double post
And there's you pointing out up thread how you're sick of all the negativity that surrounds gaming these days. And here you are being negative about PCars. Go figure.Forza 6 could easily be running at upwards of 70 fps behind the scenes to accommodate for fps drops and not let the user see them, so there's your 2x difference, plus 1080p is 30% more pixels than 900p, plus the tracks in PCars are incredibly poorly detailed as far as trackside detail goes, I think that Shift 2 had better detail.
This other one at Spa, with way better video quality. Same race but cockpit view in replay.

PCars has a much better physics model, much better wheel support, it's a much better racing game and has dynamic elements.
It's locked to 60fps, not upwards of 70. 35fps also isn't 20fps, so your first post is still nonsense,
just like saying Shift 2 has better detail than Pcars lol.
I get that you really like Forza, but do you really need to bash other games to try and make you feel better about the one you like best? Like I said, Forza 6 looks awesome, but there's no need to make things up to try and claim one game to be so much better than it actually is.
Forza running a solid 60fps is great, but Pcars runs a solid frame rate when there's nice conditions. There's a good reason Forza has far fewer cars on track and no dynamic time or weather.
I also doubt the physics in FM6 are close to as complex as Pcars'.
I don't get the need of some people to bash one game to make another look better. It's like people in Pcars forum bashing Driveclub. They're two very different racing games doing very different things.
both FM and GT have great graphics with nice simcade physics.
Pcars has amazing realism in it's driving feel, and a raw racing style feel to the career that reminds me of the race driver series.
Driveclub has unbelievable visuals, and a photomode GT would be envious of, as well as a great car list, albeit not huge.
You're taking this way too far, PCars is definitely not a much better racing game and the physics are on par with Forza.
People are negative towards PCars because the game launched broken and is still broken in a few ways. They are also negative because the PC sim community is completely vile and PCars brings part of that community onto console with them.
I constantly hear trolls yelling about how PCars is better in Forza 6 streams for no reason.
You seem to not be understand a basic concept that Forza must be capable of running at over 60 fps at all times in order to run 60 fps locked at all times. He is saying that if they game were unlocked than it would run at 70 fps or higher because it must be capable of running 60 fps or better on average to maintain a locked 60 fps. NO this doesn't mean it's rendering above 60 fps when locked but it means that it is capable of doing it while unlocked.
This is an extremely simply concept and I'm surprised to see someone call it out on this forum.
How does his above comment have anything to do with preferring the track detail of Shift 2 over PCars?
Saying that PCars has poor track detail in comparison to other games is not making things up, PCars tracks fill empty compared to even Forza 5.
Forza 6 maintains a solid and locked 60 fps in ALL conditions.
There's a reason PCars on the same hardware can't even reach 900p and a locked 60 fps at all times.
With 20 cars on track and clear conditions PCars isn't even capable of maintaining 60 fps.(at 900p btw.)
Patch 1.04 still goes into the 40s on PS4 in the rain with 20 cars:
You can doubt until you're blue in your face but that won't make you right.
Coming into a Forza thread and talking up PCars in a Forza 6 gameplay thread isn't much better.
Forza Motorsport does not have simcade physics, if the physics in Forza 6 are simcade so are PCars.
It also has bad framerate, terrible controller support on a console mainly played with a controller.
Driveclub's visuals are completely believable and during the clear day in the game really aren't that impressive.
Lol if you actually believe that the physics of FM6 will be anywhere close to Pcars you are delusional. The game would run just as fast as FM6 if it had simpler physics and no dynamic weather or time. If FM6's physics were anywhere near as complex it wouldn't run at 60fps at 1080p.
The two videos you posted are pre 2.0 versions of the game. It's currently at 3.0 and runs noticeably better in all conditions on PS4, so it would on X1 too.
I actually came into the thread to talk about FM6, and commented on someone claiming out of nowhere that Pcars runs at 20fps. I'm not the one who brought Pcars into this thread.
FM has always had simcade physics, it's always been about on a par with GT games. If it was meant to be a proper sim it wouldn't have rewind. It's meant to be an approachable sim type game, like GT.
Driveclub's visuals are so far ahead of any other racing game right now that it's not funny.
Obvious bias is obvious. Enjoy playing one racing game,
while the rest of us enjoy what they all have to offer.
Also, where you said "There's a reason PCars on the same hardware can't even reach 900p and a locked 60 fps at all times" Yes there is. The reason is the physics are far more complex than you'll find in FM6. If it wasn't more complex, it'd run just as high frame rates.
What is modelled under the skin if you like in Forza ? Are tyres , brakes , engines , aero and suspension ? I like the look of it apart from the puddles which could be a little more subtle IMO but the car content interests me for sure .
And are the race lengths adjustable yet or are they 3 Lappers for the most part ?
Race length seems like it's going back to Forza 4 which will increasing ramp up over time in your career.
- Tire Heat with three vertical sections per tire.(Outer, middle & inner.)
- Tire flex that changes depending on the compound and tire wall height(can all be affected by tire traction, car weight, speed and so on.)
- Aero which includes wings, diffusers and more.(Also of course drafting.)
- Suspension modeling includes body roll, bottoming out, body stiffness and more.
- Engine includes all kind of upgrades from air filters to twin turbos and engine swaps.(You can also swap drivetrains.)
Thanks , my xbone has been gathering dust and with this and halo it might get the dust blown out of its gills !
No problem, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
You can. I use my Fanatec CSW V2 on PC, PS3, PS4 and Xbone. PS4 support is limited and upto the game devs to implement on a per game basis. It's a fantastic wheel but pricey. One thing that really bugs me is why can't we have a racing wheel which is multi platform or an adapter for my T300 !

