*sigh*

Qualify 5th, up to 2nd at the 2nd lap, then pinched into a spin between the Beetle and Viper on the downhill kink approaching the uphill Esses. And a 3-second penalty for good measure. Dropped to 15th, but fuel strategy helped me come back to 6th. Could have been a fantastic result without that.

I’m pretty sure I just threw away a win there. I started 4th, had a bad start though and dropped back to 12th off the get go. So I just laid back and saved a ton of fuel the whole race, enough that I didn’t have to stop until the end of lap 11. When I pitted I was in the lead with a 5.5’ish gap to P2 and only needing to take on 2 laps of fuel. But stupid me, I go ahead and change my effing tires! :banghead: Came out of the pits just in time to watch P2 thru P9 wiz past me down the straight. Oh well, it was still a fun race. I’m gonna try again. :)

First slot of Nations, I get this:

Ok. Lost a some DR, but ok.

First slot of Manufactureres, I start 10th, and was up in 8th. Last corner of the last lap and I get the same data loss error. Couldn't even get the print out of disappointment. Lost 4k DR if I add them up. So frustrating.

JFC, what a waste of a morning.

Nations was a track I'm very inconsistent at but I manage to qualy P12. Then the entire reason I chose the 458 - it starts well from a grid start and I immediately moved up to P6 - is wasted when I get pushed into the sand in the first chicane. I come out of the sand P19. My own inconsistency on this track keeps me from moving up too much but I get up to P14 then pass two people between the COD and the finish line when one runs out of fuel and the other starts sliding all over from tire wear. Somehow eeked out P12.

Manu was a massive cluster-🤬. I qualy P5 and it all went downhill from there. It starts with the obligatory punt in T1. From there it turns into one of the worst lobbies I've been in a bit. I got punted several times. Divebomed and edged aside several times. Of course, all of which come with track and collision penalties. I didn't do myself any favors by letting myself get steamed and refusing to give an inch instead of picking my spots. I got PIT maneuvered somewhere around L9 when I was already in the backmarker pack and finished the race P17.

Time to put aside the game for a day or three...

Bah! After trying to tinker with the Fugu Z, I’ve realized tuning is too hard for me - I’ll just skip those rounds. Good thing it’s just a couple of ‘em. I even tried Praiano’s tune, but I think that’s for when the car is at its stock power and weight, whereas for that round, BoP will not be applied.

EDIT: I’m hoping tuning will be better-explained in the next game, too.

Damn! I can't race when someones speaking to me. BTW have you considered adopting a dog?
Haha. And... are you buying a dog?
We are looking at it, but not now. Don't know what the hell happened and why it was suddenly important but she always seems to do something when there is a close race on involving the COD.

Cant really blame her as I bagged it on lap 6 on my own, then the 3 laps were all identical as I just turned in a hair early and bounced inside to out just enough for damage. Annoying as I threw away a run at my season high point score to end up with a season low.:banghead:

Still determined not to practice as I want to keep it silly. Still think I am accurately ranked anyway so all good. Only just realized watching @Tidgney stream today that no FIA mid week. Which sucks as this is my week to have those days off and I work saturday.:ouch:

so frustrating!!! during Manu race a Portugese fellow ahead of me got a penalty and after serving immediately swerved to the right where i was overtaking him. could not avoid hitting him and bumped him. Seemed i made a mortal enemy, in the next lap at every oppertunity he ran into me, ultimately taking me out and also an innocent driver in a cayman. Was in the back of the field then in a battle with an english fellow in a Lexus in what i thought was a good fight, but once i overtook him he started hitting my back and once beside me started swerving in to me, sending me in the gravel. at that moment i lost control, hit him back, both of us in the gravel and i quit the race. I hate it when i get mad and start hittting someone back but i just had enough of it.
not sure if i want to continue for the next rounds, seems so many idiots currently in the FIA series, creating liveries and doing timetrails is so much more peaceful.

and offcourse got a massive drop in SR...:banghead:

Wow, I can’t believe how slow the Gr.4 Alfa felt after the BOP changes. In the manufacturers I started and finished last, I just watched the whole field of cars disappear into the distance. Was this just a crap day for me or have they totally ruined it?
I only tried one slot today, it was demoralising enough.

