I like how this thread has turned into an arena where people can come to boast about the size of their hard drives in their PS3

I won't. Size barely matters. What's more important is that my drive is always hard and big enough for GT5 to come back around.

I have a 120GB Slim with loads of games installed and I have 80GB's left!

What the hell are people doing with their HDD space to have to upgrade to a 500GB!? O.o

Anyway, 10GB isn't that much. The GOTY Editions of Oblivion and Fallout 3 both run at about 7GB's each. And that's mandatory.

Even though I have 48GB left on my PS3, I'm going to upgrade. I have a feeling I'm going to have to do it eventually anyway.

Of course it does! My situation is, I ran out of space when I started to buy games for my PS3. I also store alot of photos, videos, & the demo games that I really play. So, why not? :dopey:

I put a 640 GB in mine so I could put movies on my HDD. I have almot 50 movies on mine and about 20 demos.

Having all of your movies on your ps3 is great. You just go to it in the menu and press play. Great tool for transferring your dvd to digital http://handbrake.fr/

The only reason I have that many demos is because I don't want to have to go download them again if I want to play them. And if I find a demo that I occasionally like to play and don't want to buy the full game I can play that demo for a few minutes.

I think they removed it last year or early this year with Agarest.. (strategy rpg) If I remember right it was roughly a 10gb install.. *don't quote me I'm slightly drunk lol* The only other install which comes close was Resonance of fate I think it was quite a large install.. though I can't remember how big it was.. I think it was 6gb or more...
Oh. I did not know that. Well, I guess I'm going to have to clear some space, then. I've only got 15GB left on my 320GB drive!

This is excellent news! Now if only we knew we could qualify for each race again :nervous:

Hrmm I might just upgrade to a slim. I think my current fat ps3 is about to YLOD again.

I'm sitting on a 120GB PS3 Slim. Which really comes out to be about 111GB system factory, and right now I'm at 75gigs.

Big installation size is the least of my worries... 👍

Its lucky that i upgraded my 40GB with a 320GB hard drive then. Plenty of room for the instal space plus pictures in photo mode and anything else that the game may need 👍

Oh my...my hard earnt money in a 10 GB PS3 is now gone! :guilty:
Good thing to know about this. Whenever i can, i'll get a PS3 which has over 10 GBs of storage. 👍

In prologue Most of it contains GTTV videos. If you delet them it will reduce 2-3 gb.

Yeah, the GT-R bit on GTTV takes a lot of space. I wonder if the 10GB install will include GTTV videos.

Of course not, you will still have to download the GTTV videos and they will continue using disc space which is added to the GT5 game data.

Well, I've got a 250GB Slim, so I'm fine with installing whatever amount of data GT5 could possibly need.

A tip for everyone though who is going to do this. Only tighten the screws using a screwdriver when all 4 screws are in place. I made the mistake of tighten each screw and because of this I struggled to get the last one in!

are you talking about the hard drive the carrier ?

The thread turned to this:
how much space left in your hard disk and how much space in your hard disk? :)

Sounds great that the game has the Hard Drive Install, I'm currently on my last 29 GB on an 80 GB last gen BC PS3. Would it be cheaper to buy a HD as opposed to a new system and still be safe? How does the PS3 work with External HDs?

"Big space required?" You are aware this isn't the nineties any more..? :odd:

Sony sold PS3s with 20 and 40GB HDDs. Compared to them and other games' installations it is big.

The good: Installation is not required 👍.

I don't see the point of this thread, unless its purpose is to be less relevant than twitter or facebook.
