That was a great race. Rarely do nations but couldn’t resist this one as I love the Lambo Gr4.

Qualified 7th and started on Mediums to do a 7M/8H. Got through T1 without any problems but the the 2 cars in front touched each other and lost speed and I was able to squeeze past into 5th. Had a great race in a little pack with the 2 cars in front, swapping positions and taking turns to lead the slip stream. One car spun leaving the 2 of us. I settled into 3rd for a number of laps. Someone who’d opted to start on Hards had caught us up on his Mediums to join us.

I got a track limit penalty annoyingly on lap 12 and dropped back into 5th. Then bizarrely the car in front pitted for another set of Mediums on lap 13 letting me back past. He couldn’t catch me in time

Nations first attempt: Had a terrible qualifying and still started 12th. Was up to 9th after the first corner but ended up the loser in the penalties, getting 4 seconds for both forcing a car off the track and hitting another car. I don't know how. Ended up fighting with about five other cars in the opening stages which was really good - everyone was at pains to be clean and leave room.

I think I was the only person starting on hards, so once all the pitstops happened I was on lap 8, planning a lap 9 pit, and was in 6th by miles. I tried the no-stop. I finished 9th. I spent the entire race messing up the second chicane, which didn't get any better when I had no steering. It's like I've never driven it before. It feels so shallow and I just can't turn in right. I feel as if I'm losing at least a second a lap here, and I don't know why.

Manu first attempt: Qualified 3rd. Started on mediums and promptly binned it at the docks, obviously. I don't even know how to describe it. I went too deep, but it didn't turn at all. I also vastly over-estimated the life of the soft tyres and ran on them for far too long. I pitted on lap 5 and filled the car up, the fuel economy here in the GT-R is dreadful. Finished 8th, can definitely improve.

My first podium on Manufacture series (and I forgot to save the replay :banghead:)

So after one hour of practicing in a lobby I went to the Tokyo Manu race with my beloved Cayman. I managed to qualify 4th doing 2:05.x, I don't remember well, It was a B/S Split. I started with Mediums, a really clean start to be honest, everyone respect the other, It may be a bug in the lobby or something . I went between 5th and 3rd, battling against an Audi TT Rs and another Cayman until lap 7 when everyone stopped to refuel and change tyres. With the soft tyres I managed to get closer to the 2nd and 1st, another Cayman and an NSX thanks to their battle, they were losing time every lap. In the last lap I overtook the NSX through the tunnel and get the 2nd position. The other Cayman finish 1st at 0.7second ahead.

The race was very clean but very challenging because the top 5 were running almost at the same pace, so an error would be fatal.

Also I did the fastest lap, I almost forget It.

Manu first attempt: 203 points lobby with no practice, so I'm very slow. Have slipstream in 1st q lap but ruined the lap myself. No slipstream 2nd lap and started 13rd. Already shortshifting but still caught the one in front before T2. Both of us ran wide and I hit the barrier and that's it. Finished 18th.

Second attempt: 197 points lobby. No slipstream in both qualify laps but somehow qualify 4th!. Started on Medium and pitted on lap 5 and finished 4th again. Is it just me or the mclaren is awful on fuel? I have to refill to full in lap 5 and just managed to get to the line, admitted flat out, while the benz and cayman are refuelling way less.

Nations: Disconnected in 2nd slot, and my best TT lap is 1:46:xxx so didn't bother.

Gave the manufacturers race a try in the Jag but was pretty much as expected. Qualifying went badly, so ended up 18th.

Started on mediums, and pitted on lap 5. Did a nice move on the opening lap, and dodged a couple of crashes up ahead, so managed a decent first stint.
Changed onto softs, and got in a little train of cars so we were all moving at a decent pace without battling each other. Worked ok as managed to jump a few people when they pitted, and then it was just a matter of trying to hold on.

Race was dominated by a couple of Audi TT's and a few Cayman's, not that I ever saw them

Cornering speed on the Jag is pitiful, but straight-line speed is ok, so I ended up being a moveable chicane. Not exactly enjoyable and ended up in my now usual 12th place. Gr.4 seems pretty pointless in the Jag, but it is Gr.3 next so maybe it will be more fun

Not going to bother with Nation's as Monza just tends to be chaos. Good luck to all who try though.