No I don't think it was you, BoP really has done it dirty

I qualified better in that one, but I still mucked up the start and lost a bunch of places by T1. If I’d have had a draft for more of the race, I may have been able to finish a couple spots higher, but the leaders broke pretty away early and I was left to fend for myself for a lot of the race, fun race though. Congrats to @Winnie847 and @vvise on the great race! Always a pleasure fellas.

I did somehow manage to score pole without a draft though, that was pretty cool. :)

It’s not just you, it’s basically ruined now.

There are 2 Alfa drivers in Asia top split, they qualified 18th and 19th, and finished 19th and 20th... on a track that is a "handling" circuit.

Would not like to see it at a power track.

I can’t believe they killed it as much as they did. I used to be able to get into the top 15/45 over here with it on tracks it was strong at, but I was 2.8 seconds off pace when I tried Maggiore today. I’m used to being .5-1s’ish off the fastest guys, but 2.8 is crazy on a track it should be good at.

Nations went ok result wise, but was a bit of a mess at the 1st corner on lap 1 and 2. Lap 1 was the expected chaos with me losing 4 places, but on lap 2 there was a little pack just ahead of me squabbling, and then 1 guy lagged right in front of me, and when he started moving again I was bumping him into a spin. Picked up a 3 second penalty for it, so ended up just sitting behind a couple of Nissan's fuel saving. Nearly worked, as when I pitted I came out in 6th and proceeded to chase after the podium. Unfortunately for me I got a bit excited and ran out of fuel on the final straight so dropped from 4th to 6th, but still fun.

Then tried the manu race, got blocked in quali and then an Audi driver murdered me in the race. Ended up time trialling at the back and gained 4 seconds on the leaders so felt I had to give it another shot.

This time I managed to qualify in 4th (behind 3 Porsches), and after a mistake on the 1st lap, I was just behind the leader. Had a nice little battle with him, but as the race went on my fronts started to wear so I drifted backwards. Had another good battle with a 2nd Porsche, but couldn't keep him behind me, and on the 2nd time the guy went past the Ferrari behind him decided he was getting past as well no matter what and gently moved me off the corner. A lap later another porsche decided he wanted by and hit me (pushing me out of the slipstream of the front 3), and then another Ferrari hit me at the next corner, so I lost the rag and took revenge on the Ferrari driver (Shouldn't have done it because his move wasn't as bad as the others).

Then the race just descended into people punting each other at any slight opportunity, which slowed everyone down and so the pack swelled to about 7 people. Somehow I managed to survive the carnage and get a 4th position, but wasn't exactly the most fun race I have ever had.

Not sure if it is the track, the cars, or a combination of things, but it didn't feel like an A plus lobby to me.

So, ran the first Manufacturer's race slot, and honestly idk if it's my driving or the extra 30 lbs, but the Cayman with fuel in race conditions just felt sluggish. I messed up my qualifying lap so I qualified in 13th. Right off the start the Jaguar behind me rockets forward and passes, followed by an Atenza which punted the Jaguar. I squeeze through the gap but still end up behind both. I get stuck behind the Atenza driver for several laps, unable to get a clean pass in, but when I do pass him, I'm not able to shake him. Eventually, some more cars catch up, and I get punted into T4. The guy apologized to me and slowed down at the moment, but it allowed more people to catch up. One of the guys who I always see in my lobbies and is fast got dive-bombed by the guy who punted me, but for reason he started to just ram me constantly. I'm not sure why; if he's still angry I accidentally shadow realmed him 8 rounds ago and that he ruined both of our qualifyings 7 rounds ago the guy can sure hold a grudge. Otherwise, he's now marked as an idiot in my books. Because he rammed me off the track I lost positions and ended up finishing 14th. I'm not going to run again because like I said, the Cayman and Maggiore just don't feel very good to me.

