Yes, I have won both 1000hp races with the 2 chilli car. I qualified 1st in one and 3rd in the other. Whilst I was considerably quicker on the straights I found Miyazono and Gallo (IIRC) were later on the brakes and faster out of corners than me and I had to engage in some serious defending to stay ahead.
I haven’t tried starting from the back. Perhaps they put up less of a challenge in that scenario.
Good to hear mate; well-done.

As for their putting up less of a challenge when you start from the back, it's possible I s'pose.

The 1000hp race at Tokyo East is a bit of a joke. Won that by 20 seconds. It was just me racing myself the whole time.

The 500hp Supra at Trial Mountain was much more of a race against Lopez. That one was a bit of a battle but got the win by a couple car lengths.

Aaaaaand it's done !
Of course, I made a mistake, an unnecessary 360 because I lost focus, De Bruin catched up, and stayed within 6 seconds for more than one hour... Exhausting... Then he chose hard tires, big mistake, I pushed him away and race won.

So I changed my mind for the Spa endurance. What if the NSX GT500 did double-duty in 2000 and also raced in the GT1 class, much like the legendary NSX GT1 from the mid-90s? Thanks to the changes made to the Power Pack it's now possible to live out that hypothetical scenario.

Livery is available for download (BeatBack93). It's perfectly matched against the F1 Longtail and CLK, requiring you to really become one with the car in order to outpace them.
Great shots!

That's what I've been tryna say bro'.

Had to do 8 boring laps out on my own after starting from the back.

There's nerfing and then there's nerfing.

I've been going though the Power Pack each level at a time, so all races (except endurance) have been done at no chilis, now I'm working on 1 chili. Did anyone else have real trouble with the Civic race at Suzuka?

I can qualify P1 no problem, but by T1 I'm always down to 3rd or so. I can make my way back to P1 by the time I get to the Degners, but the hairpin every time just kills me. The 1-chili Civic just doesn't turn at low speed, so I can be well over a second or so ahead, but by the time I exit the hairpin I've lost places again. The others cars just glide around the hairpin.

One race that is resisting me is the Desert Beetle at Sardegna, the dirty track. I had 5th and barely managed to do 4th yesterday. Anyone tried it after the update? Really fun and lovely car but wants to put itself across the track after the tight corners and then loses a lot of speed.
Do most of the track in 3rd, the AI is crap going up the hill to the start line, pretty easy race once you get the gearing right and keep your cornering tight to the inside line

I probably should try it again without practice or qualifying. My lap times were really only about a second faster than the AI, but the AI completely lost it on the hairpin twice. Just forgot to brake and smashed into the barrier. I probably would have only won by 5 or 6 seconds if they didn't do that. I'm not sure if there is rubberbanding or not, but this Tokyo race was just me driving by myself the whole time. Kind of boring. And no, I did not wall ride. I don't do that. I've just run Tokyo East about 100+ times while grinding in all sorts of different 600pp cars.

2 hours left in the Spa 8h. I just grazed the rain cloud and it's starting to back off. Unfortunate, since it looked like a challenging storm and I was looking forward to it. Hope Nurburgring and Le Mans can satisfy.

Any tip would be really helpful here.

I'm 3 hours in, I'm marginally faster than the two mclaren gtr race cars Lopez + Serrano. But my 2 chilis mclaren car struggles with fuel.
I'm using RM, pit every 13 laps, and run 2:13 laps (best so far 2:12.5).
They seem to be in 2:13 too, slightly slower BUT they can pit every 20-22 laps!!

If I try fuel map 2 or higher, I can't keep up with them. So i would really like any info on how to do it.

I'm using my own car, the GT-ONE. I stick with RS and FM1. I pit every 16 Laps, but I build a good enough lead to keep first.

Oh ok !

Well, with the 2 chilis mclaren, the race is HARD. Will try some stints with RS and see if they stay relevant long enough for 13 laps.

I must suck at Lake Maggiore because I could only muster 4th on my attempt with the 500hp Supra. I know I'm slow at the last sector, and the last turn on to the straight is my nemesis. That car is so slippery on the throttle, and it understeers like crazy in to turns. It may be able to outpace the competition in a straight line, but I miss apexes and the competition out accelerates me out of the turns. I know it is beatable but I just don't have the pace on this circuit.

