Damn, it seems I didn't care about VGT any more than the people who hate it.

That aside, I'm actually relieved that they added a turbocharged Captur.
I'm going to use it to blow the SU7 Ultra away.

Interestingly the Renault Captur is a 6 speed manual, and being the TCE 140 it's pretty much the most driver-centric a Captur can realistically get.

That should mean it has some decent upgrade potential like the Mazda CX30 and Toyota RAV 4. I'm praying for some utterly heinous aerodynamic parts, like the Honda CRV...
Same, I‘d love to be able to turn the Captur into a (hypothetical) Pikes Peak car!

However I’m looking forward to the RX-7 the most. I much prefer this version over the Spirit R. Such an elegant and timeless design without the outrageous aero parts!

Maybe "race-mod" will be an upgrade option in GT8?

So that Camaro is a tunner or a race car, i can't get it yet.
Nobody can because the update is still more than 13 hours away.

Judging by the fact there's an American Clubman Cup race being added, and they're only open to Road and Professionally Tuned cars, it's likely a tuner car. Which I said in the article, so...

Perhaps it was the nearest model to get access to? I imagine its usually about finding the nearest available model.

For some reason I’m hoping/expecting next week daily race A to be with the new Camaro RM at Gran valley. I just think it would be a very cool combo…
I said earlier that I’m not a fan of muscles cars but PD sure have me excited for that one. Can’t wait to try it.
The captur seam to have a 6 speed manual so it will be a lot more fun to drive than a boring CVT.
Curious about the RX7 and its available body kits…
Overall i think it a cool update.

We just had Grand Valley, but I wouldn't say no to Trial Mountain or Big Willow.

Probably means Japan model?
Or a UK model set to continental units (which is available on the Captur).

To the best of my knowledge - which I concede is relatively small in this instance - the Captur was auto-only for Japan, and not sold in this grade.

If anyone is curious about "ɛ̃fini", it was one of five sub-brands offered/planned by Mazda to divide its offerings into discrete market segments. Eunos is probably the most familiar, but you might know Autozam too. There was ɛ̃fini as a third, M2 as a fourth, boutique brand, and the high-end Amati that was cancelled almost at the last possible moment and about which Mazda will not speak. Ever.

The various dealers also sold overseas cars under their original branding: Autozam sold Lancias, ɛ̃fini sold Citroens. Don't ask why.

That Camaro actually infuriates me  I hate how it looks and I hate how it's a PD original thing instead of something from our reality, so much so I'm more excited to drive the Captur and RX-7 :indiff:

Where's the RM-inspired Trans Am touring car or the 2010 SEMA GT Award-winning Stielow Engineering Red Devil? I wouldn't mind it if it came as some bonus in a potential Power Pack II ala the tuned cars that were added with the original Power Pack, but to use up an update slot on it feels extremely underwhelming and disappointing (although, in it's defense, is the Captur gonna feel that much different to drive than the slew of CUVs already on offer? Or the RX-7 compared to the one already in game?)

But what makes this particular RX-7 an "efini" RX-7 rather than a bog standard one? Was that particular sub-brand related to having a more luxurious interior, for example? A bit like Acura and Honda, for instance.

What's even more confusing about the Mazda brand split is you learn about it, and then you see "Savanna RX-7" and you naturally assume that was another brand split when it actually wasn't, that was just the full name of the pre-FD RX-7 in Japan.

That's just what the game calls it. Like how the MX-5 is a "Eunos Roadster" or how the AZ-1 is an Autozam.

Just found out it was a luxury-focused, Japan only sub-brand which operated from 1991-1997 👍

With regards to the new Camaro- in theory, I suppose there's nothing to stop that particular PD tuned version from being created in reality. If you had the necessary know-how and the parts, it probably could be done. Just that getting a real tuner like Stielow's Red Devil would give it a bit more......legitimacy, I guess. It's always far more exciting (at least to me) to drive a car in a racing game which has some physical presence in reality.

Strange that there are no new circuits with sophy, probably that P.D. Is working on a 2.2 spec? I think the spec 3.0 will remain exclusive to the power pack

I mean its a Restomod. That's about as IN our reality as you can get (SEMA is literally an event full of these restomods).

The Steilow Camaro (As well as the Green one) were Restomods. That Maverick (From GT Sport I think?) is a Restomod.

It'll be a dateless car in Brand Central.
I spend too much time on
:gtplanet: and am therefore also date less.
The real question is: Will PD be nice to us and just call the Mazda "RX-7 Type R", or will they force us to learn how to write the character ɛ̃?
Bad luck
I am curious to try that Camaro restorace-mod, do you think ot will drive like the GT5 Camaro RM or like the SEMA Maverick??🤔🤔
Just as long as it doesn't drive like this...

We don’t know that yet. Usually Sophy compatible tracks along with engine swaps and other tweaks are only revealed in the update notes.

I guess, but I meant more to say I'd rather PD model an "actual" car compared to them designing something to their own specifications. I don't have an issue with restomods, but I prefer them to come from a real-life fabricator instead of the fictional "designed by Gran Turismo" tag.

Like maybe the Camaro they've designed has some relevance/resemblance to some racing series the way the Power Pack cars were, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to say.
