I like the Camaro, but it's too tight. Spent some time at Grand Valley, trying to loosen it up. Got it better, but needs more adjustment.

That isn't a thing. The cars* all have the same fuel tank size: 100 litres. It's that racing car engines are more economical on race track duty cycles than road car engines.

*Not the kart
TIL.

Now I wish the kart did too.

The Race Mod Camaro is exactly the sort of car I want because fully tuning old cars can sometimes lead to less than ideal results, owing to the usually poor chassis and suspension geometry. This car has a much stronger chassis so it's far more enjoyable to drive. However the thing that shocked me most were the brakes. On Bathurst, I kept braking too early into Griffin Bend and easily pulled up for The Chase at the 150 metre mark. I feel like the performance is very similar to that of a V8 Supercar. Also the Captur is a fun little car that just makes me happy for some reason. I guess flogging a small French economy car on a race track will always be funny.

it shouldn’t be in Chevy’s dealership either 😀 putting it in GT or PD dealership would make more sense to me 😀
I concur.

Additional fun fact though: by being in the Chevrolet dealer it re-establishes the n-0-0-0-n pattern for adding American cars in updates, after the two Corvette concepts broke it.

1.62 - 2
1.63 - 0
1.65 - 0
1.67 - 0
1.68 - 1

This one is the fifth time it's happened.

New Camaro is easily the best sounding V8 in the game. Whatever PD did to capture or create the engine sound for this car, they need to do to all of the other V8's in the game. Especially the newer Mustangs.
one of the better ones for sure , also dont forget to use racing silencer with the new camaro much better imho

Returning with my ever positive and wonderful opinion:

Popped into the game for a few mins. The FD is a nice add. Fun to drive stock.

Not gonna pick up the Camaro. Wish it had been a classic Trans-Am "Race Mod" version. Yes, I already have a bunch of replicas with liveries but its not the same. Plus having a proper designated version would show a sort've targeted effort by PD and fit with Power Pak type content. This is kinda just another SEMA car to me.

That's about it. I'll return again when something else interests me.

Plus the front and rear aero of the Camaro are higher than GR.4. Helps a great deal.
Yes thats quite ridiculous.

Its easy to drive but it's not particularly exciting, anyone wanting to get tail happy is going to be quite underwhelmed.

But still, better than most restomods in the game

Go with the delete aero options in GT Auto then drive it back. Or just leave it at it is and stiffen the suspension and anti roll bars. If it still fails to excite you, please seek a doctor (jk!)

The new RX-7 gets 6 gears with a custom transmission while the Spirit R stays stuck at 5, so if you're looking to maximise performance from an FD then the '91 honestly might be the better option.
I was pretty elated about this myself. Felt like the other FD in the game has been held back by it's lack of a 6th gear. To my knowledge this is only the second car that gains a gear when making modifications, the other being the 930 Turbo when you swap in the RSR engine.

I'm fairly certain most, if not all, classic muscle cars gain a gear or two when modified with a new transmission. From the top of my head, I don't remember a single car that has less than 5 gears with a transmission upgrade equipped.

The Chevelle and the Chaparral 2J, for example, gains 2 new gears from any transmission upgrade.

Unless you are referring to the fact it increases from five to six gears. That is pretty rare in this game.

On the subject of transmissions the b18c in the 500 is hilariously mismatched to the fiat's gearing. Its like the NA version of the Escudos turbo lag.

The Camaro is a good car for beginners, it is very easy to drive, there are cars like the Toyota GR86 that are way harder to drive on stock Sports Mediums than the Camaro is on Sports Mediums.
I agree; hilariously overpowered with so much grip, getting gold on that time trial was much easier than I was expecting. The brakes are actually insane on that thing, it's like they gave it Corvette ZR1 specs underneath the Camaro body  (I guess that would explain why it's called a restomod).

Quoting myself last year in March, in regards to tuning road cars to Gr.4/GT4 specs:
I didn’t like that the 650S road car have no option to lighten the car and the transmissions have no option to remove gears. A car with a three or four and even five(for the 240 ZG) forward gears, get an added fifth gear(sixth for the 240ZG). However a car with more than six forward gears doesn’t get the same transmission option. If you get my meaning.

Thanks fellas, I was mainly referring to gaining that 6th gear (though my other example, the 930, a 5 speed, lol). Of course it's worth nothing that IRL later year 930s did come from factory with 5 forward gears hahaha. 05XR8, I missed that post and greatly appreciate that insight.

So relieved the '91 RX-7 doesn't have the same "exhaust leak" sound that the Spirit R does - it bothers me so much on that car.
I think I’m overjoyed with the A-Spec front clip that I haven’t even driven it yet. Only lowered the suspension, removed the rear swing and changed the color to silver. I’ve just been staring at the car.

The FD3S might be the most exquisite example of 1990s soap-bar styling in the entire automotive landscape, particularly the early cars. Compact, athletic proportions, no creases, no extraneous "bits", modest wheels - the whole car is just a single stroke of calligraphy vacuum-formed to an Olympic speedskater physique. The only car that gets close in my opinion is the super obscure Detomaso Guara....which has nearly the same front end. As a connoisseur of cars in this design style (I mean I own a 986) I have to give it top marks.

I believe you however I don't tune, because I do league racing and that only works with cars that are fun out of the box, because you can't lock a tune in for the entire room if it's not stock, and people would rather race other games like ACC when tuning is involved.

This is part of my frustration with PD, they could add some cool features that would enable the playerbase to get way more out of the car list, but they don't do it.

Really wish you had the choice in all cars between 5 or 6 gears when spending 20k+ on a custom transmission.
Didn't GT5 and 6 just add a gear by default most times?
More choices is nice tbh.
Also really hate how you can't freely adjust ratios while watching the rpm/power graphs easily, like you could in the past. It made fine tuning gearing a joy as opposed to a chore now.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.68 Arrives March 12: Three New Cars and Four New Events

Following a surprise teaser over the weekend we’ve now got a confirmed date for the next Gran Turismo 7 game update — Thursday March 12 — along some more information about its contents...
Have you heard any rumors why PD/Sony hasn't updated cars & tracks that is eligible for AI Sophy for many weeks? Since there's only a few it shouldn't take that long. Unless PD wants to have Sophy 3.0 on all tracks&cars instead of 2.1?