TC1 or 2, block one of the AWD cars at the start, block the blue Supra whenever possible.

TC2 cuts way too much power and yet still spins the tires out of many of the turns. I think I need to just use TC1 the whole time and be a bit more gentle on a couple corners.

This isn’t advice for Lake Maggiore specifically, but a technique I use for torquey cars is to use the gears to get down to the speed but up shift before I’m on the power.

The hairpin in sector two for example - braking down to 1st on entry, turn in shift to 2nd, apex, power out. Depends on the car but something to try (you see it in the demo laps of circuit experiences a lot)

Autoreply, but yes, RS do have 13 laps in them. The last 2 laps are slow, but it is still better than RM overall.
Lopez and Serrano are also always using RS, but they can last 18-20 laps, so I don't know if it is viable.
Last 3 hours, we'll see...

I've done about 90 minutes of the Suzuka 6 hour endurance and I have to ask what PD are smoking.

I shut down my PS5 completely, as this appears to be the only way to save endurance race progress, and upon resumption:

a) I have to sit through the unskippable grid intro, again
b) I have lost a couple of laps
c) I magically have brand new tyres
d) I have the same amount of fuel remaining, however
e) my 30s lead over P2 has gone

This is absolute nonsense and makes the endurance races pointless. How am I supposed to strategise when the above occurs?

I mean this is pretty accurate to real life. It’s like a red flag. They’re obviously inspired by the (ridiculous) F1 rule that allows you to change tyres under red flag conditions. Safety car restart after a roll back of some laps and away you go!

Nothing new or strange. It's been mentioned, discussed and detailed here countless times since the introduction of the power pack. See article by GTplanet on this.

If you use this hidden and passive save feature PD seem to have designed to store progress, in order to prevent unexpected issues during endurance PP races resulting in losing all race data, that is exactly the way is designed to behave. It resumes from the last savepoint (a couple of laps earlier), race is resumed as if there was a red flag in F1, tire changes allowed, no refuelling and relaunch under safety car (hence, losing the gaps to cars in the same lap). From that point on, you'll see the AI car refuelling stints go a bit wonkers, by the way.

Currently, if you wish to resume the race exactly as you were before your 'pause', the only recommendation (assuming you're the only one using the PS5 and don't wish to play other games in between sessions) would be to put the console into stand-by mode without exiting neither the race nor the GT7 game.

You just don't have to shut down your ps5, your asumption that it's the only way to save is wrong. GT7 always saves every 3 laps in the Suzuka endurance race. So if you want to just save your progress, you don't have to do anything.
If you want to pause, then do it, and put the PS5 in rest mode then resume your race.

I appreciate the replies. It's still piss poor from PD though. I'd have hoped by now they'd have come up with a better system for saving endurance race progress. An actual planned save that essentially freezes the race, perhaps only done during a pit-stop, would be preferable rather than this undocumented mess.

I hoped given the recent significant change to the PP, that being use your own cars, that the endurance races would have been addressed also.

Yep, that would've certainly be desireable from the beginning, but PD being PD, who knows? Maybe next update, now that they've given us the 'unexpected' chance to use our own garage cars

Agreed, like ACC does it whould have been great for sure.

First time back into the Power Pack since the update and I’m disappointed… it’s now become a hot lap simulator if you qualify on 2 chilli’s…
Some of the harder races are now just lap after lap with no one else around you…

Yep. I never thought fighting from the back would be possible after my early experiences with the PP, but here we are.

On balance though, I'm thrilled to have to some real, 'living and breathing' racing action in single player. It's just the usual GT rigmarole of self-handicapping.

The monkey paw really curled here lol. "You can now use garage cars! Buuut... the regular car choices are made easier."

To be honest, I do get the logic. It allows those wanting a harder challenge to be able to set that up, however I think the 2 chilli's car should have stayed equally hard compared to the previous update, for folks who wanted that without having to set it up by choosing a specific car.
