It's kind of funny that the guy may have had no idea what he was doing, and BAM!... his lap is #1 and posted for all to see. No fault of his!

Completely agree. I saw calls for the driver to be banned on Twitter and it made me cringe. I feel like drivers get antagonized for finding PD's errors too often. Plus it's just a hotlap for an FIA race, no real harm done in the end.
 
I like how even though the car has more power than it should do it's still a terrible lap

I suppose this answers my complaint of "why do they turn on BoP for one make races?" - it would break something.

They have no issues setting power and weight limits without BoP in the tuning TT’s though.
 
Wasn't expecting much going into the race yesterday as pace didn't feel too great, and my quali lap wasn't the best. In the end was 0.003s ahead of @pantherjag and 0.009s behind a Gr.4 Jag. Decided to start on hards as I knew the Jag will struggle on front tyres and I'd have trouble getting past. After some shenanigans up ahead I was first of the pitters on lap 1 and so I went onto softs as I knew I'd be in clean air thanks to the long pitlane. After that it was just about pumping some laps in though I didn't feel as though I drove too well but managed to keep it on the road. Got stuck behind a couple of battling cars for a couple of laps which ended up holding the 3 of us up but luckily it just about didn't make a difference to the result in the end. Once all the pit stops panned out was surprised to see myself as high as I was and brought it home for a pretty good result



On another positive note, I managed to hit 60k DR for the first time, not that I've been chasing DR or anything on this account but nice to see anyway

Came in last. Lost 1500 DR in this race.. Never trying that again. :lol:

It doesn’t work on the last lap either, even if your pit box is before the finish line.

I think a lot of us have had that 'genius!' idea at one point or another... only to find the same problem.

"I know... I'll just duck in before the start and throw off those hards... and then take off from there on my M and S tires! Sure, it'll set me back a bit, that's fair, but then I'll make up the time during the race on the faster tires, and avoid the calamity in turn 1 at the same time! It's just like starting in the pits in F1... so it's gotta be legit!"

Same as in Daily races, so don't try it there, either!
 
So could one do a no-stop for both of the next races, and if so, would it be worth it? Also, I’m still curious about what the Hyundais are good for, seeing how they keep appearing at World Tour events, And why they don’t actually do well at those events. I think somebody before mentioned that it depends on the track.

Also, for that Laguna Seca race last night, I was using the Hyundai, and my lap times were usually around 1:29 or 1:30, is that any good? I didn’t qualify well at all, either, usually being in the last quarter of the field, so maybe the Hyundai just doesn’t do well at Laguna Seca? Or could the Hyundais use a further buff via BoP?

Sounds a bit similar, I think my laps were 29s and 30s. I wonder if it’d help if both cars (or maybe just one) were buffed further, such as with less weight? Or could it be possible that their strength is that they’re more all-rounder sort of cars?
 
I could not for the life of me get a qualifying lap in clean air at Laguna Seca yesterday with two attempts.

Race 1: Q13, finished 6th
Race 2: Q~10th, Finished 10th

In my second Qualy round, however, I absolutely destroyed some poor guy's lap. Approaching the Corkscrew, I was behind a GT86, when a slow moving Porsche is coming up. The GT86 passed them out, and I assumed the Porsche would let me by too. I had committed to the overtake by the Porsche sped up, meaning I had to dive on the inside of the corner, before t-boning the poor GT86.

I noticed everyone in both races were driving very clean surprisingly, which meant a lot of good midfield battles. In my second race, I was battling with the leading pack, and stupidly thought I could go around the outside of someone going into the second right-hander. I was hooking that corner up perfectly all day, but lost 13 seconds spinning out in the gravel because of that move.

Had my first FIA win on the weekend however, so overall still content with the Series so far!

For Manu, you might be able to squeeze 11 laps (essentially 10.75 considering where the pits is) but with 2 mega long straights, fuel saving will likely just kill your chances of maintaining pace.

Pit loss is about 20s with changing tires + refuel. If you can FM to the point of not losing >1.5s off pace, then a 0-stop would benefit you but that seems rather improbable.

There is zero chance at a 0-stop in Nations as the Lambo goes through a full tank of gas in about 8 or 9 laps. You sure you had your settings right for Nations? There's no way you should be in danger of running out of fuel with only 2x fuel consumption.
 
It sure seems like they did fix it.

A Japanese twitter user shared this demonstration.

The glitch was enabled by going to the Garage->Change Car Settings, min/maxing weight and power, and then change to the Drift tab(?!) before exiting. I could get it to work about an hour ago (out of curiosity - I'm not a cheater,) but can't anymore, thankfully.

You made a good decision regarding the jaguar at the beginning. Held me up badly at the end of my first stint which probably cost me getting out in front of you and WRX after my second stop.

I was a bit like you about this race. Wasnt confident in my pace and went for the maximum fuel saving strategy. Was quite happy with 6th and getting this race done in one shot. Good result for you getting 4th from 9th on grid. gg

Anyone chose Dodge for this season?

Feels like garbage. Everyone has speed except me. I'm far from the best drivers around, but even I feel something is not right. Or it was a bad decision from the start?

Some time ago I was building DR with it. Or I'm in higher DR and can't keep up..
 
Manufacture race: What is it about people who fell they have to race you during Qualifying??? It's absolutely STUPID. It not only kills your time but don't they understand it kills theirs also. I was on pace to Qual 3rd in a CS room, then bonzi at turn 2. Ended up 11th and finished 3rd. Took my points, one and done. The penalty systems is....well i'm going out and beat my dead horse.

I wonder if some of the Aliens will lose interest in the season now that there’s really nothing to race for? It seems like a lot of them had come back for the real season.

That rule had been pointed out already soon after it came out. Why the aliens keep try harding, no idea. I'm limiting my hours but I do want to perform well in case they do give out something else.

I don’t understand either. You’re darned if you do or if you don’t: I have tried getting out ahead of the morons, but they close the gap on your out lap and end up divebombing you, leaving you no margin to them on your first lap if you let them by, then invariably they botch their own first lap, leaving you to encounter them all over again on your (now compromised) hot lap. Or if you wait, people are messing around so bad on their out lap that you can’t find a cushion of clean track to work within. So frustrating! And that’s before you have the intentional cheaters that try to disrupt your lap when they’ve set pole time first (yes, cowards).
 
Started: 15th finished:13th. Busy couple of days so was just running on the fly with no practice time or pit strategy. Relied on other drivers making mistakes as most do on this circuit but wasn't enough to get in the top 10. Hopefully things work out better next round.

Ah ok, thanks. Maybe they’re just farming DR then, trying to get to the new cap. FIA races are the best way to gain DR if you can do well in them, unless you live in EU.
