5th, but looking like I'll lose my S rank for the start of the proper season unless I can get a stonkingly good result at RBR or Nurb GP.

Nice livery!

Manufacturers Pre-Season Race 6 - Sardegna B II
It was a tough day in the office. The first race was very strange. Crazy oversteer and it felt my brakes were biting too hard. Unfortunately I was live streaming that abomination of a race.
Well, up on the horse again and I enter two slots later. This seemed to be a better lobby as I had 20 on the door. Now the car felt fine and I could get me a qualifying time enough for 16th.
BUT, the first turn was a mess as several of us went off with the cold tires and then in the down hill, a few more ...
In this first stint I did two big mistakes. As I come out of the pits Im very even with a Mazda and we start to chase for the next 8 laps.
This part of the race was really enjoyable, so if I was you I would skip to that part in the race.

15x Tyre wear at Red Bull Ring on softs? :scared:

Yeah think I am washing my hair that day.
I believe the Nations round at RBR last preseason was exactly these same settings...only difference this time is that there's 1 more lap and no requirement to use all 3 tires. I still feel like this'll be a 2-stopper though, at least for me. I was only able to get 6 laps out of the Mediums in the Nations race here last season, so trying to do 11 laps on the Hards isn't gonna happen.

The RC Fs will leave me for dead. M4 is good when I'm lapping... Alone... on RSS... with the blinds closed... and a tub of chocolate ice cream... Yeah, for those lonely nights when she hasn't called me back.. wish she called me back*sniff sniff*...

This is usually the space where I bring up my latest FIA races. Unfortunately, a physical ailment knocked me out not just for yesterday but for the foreseeable future. I am worried that my 2020 FIA campaign is in jeopardy but I'll have to wait and see.

Decent weekend all-in-all.

Nations Round 6
Super Formula is not my best racing group, and oh god that turn 1!

On the first attempt I qualified P6 and started on Mediums with the intention of going 5M-6S-6S. I was a tiny bit off on my braking into turn 1 and gave the cars in front a bump. :boggled: Then the car behind me gave me a solid bump. The combined collisions led to the red barriers behind the chicane being pushed onto the track after turn 2...

And that was a bit of a nightmare. When I got around turn 2 there was a barrier that I couldn't avoid. The car got stuck on it and wouldn't go faster than 30-40mph. I eventually got off of it after receiving a solid punt to the side, sending me off onto the gravel. By then I was at the back of the grid.

I managed to work back up to P9 in the end.

On the second attempt I qualified P11. I tried to sneak around the outside of the chicane but it was still bumper car central, although this time I came out better off. I was fighting for P6 on a 1-stop strategy this time, but got a 2 second penalty at Lesmo 1 toward the end of the race. A German made a move I didn't expect and I squeezed him. That dropped me down a few positions.

I could have finished P8, but an Italian didn't take kindly to being overtaken near the end of the last lap and deliberately slammed into me at Parabolica to push me wide and regain the position.

P9, 106 points. Not enough to count towards my season and I couldn't see things getting better so I called it a day.

Manufacturers Round 6
This was a good one. I had to adjust my display settings though, couldn't see a damn thing through sector 1!

I got a "tow" from another BMW during qualifying after catching up with him during my first flying lap. He was much slower than me so I had to abort my second lap before turn 1, but the first lap was good enough for P4 so I was very happy. :)

I was a little sloppy during my first few laps, causing me to drop to P5. A Jaguar had pushed (quite literally upon watching the replay) his way up from P12 and was fighting with a Mercedes in front of me.

At the start of lap 5, the Jaguar was on the inside line going into turn 1 (or is that turn 2...?) so I braked into the normal line to go alongside him on the outside. The Jaguar then moved across in front of me without warning in the braking zone and I went up the back of him as there was nowhere for me to go. :indiff:. That led to him taking the Mercedes out as well, so I moved up to P3.

Thankfully, no penalty given for that. I pitted in at the end of lap 8 for fresh tyres and found I'd been doing well on the fuel saving. I had 24% left and the cars behind me were pitting with 1-15%.

I got a scare when I emerged though as a Toyota jumped me in the pits as he was on top of me on pit exit. I thought I had lost a position to someone who had managed to save a LOT of fuel, but then discovered he had forgotten to refuel when he went into the pit lane again on the next lap!

It was pretty much a straight drive to the end from there, sitting with a 4 second gap in front and behind me.

P3, 148 points. My highest yet, and a very healthy replacement to the 101 points I scored at Spa playing damage control. :D

On to the next ones! Hoping for a good result at Red Bull Ring.

So just to check something (excuse if I am Captain Obvious) but I take it the S-FR Racing Concept is the only car I should consider
for tomorrow's nation's race or is there any alternatives?

The last time I went for using this car I ended up against the F50 but that doesn't seem the case this time?

Have not 100% decided if I am gonna actually enter the race as it's a busy week but although I love to hate this car when I speak I kinda do enjoy driving it plus it seems to have a new surge of liveries appearing and there's one I wanted to show off.