Yeah, between the BOP nerfing and the latest handling update, the Gr 4 Jag has gone from my favorite Gr 4 car to the reason I'm never going to sign with Jaguar again.

Ehhh, I was just eaten alive at Monza:( Cant keep up the A drivers pace in this car... Now into Manu, not hoping any better, but who know, maybe all of them crash and die in flames, and I cross the line first;)

And nobody died in flames, 19th woohoo... In fact some russian was murdered by me, I think I did a favour for others, Ive learned last time at Laguna Seca, dont let dirty player get away with dirty moves. Now hes sendin me messages on psn, in russian:D

I noticed in the practice races that the Caymans were also good around Tokyo, which I just don't understand. They handle really well AND can keep up with most of the non-FWD cars on the straights?! No wonder Porsche draws in so many people.

My feelings exactly about the Gr. 4 Corvette. I've never signed with anyone but Chevy, but it's getting frustrating not really being able to compete at ANY track in Gr. 4. I'll have to try Ford one of these days...

I suppose it could be worse and I could be stuck with the Atenza in Gr. 4.

Penalties are really strange for track limits at Monza. Got a 1.5 second time penalty for marginally cutting turn 1. Yet people who completely cut the second corner of the first chicanes were getting 0.5 second penalties.
Ascari seems very lenient compared to the others.

My second attempt at Manu was fun. Put the GT-R on pole by 4 tenths. Thought for a brief, beautiful one and a half laps that I was going to run away, but no. Got swamped as I was tiptoeing the mediums around trying to save fuel. By the time I pitted on lap 7 I think I came out in 9th. The lap later a Porsche came out of the pits right in front of the BMW and Toyota I was following. When I tried to pass the Toyota on the right I hit the wall and got 1.5 seconds. I should probably have been able to beat all three of those cars purely on pace, so I was quite unhappy.

That Porsche however (who was the last car to pass me before I pitted, who put me in the wall at turn one in the process) wasn't done, as he got a penalty for hitting a BMW at the hairpin who moved quite late, I think because the car ahead of him braked a bit early. The Porsche didn't take it well and ended up literally rattling around the last few laps, pissing off everyone else in the process. I gained two places on the line after he and a BMW got penalties.

The Porsche that won was miles away and I know I'm going to struggle at this Tokyo layout when it's a fuel and tyre race for Gr.4, and it was clearly an alien who won, but I think with a bit less random understeer I could have been on the podium. Still, it's my best race of the day. One more go at Monza coming up.

How do you get 1:46? My best so far is 1:59.210!

EDIT: It’s now 1:58.523, but still. We’re both referring to the Huracan Gr.4 one-make at Monza, right?

Qualified 9th in my nations race, 1:58.711. 1.1 seconds behind pole, let's see how this race goes. Starting on hards.

Made it through T1 with no issues at all. Guy ahead ran wide at the final chicance and spun back onto track, didn't ghost and I smashed into him as there was a car alongside and couldn't go anywhere, down to P18.

Got back to P8, 3 laps to go, tapped the back of the guy in front of me as he braked really early for Lesmo 2, pulled alongside him on the straight as I got the better drive and he turned right and swerved into me, spinning us both out as we got to the bridge. Back down to P13 where I finished. SR down as well.

Might as well go again at 10PM and see if we can get better.

So... Manufacturer race: disconnected.
I'll try the last slot at 00:40...

Nations...oh my god. Worst race i've ever seen. Qualify: 16th place, both good laps got ruined by idiots.

Race... Complete chaos at the start, somehow i'm 6th...the guy behind me forgot to use his brain or something, doing the first chicane backwards was interesting i guess...
I got the penalty. This happened multiple times in different turns.
Finished 10th, fell down to sportmanship A... A complete disaster

I'll see how the first N American slot at Monza goes.

Well, whatd'yaknow? I predicted this would happen when my livery for the Huracan I realised I needed to buy for my alt account was taking an eternity to upload. I cancelled it so I could make the deadline with the default livery, only to get a black screen at matchmaking, followed by
Connection to the session has timed out. [NE-210B40B4]

I am destined not to enjoy myself tonight it seems!:banghead:

Farming Simulator is starting to look appealing again! Or perhaps loading up Just Cause 3 like last night to mop up the few things I never got round to completing. At least I can shoot my way out of trouble in that one!