The 2nd Nations slot though was a much needed breath of fresh air. I decided to qualify in clean air. I got out of the pits 2nd, with 1st having a large gap, and luckily the people behind me started squabbling so a big gap opened up behind me so I didn't need to worry about anyone divebombing me or ruining anyone's qualifying. I ended up getting 2nd place; on my 2nd qualifying lap, I was purple through sectors 1 and 2, but I got too greedy through the Chicane of Death and binned it. 1st place was another 458. When the race started, thanks to the amazing starts the 458 has, both me and P1 made a good getaway from the group and escaped the usual T1 chaos. However, because DT Seaside is still not a strong circuit of mine, I was fuel saving, being conservative, and I messed up on the Chicane of Death a few times, I fell down the order to 8th place. However, everyone started pitting for a ton of fuel, and I found myself in 3rd place by lap 9. I pitted at the end of lap 9 and I jumped the guy ahead of me by 5 seconds; he was at 1% left and I was at 15% left. 2nd place was much faster than me and made up the 2 second gap by the next lap. I made a mistake coming out of a corner and the person behind, who was also much faster than me, almost caught up to me, but I managed to hold him off at the line to take 3rd place. The 1st place 458 had mastered the Dark Arts of fuel saving the entire race for a no-stopper. I finally got a decent result in Nations and my DR increased above 40k, so I'm taking a break from racing for a day so that way that score is forever memorialized on my stats since I feel like I'm starting to struggle now in the lobbies I'm in and my DR might dip in the future.

Race 9 - Lago Maggiore. (10 minutes race edit)
Came into this race with a goal to get 5th or better in order to improve my 4 best scores.
With 20 on door in this room it seems like and uphill battle.
The quali could have been better ...and I started in 12th.
Check out how it went - I edited this down to 10 minutes.

Please can someone tell me the quickest way to get my DR up Added another 5000 today and currently at 20k. Is there a secret of do I just keep getting clean good results. I want to start hitting some big points in the Nations. Also how many DR points needed for S rating

* Finish in the Top 10 overall in each race.
* Finish higher than your number plate's number

S rank is only given if you're in the Top X amount in either FIA Championship in your region. The number varies by region. I believe in order to be granted S rank, you have to be at least A rank.

Finally managed to complete a race! I think I made the boys at the Jaguar HQ proud. It was quite a race actually, started 5th and lost a couple of positions at the start. Managed to keep up with the group in front. The top 2 got away so it was basically a battle for 3rd. One guy had a RCZ, he was quite aggressive and changed his tires half way through the race, and still managed to finish 2 places behind me. A Scirocco and a M4 were in front of me for 8 laps. They started fighting and I took advantage overtaking the M4. Then the VW made a small mistake so I passed him too. But he kept up with me, breathing down my neck. Was a fun race, and I'm quite happy with the result.

Now a weird question: Are there any lyrics anywhere for the song that plays on the intro (Moon over the castle if I'm not mistaken)? Always wondered what they're singing.

Now I hope to not get DC'd on the last slot of Nations.

I’m glad it wasn’t just me, I accidentally ruined someone’s qualifying lap at the open hairpin at the bottom of the hill. I saw him behind me as I approached, didn’t think he could close up that fast, he did.

You don’t need to be A ranked, just need to finish within the top XX in your country/manufacturer or region. :)

I didn’t have much practice time for this race since I wasn’t sure I was going to get it in.

I ended up logging in about 20 minutes before the race, and cranked out some FP laps. The Jag felt great, and I had a little bit of confidence going in.

I had a good gap for my first flying lap, and set a 2:04.8. I ended up catching the guy I was following and just started coasting since I didn’t want to mess up his lap. I took the pole by about 3 tenths.