Eh, that's where we'll have to agree to disagree, to me PCars feels like absolute garbage, and I'm not buying for one second that they truly threw away the physics from NFS Shift, made some adjustments here and there, but a lot of the time I'm having a dejavu of my Shift 2 experience. Way too often I'm left wondering what the hell the car is doing, apart from Formula cars everything else feels like crap to me.PCars has a much better physics model
How do you think locked 60 is achieved? It's running higher in the background, so when you have a lot of action going on it can drop from 70, but never lower than 60 fps. As games are unpredictable in nature you have to accommodate for worst case scenarios occurring at any moment, hence the framerate headroom behind the scenes. It's locked to 60fps, not upwards of 70. 35fps also isn't 20fps, so your first post is still nonsense, just like saying Shift 2 has better detail than Pcars lol.

Spoilers: you drive cars around tracks.I found this on YT for those that haven't seen it/don't mind spoilers.![]()
I meant career mode as in those who don't want to see the order of events..no need to jump on me.Spoilers: you drive cars around tracks.
PC sim community is completely vile and PCars brings part of that community onto console with them.

Can you explain this in detail? What exactly is subpar in Forza?Again this is opionion, FMs physics are sub par to Pcars, There are sims out there with much better physics than Pcars but its a no brainer Pcars>Forza in this context

I'd say that arguable the console community is much more vile, especially when comparing consol and PC racing communities. The console racing community is much more tribal and often divided along FM/GT lines. I see more arguments happen over the defense of their respective game then what goes on in the PC community. Personally in my experience the PC community is very welcoming and very happy to help.
Honestly, in those photos you posted I prefer the Pcars ones. The FM tracks look cartoony and the cheesy crowds don't do much for me either
I'd argue that there is a lot more going on, Forza always has a smoothed over look (obvious sacrifies to reach 60FPS)

Pcars controller support does leave a lot to be desired, but FM wheel support also leaves a lot to be desired
Okay. Cause my experience with both is exactly the opposite, playing with a gamepad here. Especially the road cars in PCars are abysmal to drive. And the fact that you can't do proper donuts tells me the physics engine is not exactly doing things right. Just my 5 cents. It's not that they're bad it's just that I personally think the physics in Pcars are better. For me anyway, using a wheel, I can feel the car a lot better, I get better feedback on what the car is doing and the car feels like it's behaving as it should. I can't pinpoint it exactly but all of this is there in forza but it just doesn't feel right, like its muted is probably the best way to explain it
Forza 6 still uses its 30Hz tricks so not really true 60FPS too. It also has even worse controller support IMO.It also has bad framerate, terrible controller support on a console mainly played with a controller.

All games use optimization tricks like that, for example transparencies always run at a much lower resolution than the overall frame, so for example having smoke that runs at 240p in GT5, does this mean that GT5 is a 240p game?Forza 6 still uses its 30Hz tricks so not really true 60FPS too. The road cars in Pcars definitely feel very off. But the race cars feel great imo, even for the very short time I used a pad it still felt better.
Also in my opinion using a pad in forza feels so much better than a wheel, but I still have the same thoughts about the physics