Qualified on pole for my 3rd attempt at Nations. I followed a reasonably sized train around and it paid off. I went marginally too deep into the first corner but made it out, the Spaniard in 2nd, Dutchman in 3rd and Portuguese in 4th all made it through neatly, nothing too silly going on. I kept the lead for a lap before the Spaniard passed me, with the Dutch guy going past the next lap. I was the only one of the top runners to start on hards, so I wasn't bothered.

Lap 5 I went a bit deep into the first Lesmo and the Portuguese got alongside me. I was annoyed when he went for the move because it meant the Greek guy in 5th got to catch up and was now in slipstream range. The top 2 were fighting though rather than working together, so we were all still within range of the lead. I was quite surprised by the Spanish guy actually, he seemed a bit shaky when running at the front. I was generally quicker through the back half of the circuit than everyone else, while I lost time through the second chicane and both Lesmos.

Just watching back the replay now, on lap 7 I got a tap from behind by the Dutch guy into turn 1. Portuguese guy got a penalty for it as I was bumped into him. I didn't realise at the time, that was a shame. By lap 7 my tyres were going and the Portuguese, Dutch and Greek guys all pitted. I stayed out, following the Spaniard. We pitted on lap 8, coming out from the first corner of lap 9 running Dutch, Spanish, me, Greek, with the Portuguese having dropped off. We were still as close as we'd been, and the top two were fighting again.

Lap 11 was the best example of the Spanish guy not being very consistent. He was in 2nd going into the first corner and braked far too late. He then got reset pretty much closer to the exit of the chicane than the entrance, and the Dutch guy hit him in the split second where he wasn't ghosted. Looking through the replay there are literally three frames where the car is solid, which is where the contact happens. I'm surprised looking at this actually, I was sure the reset point for that corner was... you know, before the corner. Dutch guy went into the gravel, his race was done. The Greek guy ahead of me also went too deep, but ghosted just as he was re-entering the track so he didn't hit me.

The rest of the race was me following the Spanish guy and gapping the Greek, before my tyres went off on lap 13. I fell out of the slip stream, and finished 3.something seconds behind the Spaniard.

However.

I'd been so fixated on my own race I hadn't really been paying attention during the pits, but I was pretty sure the Spanish guy had gone from Medium to Medium. At the time I genuinely wasn't sure if I was imagining it or not, or if there was a glitch, but since I was pulling away from the Greek guy I thought it'd be smart to not push too hard on close to finished mediums since I was likely to win anyway.

Big up my man @Adam Barber for making me look beautiful. Always read the rules, kiddos. Spanish guy finished 17th.

Well, Nations was a waste. Qualified 7th in spite of a really sloppy session from me, got spun out of 9th in the 2nd chicane down to last place on Lap 3, Picked off a few spots, then got spun again at the Parabolica down to last place again. Gained a few spots and finished 16th... lost 1000 DR and got a worthless amount of points (obviously).

Now to see if I can get a semi-respectable finish with the Corvette...then try to not die in Nations Slot 2...

Can somebody remind me what the deal is with the Hyundais? Namely, why they keep qualifying for World Tour events, but seem to do poorly in every one.

Nations Slot 1:
Well, qualifying went as well as I should've expected. Screwed up my 1st 2 attempts at a hot lap, then got behind the polesitter and drafted him for half the lap, and was apparently on for a pole lap myself, before he exited the lap and I slammed into the back of his car as it was slowing down before leaving the session...I'll be starting 19th of 19...race report to follow once it's over, but I'm not expecting anything good...

Edit:
Finished 12th in spite of being stuck fighting an Atenza with no pace and getting several penalties on my own just from being a complete idiot. Looks like I'm going to be here all night for both races. I'll probably end up with a DR reset just from terrible finishes alone.

2nd attempt at the Nations race, started 5th, finished 6th. Was battling for 3rd with another 3 cars with 2 laps to go when me and the driver behind both ran wide at Parabolica but he was carrying a bit more speed in and punted me into the gravel. Completely unintentional and he apologized in the lobby. Did get the fastest lap though which was nice.

First corner carnage again although it was quite funny in that the top 7 drivers all misjudged our brake points and slid over the chicane. How we all did it and all kept our places I don't know, looked in the rear view and saw more cars littering the gravel trap and some resets though.
