Because the onus is on the player to build a car that can compete with the fastest on the leaderboard. Just like classic GT, you're given the freedom to work out a problem, instead of just being handed the answer for free through BoP. Of course there will be some outstandingly OP cars - but the onus is then on PD to figure out why those cars are broken and revamp their PP ratings.

And what exactly were your salient points? That the Avantime and Alphard are identical cars because they share a similar shape?
You missed the point.

Tuning races are fine, tuning and bop are broken. You’d use the existing cars as a baseline to spec the new cars?

It doesn’t really matter as we are all bitching or loving the same/different things.

We have seen these kind of "mediocre" updates with GT Sport before near the end of it's life cycle. It's clear GT8 is in the works and 90% of staff effort is going towards that most likely. All of the future additional tracks and "good" content is probably being saved for the next title.

Looking forward to tomorrow, always enjoy update day. Avantime will make a nice addition to our lobby nights. :)
With regards to online racing, lobbies are where it's at. So much more varied and creative. The GT3/GT4 meta car situation that is Sport Mode is so mindnumbingly boring and out of touch. The vocal minority (the "I only race online with BOP" crowd) is so tiring. They can scream from the top of their lungs about the latest GT3 cars all they want, but at the end of the day they are objectively the smallest part of the overall GT7 playerbase, and do NOT represent the majority of players or their views on just about anything Gran Turismo related. The majority of players aren't making their opinions known via social media at all. I imagine most don't feel comfortable putting themselves out there in such a way, especially with the angry vocal minority ready to beat them down over it (usually in the LEAST constructive way possible).

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I wish PD had a slightly bigger team and were able to put out a sequel to GT Sport (for the vocal minority to enjoy) with an online focus with more fleshed out classes and features to support this focus. Leaving the mainline series for the rest who have very little interest in the online competitive space (85%+ of the total GT7 players). This would also make it possible for the mainline game to be playable offline. Seems like a win win for everyone involved, but then again... that is predicated on PD having a big enough team to be able to work on two different versions of the game (which they don't). So, it may be a bit pie-in-the-sky but it seems like a logical solution, nonetheless. As it stands, the online and single player modes end up being a somewhat watered down experience, trying to somehow cater to two wildly different camps. That's my .02 anyway.

Poop emoji's incoming in 3... 2.... 1...

Do you have a link for this japanese community pls?
just check the japanese posts at official pages (twitter, specially the QTs /instagram), but keep a eye on western people that use google translate to complain in japanese
I found the most voted ones interesting
if Kaz announced top 8 tomorrow with this same photo print, the western community of GT7 would litteraly explode in rage tellling in mass that they would play thhe next generic GT3 game lol

kjb
The cars are okay except for the Afeela but since it is so hated so it will probably be in the weekly challenge at Eiger reverse in a one make race.j/k I hope there are some good engine swaps and the 900 pp race at Spa will have a good payout
Good idea for tomorrow's testing lol :D

’25 Chevrolet Corvette CX Concept

The Corvette CX Concept is unmistakably pure Corvette. Designed for street and track, the Corvette CX Concept is a futuristic vision of an electrified Corvette Hypercar.

As an all-wheel-drive, four E-motors are integrated into the RESS understructure, providing over 2,000 horsepower.

the idea is rumorized to be a intial idea of a Corvette hypercar/LMDh, Corvette was used on recent past in the now retired Daytona Prototype system

I wanted to point out: the article states all three cars in the new menu book can be bought from the legendary dealership: not true, the '66 S800 is sold through the used car dealer.

Yes, I simply love online lobbies. It helps that I have a group to play with, of course, but the variety and quality of racing is wonderful - every update is exciting because it can offer us something new to enjoy, and we're not short of options already! I do also enjoy BoP and Sport mode though, when in the mood. It's less creative but you are guaranteed a close race, it can be very rewarding and a lot of fun. I'm glad that GT7 covers both.

There is a lot of discontent in these update threads every month, but it doesn't resonate with me. Just my opinion but I think GT7 is fabulous as it is, and I see anything extra as a lovely bonus - I don't need anything more from the game (1500 hours and counting). I would obviously love some new tracks, but I see little reason to expect them: no expectation = no disappointment.

This is 100% the best mentality to have for GT7 updates. The game is over 3 years old at this point, so we really shouldn't expect a huge update or a new track to arrive.

It's PD after all. What will be, will be. :)
I'm just glad we're getting free stuff almost monthly. I also think if there's a time this year to really see something interesting get announced, it'll be at the GTWS events. For the new track? I think it could be almost anything, from a returning real-world venue like Daytona, or maybe even an all-new layout for a current venue, like the Alsace Test Course or the Catalunya Rallycross layout. Or, it could be something completely different, like when we got Lake Louise.

EDIT: I also still think we need more mission sets!

I can get on board. What's here is pretty excellent, and while I feel like some improvement can be made, I have no qualms enjoying it as is and waiting for the next game - which likely will be more extensive if PD stick to their old habits.

Lake louise was a kick in the junk.

I'd hope it would be a lot more comprehensive than that!

500+ cars in this game and all you ever see in dailies is the same 5-10, depending on what's the meta that week. It seems so far away now, but there was a time closer to GT7's launch where you'd be able to see grids like these in dailies.

There is some decent variety in race As, absolutely. Do you do much daily racing?

I’m more than happy to race 1 track a week with either a gr3/4 car or whatever race A throws up and have been since launch

I guess you can find what you’re looking for in lobbies with your friends with whatever your imagination can throw up - but you’re screenshot would probably lead to that truck smashing its way through the pack and ruining everyone race 😁 not for me

Great post.

I think one thing to consider though, is that most online/sport mode players do play single player as well so there is a cross over and typically we all want a generally better game as an entire player base.

So it’s not really as polarising as it appears, what it is, is that different things are front of mind for different people. I do the SP races, the weekly challenges have collected all the cars etc but spend a lot more of my time now racing other players so those issues are more “front of mind for me” others will be racing in SP a lot more and so those things are more pertinent to them. Neither view point is wrong and both are just asking for a better game and more “rich and considered” updates.

That being said we are now at what feels like the long tail of the game, most of us here have been playing this version of GT for several years now so see it warts and all.

A little more transparency from PD would probably appease most people but that is very very unlikely but we can live in hope.

That's how I roll nowadays with regards to handling GT7 updates, either they surprise us or not surprise us with each new update.

 If anything, I would think having no Snow tracks in the section labelled 'Dirt/Snow' from the 2017 launch of GT Sport (featuring equippable snow tyres) through to GT7 Spec-II 6 years later was a rather unfortunate situation, and getting 6 snow layouts was quite a nice early Xmas present.

We know from updates and full releases that PD complete work on at least two track locations per year, in addition to maintenance on the existing ones, so even if we see just one more track location in the next 16 months, there'll be about five we've not seen potentially ready for GT8 by then. Maybe they'll even revisit Eiger's dirt trails, or Chamonix, just to upset you.

Seems like you can't make any changes to downforce settings on the Corvette, which leads to interesting happenings if you take it onto Nordschleife...