Then, I had the most boring FIA race ever maybe, since I essentially ran 11 laps on my own. I had a second plus gap early in the first lap and spent most of the race around 5 seconds in front of 2nd.

hard to complain though...win #4 for this round, and new points record for me, and a new DR high at 37.5k.

Oof manu race. Gr4 Maggiore is difficult with the wrong bunch. Qual was top ten since I waited everyone out...The race...
People battling going slow then I get the punt because the people behind can’t adjust...Stupid move after stupid move on my own and others parts...Oof.
Nations began similarly when on my first flier in qual some jabroni in a beetle dove up the inside. The race went fine tho finished top five. Most players at my level can’t handle hards very well, just drove by many as they took themselves out...

I’m in frustration mode right now..I will probably run another Manu just to see how it goes and recover my lost sr back to 99.
Peoples driving was terrible mine included my first try...
My fuse is very very short these days when encountering disrespectful players...

Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Let it go

Only had time for the last slot of each race today, and I just finished the last Nations slot.
Took the Corvette out today since it puts its power down out of slow corners better than almost anything, and it performed admirably. I could only qualify 10th, but I made it up to 5th or 6th by the end of the 1st lap, even though the lap was surprisingly clean. I was bracing myself for a torpedo off the port midsection into Turn 1, but we all survived. I then survived a divebomb at the 1st hairpin and after the 1st lap I settled into a rhythm, just out of slipstream range of the cars behind, and a couple seconds behind the pack in front. I slowly reeled in an Aston in 4th, and after the leaders pitted the lap before us, when we pitted and emerged on the track again, we'd both somehow gained a spot to 3rd and 4th. A lap later I finally got a run on the Aston going into Turn 1, and compromised his line for the 2nd part of the chicane, allowing me to undercut on the exit. From there I held both him and a Beetle that I'm fairly certain was the one that we somehow leapfrogged in the pits. I went from 10th to 3rd and 185 points, which is my 2nd best result so far. I also gained almost 1300 DR since I was car 20.

The winner was a no-stopping Mazda VGT that started on pole and won by 16s. About half the field was Beetles, but none of them finished on the podium, with the 1st Beetle scoring 5th. Top 5 were the Mazda VGT, a Supra, my Corvette, an Aston Vantage, and a Beetle.

Now on to Manufacturer's, and hoping the Gr. 4 'Vette can finally start pulling its (reduced) weight in the championship again.

Edit: Also, I'm about to be the #1 driver for Chevy in the Manufacturer's championship, since the only player ahead of me switched to Citroen. We'll see how long this lasts.Chevy definitely deserves to be represented by a much faster driver than me on home soil though.

I don’t ever plan to run an FIA race, but I still follow this thread because it’s very entertaining. One very big common denominator I have found in here is that the vast majority of people’s complaints revolve around other drivers hitting them/blocking them and BS penalties. The penalties is the thing that annoys me, even in the normal daily races for us scrubs down in D. Has anyone come up with an idea to penalize bad driving where it doesn’t get it wrong and penalize the actual victim? That is what this game needs, along with a realistic damage model and tire physics that are legit. It’s very rare to read a post in here where someone feels like they just didn’t have the speed and finished where they should have. Seems competitors are the main issue with getting a solid finish or not.

Well, guess what happened. I fell into a lobby with some good drivers, had an amazing qualifying lap and god DC'd again. Sometimes it's just not meant to be. At least I got the Q session recorded. Don't know if I was the only one to DC or if others did too.

Another disconnect for me in the only Manu slot I was able to attempt. Mine was on lap 3 of the race. Bummer, the Scirroco was feeling good.

That’s now 8 mid-race disconnects in my last 14 FIA attempts this season, and my 3rd zero-pointer for the Manu standings.

it’s really too bad because I enjoy the FIA races more than the dailies :(.

That sucks, and I feel you. I like them too, some good combos. 8 out of 14? Oh boy, that's real bad, and I don't know if that has anything to do with my internet, I'm wired and all. No DC's on dailies for a long time. So weird. Hope we have better luck on the next rounds!
