I'm confused, why they decided to add the normal U9 in when in the promotional trailer from last year it's clearly U9 Xtreme?
Are we supposed to wait for the Xtreme model later on or something?
I'm glad that we finally get more Chinese EVs, but the mixed message from BYD is just weird to me.
The video title said U9 but the car in the trailer was the Xtreme variant...

Oh well I guess SU7 Ultra will retain its title as king of green hell in production EV category for a bit longer knowing that BYD don't want to go all in right away and they send PD to scan the normal U9 instead lol.
Maybe they're waiting for BYD to do finally break that 500 km/h barrier with U9 Xtreme first?
Whole lot of whataboutism for me but we're talking about PD here, they threw in some pleasant and not so pleasant surprises in the game before so let them cook...whatever it will be.

Aw shucks. That's the base U9? So much for "New most powerful car in GT history"... Oh well, at least the thing still packs 1200 horses

NFS Porsche Unleashed days are coming back...just need 924, 944, 928 and 968 they missed a lot but then I don't expect them to have all of the variants, since not even a Porsche focused NFS game achieved that.
But man, what a treat since 964 is my most favorite 911 model and I always wanted a more powerful 964 Turbo S as the RS model is a sharp handler of its time, but it just lacked that top end grunt.

Yeah, turned out to be rather disappointing in the end. Base U9 even though falsely advertising the Xtreme version, hopes of being Ruf but turned out to be a variant of the 964 already in the game. Twingo which is not at least the second generation Renaultsport variant. It's free when all is said and done so can't complain too much but still....

Forza says hi 👋 To my knowledge, it had the 924, 944, 928 and 968.

Gran Turismo 7 April 2026 Update: Renault Twingo, Porsche 964 Turbo S, Yangwang U9

Kazunori Yamauchi has pulled the covers off the three cars coming to Gran Turismo 7 in next week’s update, and two of them are not quite what we were expecting. The series creator took to social media to reveal the Renault Twingo, Porsche 964 Turbo S, and Yangwang U9 (yes, U9, not the Xtreme) as the trio joining the game on April 23...

BYD's marketing department has some explaining to do...

Hmm interesting about the U9 - BYD marketing was showing the xtreme version and PD adds the regular U9 , does this mean that there will be the xtreme version later or just misinformation?

Picture this: The update drops, someone shares an image on X featuring the Twingo in GT7 next to the Twingo in the GT2 A-spec Mod for an "evolution" kind of comparison, then Kaz retweets it thinking the Twingo was actually in the vanilla GT2.

That would be the certified Kaz moment lol. Really, if you ask me, I find it very likely that he'd actually believe the Twingo is a returning car from the PS1 era thanks to the popularity of the A-spec Mod.

You know, his relationship with the older games is something... peculiar to say the least. On the other hand, I couldn't even blame him, the Twingo has to be one of the most GT2 cars not officially in GT2.

Even the scroll message at the top still not sure whether is this the new U9 or the old normal U9 or is it the U9X.
Again, the mixed messages up to this point is just all so weird to me.
We won't have to wait too long and will get the confirmation through official website info and the update trailer from PD themselves.

Isn't this Porsche in the update, the red car, the same gen Porsche as in Bad Boys 1??? if so then, it such a lovely goldy oldy and can't wait to try it!!!

I always welcome more 911 Turbos because I grew up in a time when the Turbo was Porsche's best offering performance-wise (my favorite racing game of all time is NFS Porsche Unleashed, which had the 996 Turbo on its cover), with the Carrera/GT3 RS a niche car for enthusiasts.
I wholeheartedly agree. I played NFS Porsche Unleashed on PC and loved it!
The Turbo was my favourite as a kid and right through to the 997 car. After that regrettably 911 cars all became too big and complicated.
But to be able to enjoy a 993/964 Turbo and a 996 and 997 Turbo (with active aero) would be sublime.

Missed opportunity coming from PD, unless BYD don't allow them to scan or they did scan it but the car won't be ready in time due to BYD themselves want to do another PR with the car before PD's turn.
Regardless, even with the normal U9 will have the highest top speed out of any production EV in the game but it will be slower than SU7 Ultra at Nordschleife.
Oh well at least when they do release the Xtreme model in the future updates, it won't take them 6 months to put it out this time as they already have the scanned base model, they just have to added in nailed what makes the Xtreme model standout from the normal version.

As a massive Twingo fan, YES! (Although my love for them is mostly the MK2 but who doesn't love the MK1).

Did you know, the name is an amalgamation of, Twist, Swing, Tango. And, despite availability in the UK and Japan, was left hand drive only. There was also a Benetton version and, you used to be able to get a plushy version of it because they're so cute.

If the U9 is an AI in a new WTC 600 race, oh boy...

I mean, the Xiaomi being a rabbit in the Nurburgring race is already ludicrous enough.
