Leave driveclub out of it, this game and fm5 look fantastic regardless.

What do you mean? I never said they didn't look great..PorscheHD said he plays Driveclub now and I gave him a quick comparison...he can judge for himself. Has nothing to do with you...

You told him not to get hopes up, that doesn't suggest greatness.

Like he's driving on ice.
Simulation steering? Personally I have no worries about my purchase since I have no wheel and FM5 had really good controller support.

New Forza wheel?

Gameplay still does not look right with a wheel. Surly T10 are still not putting cold tires on 1 lap races?

More ice driving?
I think the new wheel is just a Fanatec CSW V2 with the XBone hub and a one off forza branded rim. Can't see that rim on the Fanatec website. It's hugely disappointing to see and hear from Alan that things have not been drastically improved with a wheel for 6.

A hugely disappointing vid for us wheel users.

One point to factor in hope is that some of the T10 guys made reference to night races being colder and less grip? Is that part of the issue here or is it part Fanatec firmware issue?

Will be a "car crash" if FM6 being their 10th anniversary and not supporting wheel users with anything less than superb performance.

In terms of graphics, don't get your hopes up. Judging from direct-feed videos, Forza6 does not even come close to Driveclub, mainly with weather patterns and the like. However Forza is running at 60fps if that is important to you.

I love the fake standing puddles defying gravity up the incline.

Not sure on 5 and 6 but with two of xbox/ps3/pc wheels 3&4 i had that same problem like ice ,breaking loose for no reason but i had no problem with the pad in 3/4/5 so maybey its a Fanatec problem. i would love to know as i'm thinking of going to xbox for my racing as sony that i love still no support for sony racing game. Looking at a xbox one fanatec hub for my CSW v2.

You don't need large noticeable depressions to get that kind of reflective water buildup sticking to the road.

Am I the only one that sees a giant puddle just standing on the entire right side of the road and up the incline?

I just think the effect is really exaggerated in Driveclub.

That Driveclub photo is taken looking down a hill, not up one. That's why the puddle on the outside of track is where it is, due to it being at the bottom of a hill.

Anyway, Forza 6 is really looking quite nice IMO. GT7 will have to be pretty damn impressive, or it'll be left way behind it's competition.

I'm sorry but the part I'm referring to is the inclined part, if you're right about it being down hill at first than all the water should have pooled there and not spread across like it is.

Forza 6 is handling it much more realistically while Driveclub is just going "Hey look at the pretty puddles.".

I don't know why we are arguing about whether or not water pools at lowest point of a surface it can reach.

I think you're looking at that photo wrong. Where the biggest puddle is is the lowest point there. The road after that corner is flat, not on an incline. It's just shot at a downward angle. I would certainly hope Forza 6 handles it more realistically, as it's meant to be a sim, and the weather isn't dynamic like in Driveclub.

In any case, Forza isn't supposed to be attempting to look as good as Driveclub, as it's running twice the frame rate and trying to be more reliastic as well, so it's bound to fall short of Driveclub's graphics. A better comparison would be Forza 6 and Project CARS, and although Pcars probably has more sophisticated physics, and the time and weather is dynamic, Forza's graphics are clearly superior.

If you say so, this makes me want to boot up Driveclub and find this point in the track because it doesn't look flat to me.

I actually had this track come up in a tour series I was doing today, so I got some pics while I was there.

You can see here how flat this part is, and how steep the hill is after the corner. You can also see the slight curve of the road's surface at the edge, where the water was collected into that big puddle.

A wider angle from further back, showing the edge of the road as the lowest point there.

Then I got a pic from the same angle as the one that confused you, and you can see from this angle, as opposed to the last two, how aiming the camera down the hill can make the flat road at the bottom look like it's actually uphill. However, if you look around at the scenery, there's a few hints that reveal that we're looking downhill and not uphill.

Thanks for doing the leg work, man that angle is deceptive as hell.

Yeah for sure. Wasn't really any work, as I was already there in a tour event. It only took a couple of mins after the race to get a couple of pics. In any case you're welcome mate .

Back on topic; I've been following all this Forza 6 news, and it makes me a little sad that we must have Forza and GT exclusive to one system each. I can't justify buying both consoles, but I really want Forza 6 now :(. There will be quite a few features in Forza 6 that won't be in GT7 or any other console racer as far as I can tell, and that car list is looking very tasty indeed. As a big motorsport nut, I am drooling over the historic race cars! Damn it why can't GT and Forza just be multi-plat like Pcars! :banghead:

I think this is one of those cases where it's actually for the better of the game'starts quality. Forza wouldn't be what it is without Microsoft's buckets of cash, as unfortunate as that is. If it weren't a first party title I could see it, but what I'd really like to see is a PC port. MS seems to be pushing the games and apps side of Windows with 10, but Forza is a significant force when it comes to selling consoles.

imo, for a racer guy, xbox is a must-have console if only for turn10 & co

The fact you want to buy forza 6 justifies buying a new console :)

Haha you tell that to my mrs, who's the one who will have my nuts if I shell out for another new console lol. I have a couple of mates with Xbones, so I'll just harass them to buy FM6 :D.

I'll be pissed if GT7 turns out to be as big a disappointment as 5 and 6 were though. Although I bought the PS4 for more than GT games, there's more great games than I have time to play tbh. If I bought another console, with more exclusives to spend my time on, I may just end up single lol.

I would honestly suggest looking at what else is on Xbox One and coming to Xbox One as I also agree that buying a entire console for one game is a little silly.

Start with the obvious:

Forza Horizon 2 - Already Out

Halo Master Chief Collection - Already Out

Sunset Overdrive - Already Out

Rare Replay - Already Out

Halo 5 Guardians - This Fall

Rise of the Tomb Raider - This Fall

(Even more 2015 to release below in the also on PC list below.)

Quantum Break - Early 2016

ReCore - Early 2016

Gears of War 4 - Holiday 2016

Crackdown 3 - Holiday 2016

Scalebound - Holiday 2016

This is ignoring any exclusive also on Windows 10 that feature cross-buy and cross-play which include Fable Legends(This Fall), Gears of War UE(In a couple days), Killer Instinct(Already Out, next season early 2016), Sea of Thieves(2016), Dead Rising 3(Out), Ryse: Son of Rome(Out), Kinect Sports Rivals(Out, requires Kinect so on this list.), Halo Wars 2(Holiday 2016) and Ori and the Blind Forest(Out).

This doesn't even include Xbox One backwards compatibility with Xbox 360.
