Rough one! And the foolishness started as soon as the light turned green and T1 was just as bad. The guy that caused you to spin on L12 was on a mission. My heart sank when I saw that. And he just kept on pushin.Let's just say I should've listened to the earlier reports. I finished P18 and P17, respectively. Got bumped, punted and spun around. Probably would've had a decent finish the second race, if I wasn't spun into the mixmaster L12. Not a fun day today.
Based on yours and the other reports, seems possible to climb from the back of field on L1 to a top 10, if you're careful. Hope that's my experience tonight, because I'm all but expecting to either get punted in T1 or lay back so much I may as well (though saving the SR hit if the penalty system gets it wrong, which is the norm). If running a smart and safe race, either in a no-stop fuel saving strategy or even with a splash-and-go, lends itself to a decent finish in the top half of the field, I'm good. Nervous that it isn't as easy as that sounds, though!
After reading the race reports from the Oceania/EMEA players here about this race, I was scared going in, but I decided to give it at least one try and see what happens. I was door #19 out of 20 in the lobby, so, at least if I get wiped out I shouldn't lose too much DR. This is the highest points lobby I've ever been in to date at 237 points, so I was nervous. However, @GTWolverine was in the lobby as well, so it was nice to see some fellow GTPlanet members.
Qualifying was uneventful. I was at the end of the pit lane and decided to leave last and see if I could catch any stragglers for their drafts. I ended up not catching anyone as people began playing the "no, after you" game and I decided to just go ahead and set a lap. Luckily, I wasn't towing anyone along, either. My first (and fastest) flying lap granted me 8th position, but at qualifying's end, I was starting 14th. Which, honestly, I was glad about, because it meant there was a lower chance of being wiped out into T1.
At race start, everyone gets off the line well. But into T1, absolute chaos reigned. I braked slightly too late. Luckily, the people ahead were already crashing so I didn't end up hitting anyone, also thanks to @GTWolverine seeing me coming in too hot and holding off on the turn-in. I luckily managed to escape the carnage, including being in a 4-car wide sandwich, in 8th without a penalty. I got slowed up by a GT-R with engine damage which meant I was swarmed into T3, but because I took a cautious, middle line, I kept 7th and ended up getting a nice little gap to the folks behind. At the end of the lap I inherited 5th as people ahead served penalties, and for the next 6 laps, I was just trying to not make mistakes and try to not fall into the clutches of the faster people behind.
Peep the radar when I was in the 4-car wide sandwich:

I forgot to start fuel saving until the beginning of lap 2, so I started shifting even more conservatively than I normally would. That, the people behind me being faster, and some botched corners, meant the group that was behind me that I was towing along caught up at the beginning of Lap 7. I was passed into T1, dropping me to 6th, and in the final sector, @GTWolverine was right on my tail. Coming out of T15, I almost spun as I got a little too happy with the throttle. I rejoined just ahead the pack going down to 11th, but still lost 7th place. 8th and 9th were right behind me. 8th served a penalty and 9th passed me into T1 on L10. I was content on staying in their slipstream to fuel save, but they pitted at the beginning of Lap 11, giving me a lonely 2 laps in 7th place.
I wasn't sure if I would make the no-stop work, so I ended up using a little more fuel, but then I realized I could make it. This was aided by me ending up right behind @GTWolverine coming out of the pits for fuel, giving me a little slipstream boost. I still did end up messing with the fuel map a bit to make sure I would make it to the line, where I ended up passing 6th place who ran out of fuel. Thanks to surviving the T1 carnage and mostly driving well on the no-stopper, I finished 6th, and because I was in a higher points lobby, this meant I gained 187 points, my highest points haul of the season so far.

Definitely not going again lol. Now to see if I want to do Manufacturers tomorrow, since I've never raced on DT Gardens Reverse.
So, I shall definitely be offing someone to night.
@Ashthebash Only made two spots on the last lap. One player binned it and I caught up. The other must have had a big penalty.
The NSX did feel good. I put fresh tyres on Lap 6. Had 52% in the tank. One of the GT-Rs pit same lap, had 55%. I'll go again.

Edit: This makes it look even worse! How the hell did he get Pole position with driving like this!!!
Hah! That was me in the Liquimoly GT-R. I had wondered what the hell the NSX driver was doing, didn't realise they had been rammed into everyone. That was a bit uncalled for, given how it ruined at least two other driver's race and cleared the path for me. Sadly I clipped the green strips on the final turn about Lap 5, and went straight into the wall, with big damage to the car. Pitted early to repair and refuel, managed to claw my way back to about 10th or so.
Never tried that way, and tonight won't be my first time! I simply won't race thatI thought today's race was Dragon Trail Seaside reverse and it's Gardens instead, which is even worse than the 'foward' corcuit. Damn, I was looking forward to that!
Hards felt fine in the m6
Me neither. I just tried it then and didn't even manage one lap as it's that unenjoyable. I can tolerate the normal version but no way am I sitting here for 3 hours learning the course to get punted off at the first bend.Never tried that way, and tonight won't be my first time! I simply won't race that
are you drunk?
Hoping in GT7, PD rethink Manufacturers. Please stick to RWD only. Would at least make it consistent with GR.3/GT3.
I want do Manu, but it's taken its toll me. Too much discrepancy between drivetrains. It's always been, but I'm kind of done.
I am too slow in this car... should have changed manufacturer when I had the chance (post 4C gr4 nerf).
I didn't lose DR tonight which is about all that can be said.
I had no trouble at all running the 17 laps on M's in the sim I ran (in my 911 RSR), and only needed a splash of fuel with the change to required H's, if I remember correctly (though it may have been no fuel). Friend in a BMW needed more fuel and to do it a lap earlier, if I recall correctly, saving me some time in the pits. Though, the overlap between M/H tires might mean it's possible to undercut people if short-pitting with 2 or 3 laps to go, to get those H's up to temperature and then attacking on the last lap.Somehow finished 12th in Manu. I say somehow, lots of people quit and one guy in a Supra ran out of fuel.
Your Porsches and Mercedeses were doing 17 laps on mediums, which I couldn't do in the GT-R. That coupled with the multi-apex corner being worse turning left than right means... well, waste of time, I guess.
