Makes perfect sense to release the game in April. This could very likely mean a simultaneous release worldwide, and didn't Kaz say he hoped for a worldwide release. Plus it makes sense for Sony as GOW3 and Final Fantasy 13 come out in march.

PD are very good at informing us of delays.

Any 'nice' information such as videos, screenshots we have to rely on everybody else.

Shouldn't this be the other way round?

GT5 will be remembered for this - its a bit of a farce isn't it.

If this is down to Sony Computer Entertainment then i'm sure Kaz is as frustrated as all of us.

He must feel our pain too.

Or maybe they want to put out an demo with standard physics since 80% of the players have been disappointed with the professional physics. GT Academy Demo may have hurt the reputation a lot since quite a few of people think gt5 will only be that. :(

I think its a bit optimistic to think its being pushed back for a world wide release. Much more likely its not ready to be released in any region so has to be pushed back to give them more time to get the game ready.

i think we all fear that deep down :(

Lets call this game launch title for ps4 hahaha, My goodness i give up about this game, a racing game taking 6 years hahaha, maybe they did this because they know a lot from EU and Na will import the game from Japan, so they will delay it to prevent imports. Expected from Pd from there history from gt 2 to gt4. It is so funny, it is just a racing game not a fps or rpg taking 6 years.

sony is evil, they know that a lot of gamers will import the japanese version and so to prevent it they will possibly launch the game both at the same time December 2010

From all the good news from GOW3 comes to bad news well im not surprised Kaz is always notorious for game delays and lies, remember GT2 and GT3? Delayed a lot of times. But it is really funny, a racing game taking 6 years, which does not even have story, characters, moving background, interaction like fps or rpg.

Well good luck, Turn 10 already has a new project. My goodness I thought seeing still being at E3 is a nightmare , It might be worse that we might still see this game this TGS 2010, because by that time the game is still not launch, WTF.

Can they just convert this game as a GT6 prologue or a launch title for PS4?

Yeah exactly 👍 . Because Yamauchi won't release game until its ready, and I have maximum respect for that! Until he thinks its ready. But maybe.. just maybe.. I don't think this has been mentioned yet but maybe they're at the stage where they have a team of people playing the game and testing every inch of it to look for any bugs, glitches etc.. and they might have found a few bugs so they've said "okay right, lets just delay it for now until we fix this/these issue/s."

Now if that's the go then I'd rather have it perfected with any bugs or glitches ironed out and fixed. I mean, we'd all hate for it to be like Need For Speed Shift now wouldn't we?

No other racing game (in terms of content) has EVER been this BIG...

All I can say is good luck with Forza old chap.

Yes, but unlike an rpg/fps this has over 1000 detailed car models, each with their individual interiors.. and it has the best graphics of any game on any console in my opinion, i still think nothing comes close to prologue regardless of whatever the genre of the game is

we don't know if this possible 4 week delay is down to PD ,as stated final fantasy is due out in March ,and considering FF is a big deal in Japan in might be reasonable to release FF first if GT is going through the final touch.

6 years!!!! - I reckon if the project was real life, you could build all the cars and tracks in the real world quicker than what PD can do in a 'virtual world'

PD don't do themselves any favors.

But at the end of the day we will still buy the game but why do SCE/PD bring so much negative vibes upon themselves?

Do they not communicate correctly between them selves?

So many questions but no answers to be heard from PD.

My goodness i thought seeing this game still in E3 2010 is worse, well we might see something more worse, TGS 2010 , WTF

I guess sony has made enough profit and are pushing this big title for the fiscal financial year that starts in april 2010... this has nothing to do with PD pulling in porsche now or polishing the game even more, this is done purely from a financial point of view and done by sony, not PD or Yamauchi.

I was looking forward to importing this in march and im not too happy about this.

I may well be the only person but I really don't have a problem with them announcing a delay for the Japanese version, after all it is the only delay the game has had so far contrary to what some people are suggesting.

I'd love to have had the game when the PS3 launched but I have no issues waiting for the game to be finished. If it takes them another 12 months to make it as good as is possible then I'm very happy to wait.

It's Polyphony's game, they've spent millions developing it and it's none of my business when they are able to or decide that they want to release it.

I really can't understand why some people have such issues with it. I know we live in a "fast food" type culture where people expect everything instantly & cheaply but maybe I'm just old fashioned but quality is what I'm more interested in.

hello all. im new here, been reading the forums for a couple of months now, just thought, well sign up!

The info we had over the last month, the demo, the cover box art, the vids, ces, all seem to point towards a release date sooner rather than later. (and explains why most of us are a bit 'hurt' by the news) I agree with a post above, i wouldnt be susprised if the delay was down to a few bugs, we all know that its going to be a pretty big game. heres hoping for a pre-june release!

Amen to that! 👍

I'm annoyed at the amount of time we have been waiting for this game, when I got my ps3 on launch and played GTHD I assumed that it was an indication of GT5 being released soon.
But no matter how long it is delayed, the frustration will dissappear as soon as I put my foot down in the first car i purchase. I want this game to be complete before I play it without any bugs so we have to update every week.

I'm surprised nobody has considered the fact that the delay could actually be down to the PS3's firmware.

For GT5 to use 3D, a new firmware will be required for the PS3, we have no idea what other features GT5 will make use of on PS3, but i'm sure custom in game music will also require an updated firmware. Maybe Sony aren't ready to update the PS3 just yet.

It's really interesting how quickly people forget that there are 1000+ cars in the game, witch each car taking 3 to 6 months to model, and each track taking at least 6 months..

It is so funny, it is just a racing game not a fps or rpg taking 6 years.

Just a racing game .. yeah, that's a really nice way to describe all the work put in GT5. If more of your holy fps or rpg games recieved so much attention, maybe we would't have so many crap games arround.
I just want to say that most of you whiners here dont appreciate what these amazing employees at Polyphony Digital have acomplished. For all the time and effort put in to make YOUR lives more fun, they really don't get enough credit. Being a programmer myself, i know how it is.

Good call ...

i wont use 3d why must i wait extra 3 or 5 months?
Who said to Kazunori develop to GT5 from scratch?
Who said to KAzunori add Nascar WRC IRL ALMS 400.000 polygons per car.?
Who said to Kazunori open GT academy Tournament?

I was very happy with GT3 it has 170 cars beautiful tracks. There as no nascar WRC IRL Super gt etc. GT3 was best selling in the franchise. 15 millons mark. GT3 released in 2001 it still has best graphics on PS2. GT2 was released in 1999.. Do you think the same engine was used GT2 and GT3?
If so i was very happy with same engine.

Then go play GT3.

And to think that i bought my PS3 in 2007.. thinking that maybe 07 or 08 could be the year that they release GT5.

And now we are talking about a mid 2010 release date.. sigh.

I was just about to say the same :)

If it took 2 years for T10 to come up with that (and that was not from scratch BTW) then by all means take as long as needed PD.
2 years, plus the experience of what they have behind them as well. So GT5 will take 3 times longer to get out of the door. Will it be 3 times better? Depends on your definition of better, but you get my point. The fact is, Forza 3 was well received, and the majority of 360-owning racing fans are very happy with it. They have the game now, and already have some DLC to look forward too.

I really find the persistant comparisons with Forza 3 rather boring and pointless now. Yes, we know you are excited for the game, as most of us are, but hating on Forza 3 just because it is by Microsoft on the 360...

As for the delay being down to firmware relating to 3D and custom soundtracks, I'm not so sure. For a start, hardly anybody has the ablity to play in 3D, so delaying for that would be unjustified. Custom soundtrack though...maybe.
