What do you expect the Power Pack DLC will cost?

They should have included this to GT8 in future.
It's my entirely independent opinion that this is absolutely a test-bed for a game career structure for GT8 (PD being aware that the Cafe wasn't entirely well received) and its popularity, or lack thereof, will inform that game's direction.

I agree. This is a much better career path, let's hope they choose this for GT8

I put this in the article, but may as well stick it here too:

Does the buying option through the game directly suggest that there will be no sales over time and will GTP provide us with news when the first sale (if possible) will happen?

Never heard of games that only provide such DLCs through the game directly.

Nope.. I rather use that 30€ on AC EVO. 30€ for offline only dlc content is nuts in 2025. They should have included this to GT8 in future.

It might be signaling a direction that GT8 could go in. Which is why I think we should get the DLC to show we support that direction and there’s value in structuring the next game’s career mode like this.

PD really like not making the next GT game work exactly like the last, so maybe GT8 will be more about this and not menu books and weird world circuit events instead?

Personally I think there’s more value here than AC Evo in early access which is a pretty shallow sandbox where you can race a few tracks against meh AI. I’m hoping it’ll mature into a good game. But there isn’t really much to do there yet, and the original AC just has much more going on still.

Games I've played where you can select DLC packs through an in-game interface send you to the PS Store to buy them when you click.

I just don't get why they ditched GT League (Championships), that was a perfectly fine career mode.

Personally
I like the cafe concept
It's a more chill approach to car collecting and learning about cars and racing

GT7 is sort of the coming back of GT1 car collecting focus
Teaching 7 -77 about cars and their worth and history

Today's car culture is about gatherings of cars And coffee

It's a good balance between collecting and racing

Not just racing alone...

GT7 has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Edit:
When most if not all car games involve some sort of pumped up rock, hardcore EDM, or rap (nothin bad about it)
It's just refreshing to get jazz and the cafe concept is a more mature way of nicely putting everything together in a clean neat environment (japanese style) to present an upscale car culture ... Respect and adherence to race craft, no dirty tricks....
Race to the top rather race to the bottom philosophy

I feel like the price is on the steep side, €20 would've been better. But it's not enough to be a deal breaker.

More importantly however, is the fact that it's not using your own garage. For me, that's a massive letdown. Having a couple of cars to choose from with modifiers to the prize money does give it some much needed replayability, so it could've been worse, but it could've been so much better.

It could've breathed new life into a collection of cars that still feels heavily under-utilized throughout the entire game. There's prize money involved, and we can even win exclusive cars, but for what? So we can use that prize money to buy cars that we then can't use in these proper race weekends anyway? It feels like such a missed opportunity.

So it looks like 6 directions/themes you can go in, which match the themes in the announcement. I wonder if we can work them out?
  • Japan-Asia - this is orange as it states so in the shot.
  • Europe - this looks like the green one with the GTIs
  • America - this is blue, slowed the YouTube video down to read it
  • Historic
  • Tuning
  • Nürburgring
Just leaves Pink, Yellow and Indigo (@Famine 😉) to work out.

Does that mean only one 24h race at the Nürburgring?

I was hoping for Daytona and Le Sarthe. 1000km at Suzuka
First shot of the trailer

Pink path includes Porsche Cup Legends.
Blue includes American Muscle Cars.
Green includes The GTI.
Orangs includes Civic Race (90s)

There's a bump drafting race on the Daytona Tri-Oval, as well as snow and dirt events.

I'm mostly hyped, if I'm honest.

The only negative is my reflexive side-eye to the folks who complained about free updates, wanted paid DLC and now think this price is too much.

However, I'd rather focus on the positive!

I love the prospect of 50 additional races/missions! Having to use a pre-prepared car does make it feel more like a mission for me personally, but I'm quite happy about this! The prospect of Sophy 3.0 added into the mix means I'll likely take the same obsession with these new events that I took with the new Super license missions.

Prize cars - more to add to the collection! As I play exclusively in VR (there's no TV screen in that room by choice) I'm eagerly looking forward to new interiors to explore (and sounds to hear) in all of these different cases. I do want to stress I'm invested in the experience rather than the prize cars . . . but the cars ain't nothing!

The only issue I really have is trying to figure out how much time I'll spend on the Power Pack vs. how much time I'll spend exploring the additions of Spec III.

Good stuff!

Oh, thanks! That would suggest i could wishlist it from tomorrow onwards.

Those $30 depends of the length and how big the DLC is. For me this DLC looks like an "original" Gran Turismo career mode. I guess 8 - 10 hours more without the 24 hours race.

Gran Turismo 7 Concept/Gran Turismo 8 "Prologue" if you name into something more relevant than a DLC.

After my initial disappointment I've now actually flipped after thinking about it.

Kinda hyped for these fully curated races with all those pre tuned cars.

Hope for some DTM races similar to the ones that showed up in the weeklies.

On a bummer note I fully expect one of the 6 branches to be 💩💩💩rally💩💩💩.

So these new Power Pack cars are pretty much the equivalent to the ‘Race Models’ from Gran Turismo’s past.

Rally isn't one of the 6 themes. The beetle Rally race is part of America (blue branch)
