Hyped for the Twingo in a way I have not been for other recent smaller cars.

Hope I can tune it into something fun on the Nordschleife.

On a sidenote: I think Renault totally nailed the design of the new electric Twingo.

Track wise, we just need something tight and technical to get the best out of the more modest cars they're adding.

Sierra or Costa Di Amalfi would be ideal for the crossovers and small cars they've brought into the fold.
I know we have Scapes, but those circuits would be awesome with some of the luggage accessory options for some of those cars.

I have Seen a Lot of hate on Reddit and Facebook for the Addition of the Twingo.
That's not very relevant here. Few people here will call you weird. It is like posting saying "Unpopular opinion : ..." and writin a popular opinion.

There's nothing wrong in being weird or loving weird stuff, in my opinion:

If it is the Ruf CTR2 then two out of 3 cars are good or acceptable..!!

Edit: The Ruf or the Porsche must be 4wd, or else I can't control it. When spending more than 30 minutes to get silver in OTT then a 4wd is preferred.

I was in the process of recreating Rauh Racing's rejected N24 Twingo off the Kangoo, so this addition is perfect :sly:

I will agree that it's kinda lame we're not getting a proper classic RUF, especially after GT and RUF had their get together not too long ago. Ouch. :indiff:

Although not a VGT, the first fictional concept car created by the third party (not Polyphony) specifically for inclusion in Gran Turismo was in GT4, with the Nike One.

That was the only appearance of that car, but the GT by Citroen came in GT5 (also not a VGT). But these cars were in many ways the precursors to the VGT program.
I would say that the Red Bull X cars and the GT by Citroen cars which we got in GT5 was as much a precursor to the specifically labelled VGT concept cars we got in GT6. We could not drive the Nike One in GT mode/simulation mode.

I know it's probably wishful thinking at this point but I really hope a minor miracle happens and we get at least the CTR Yellow bird from '87. I don't get the logic of including a second 964 with the main difference being a Turbo variant rather than a naturally aspirated one.
You can just add a turbo via the tuning shop 🙄

There is mention that it's the Turbo Leichtbau S variant but is there any way to be certain? Just a bit disappointing If that's the case. They were all advertising their great relationship with Ruf recently as if they had some amazing partnership and yet in almost a decade, we've received a grand total of 2 models 🤔

But you could see the evolution of an idea from that first Nike One car through the GT by Citroen and Red Bull X cars in GT5 to the VGT program. In many ways that Nike One concept kicked it all off. The connection is they were all concepts made specifically for Gran Turismo, though not all are exclusive to Gran Turismo anymore.

I would've been happy with the Yellowbird, but the 964 Turbo S is my favorite 911 if not my favorite Porsche. If it comes with the LM-GT parts then it's a great addition, like the Nissan R32 GT-R NISMO which everyone complained about (and even more redundant than the 964) until they saw it had the JGTC parts in GT Auto, which allowed accurate recreations of those cars.

I always welcome more 911 Turbos because I grew up in a time when the Turbo was Porsche's best offering performance-wise (my favorite racing game of all time is NFS Porsche Unleashed, which had the 996 Turbo on its cover), with the Carrera/GT3 RS a niche car for enthusiasts. Sadly, from the 2010s onwards this was no longer the case and I suspect it had to do with the 997 Turbo being shown up by Nissan's R35 GT-R at the Nordschleife, as well as the popularity of YouTube and shows like Top Gear, which benefitted louder naturally aspirated cars. The context made the Turbo "undesirable", being too quiet and heavy. Ironically it also moved the GT3 away from its original purpose, as it's more vanity icon for influencers now than obscure enthusiast choice.

The Twingo could've been a Clio RS 197 BTW. :P

You can't add a turbo to the 964 Carrera though. Besides, the Turbo is a completely different beast in terms of performance and styling, and it'll almost certainly have some unique customisation options on offer.

Even besides the fact it'll likely drive amazingly, it's absolutely a worthy addition to the game's roster.

Huh, interesting. Reminds me of how we have two road-going 992-era 911s, but they couldn't be more different: the Turbo S '20 is AWD and turbocharged, whereas the GT3 RS '22 is RR and NA. That's before we mention the race-spec GT3 R '22, as well...

At any rate, I don't think we'll get a new Bonus Menu, but I do anticipate a new Seasonal Menu featuring all three new cars. As for a potential Extra Menu? If we get one, it very well could still feature one of the new cars, just like the Hyundai Elantra N TC '24 did in its respective update. Like another poster mentioned, it could focus on the Porsche 911 Turbo, with the 930, 964, and the 992. We've had one on mid-engined Porsche models, the 911 Carrera RS models, and Porsche supercars. There's also the Porsche 911 menu in the main campaign, which does indeed feature the 930, but the other two models are of the Carrera RS name, though both of said Carrera RS models were featured a second time in the aforementioned 911 Carrera RS Extra Menu.

Alternatively, maybe we could get an Extra Menu featuring relatively eccentric Renault models, featuring the Twingo, the Kangoo, and the Avantime.

EDIT: I do still have my fingers crossed for at least one more mission set but I'd also be very surprised if we got one this update.

EDIT2: I don't know if I'd rule out a new Circuit Experience, either. Certainly seems to be some short layouts we could see, between Suzuka, Autopolis, Fuji, Brands Hatch, Watkins Glen, Lake Louise, and Red Bull Ring. Plus other layouts like Sardegna B and C, and St. Croix B, let alone various reversed layouts that I likely forgot.
