Little Duckpond Under the Mountain.

No longer in operation.

This garage was aimed at accomplishing a few things.
1. It was two guys having a bit of fun .
2. To provide tunes for Racing soft tyres, because no-one else was doing them and there was a lot of people out there, mainly kids and older players. Who don't take this too seriously, but still want, and deserve to, go as fast as they can :D.
3. To hopefully start a few others doing so too :mischievous:.
4. To reacquaint myself with the GT tuning process after a lay off since GT4. And to learn as much as I could from people who looked at it from different points of view 💡.

5. Th-th-th-th-that's all folks.....:P

Missions accomplished!

In my time here, I participated in a few test programmes/events. here is the MOST important one. If you have any questions about specific feedback I got during the tests or my interpretations of camber and how to get the most use out of it. Please feel free to PM me. I'm always happy to answer questions and try to give examples of cars I believe highlight how effective it can be for different situations :).....or point you in the direction of someone who can describe it better ;). An open mind is essential for these communications, I may tell you things you don't want to hear :P

Updated tunes.

The post Version 1.09 Update update post.
(Sorry, couldn't help myself:D)

DISCLAIMER: All tunes found in this Garage(at time of writing) have been created using a DS3 with stick used for steering set at 0 sensitivity, ABS set @ 1 and SRF on (Yes, I hear all the moans already...and I don't care!) and all other aids off. Just remember that not all drivers were created equal, we all have our own styles and skill levels and what works for you may not work for others.
These tunes will not suit everyone and to some may seem completely undriveable but they have all been extensively tested and for the people for whom they have been created they work better than the stock settings.
Most of the tunes unless otherwise stated were created at Grand Valley Speedway and have the Transmission settings for this track shown. Top speeds have been tested at Route X.

I would like to take this opportunity to give a special thanks to a few people from our community who have helped me a lot, either directly or otherwise, in gaining the understanding that I have acquired so far.

Firstly, for the sheer volume of work he has done not only here in GT6 but also in GT5, I would like to thank @Motor City Hami for his extensive work on all things tuning related, a huge amount of time and effort has been put in to help all of us and we salute you!
Here is the link to Motor City Hami's Tuning Guide.

Secondly and I'm sure this will come as no surprise, I would like to thank the Tuning Legend that is @praiano63 for the huge amount of great tunes that he has created over the past few years and for also sharing his wisdom, especially with his Transmission set-up guide.
Here is a link Praiano's Transmission Guide.

Also @XS for his help with teaching this old dog new tricks. And of course taking the time to compile all of the tunes available here in GT6 and making an easy to use Tune Directory to benefit everyone as well as giving us little guys a place to be noticed in a :gtplanet: full of tuning giants.👍
XS' GT6 Tune Directory

A very special thanks also goes to @DolHaus for providing a great resource for the beginner tuners like myself with his
General Tuning Guide And for his insightfulness and dedication in helping fellow tuners of any level to learn and improve.💡:bowdown:

And last but not least, My tuning partner and good friend @Dirty_Duck who is also Co-Founder of our little garage and who does have a motorsports background, who frequently spends a lot of time with myself bouncing ideas around to try and get the best out of every tune we do here under the mountain.

Here are the links to a couple of tunes which I have posted previously outwith this garage.

And someone who has helped me with far more than he or I could ever have dreamed of. Tuning related and especially not. I owe you all I have dear friend. You can collect anytime :gtpflag:

This is the first tune I made as a request from a Friend and I have had soooo much fun in this car. It is a regular giant killer at Laguna Seca and Deep Forest and was recently used for the X-BOW seasonals with some nice results(1.06.005) on lap 1.

Enjoy your drive!

An old favourite from GT5 which has been given a new lease of life here on GT6. Not the fastest car at 550pp but still very capable of giving the BMWs and Mercs a real good hiding if put in the right hands.

Enjoy your drive!

I know, it's not the most glamorous car and it certainly isn't the quickest. It is however the only car I have owned in real life that is in GT6 so I had to give it the works.

Tuned to the MAX, this is an awesome machine! The gearbox just keeps going, it seems as though it's ready to top out at the end of the GVS straight around 170MPH but when I tested it at Route X it was still climbing way past the 3.5Km mark.
Fast, fun and super responsive....what more could you want!?

Enloy your drive!

This tune is one of my personal favourites. The steering is very direct and the rear end is just a tad on the slippery side, just the way I like em! The NSX Type R '02 was one of my most used cars on GT5 and with this tune it will likely rack up a lot of miles this time round too.

Enjoy your drive!

The Arta version of this car was a favorite of mine in GT5 so I have been dying to get to grips with this Base model. I have had it in my garage since day one and have until now, not really been able to find a nice tune for it but alas, I think that after a good days work I may have found my answer.

I have spent quite a bit of time with this car today. I have tried two different versions, one without the Improved Rigidity and one with. And to be honest other than some adverse reactions to hitting some kerbs there seemed to be very little difference between the two.
I was experimenting with 3 slightly different suspension set-ups on both of the cars and did a 20 lap run on each of the 6 variations and this one posted not only the quickest time, but was by far the most consistent for me on both cars. With only about 0.2 seconds between the standard version and the Improved rigidity version over a 1.44 lap

So fear not, if you have done the rigidity improvements already this will still work pretty nicely, however if you do find it a little bit too low and the bigger kerbs are giving you problems just drop me a message and I can give you a kerb friendly set-up to try out instead.

Have fun and enjoy your drive!

Edit: After a discussion with @XS about the problems we had tuning this car I gave it a little thought and believe I had the "Eureka" moment that we were both looking for.
After doing my normal testing at GVS I decided to take the Garaiya to Deep Forest as this is where I think the old Arta really excelled and made a few changes to the suspension and LSD. These seemed to do the trick. So without further ado here is Version 2.

I battled this darn car for hours the other night. Every setup I tried just produced the same lap times. I tweaked and tuned and tweaked and tuned for hours on end and couldn't find one shining setup better than the rest. I tried everything I could think of, then just started throwing random numbers at the suspension to see what resulted, still the same EXACT lap times as the very first tune I made for it, and that was only one second better than the stock suspension settings. At 550pp the best setup I had produced a 1.10.230 on Rome and the worst produced 1.10.890. As far as GT300 cars go this one was the most confusing to tune. The WEDSPORT Celica produced some very odd suspension settings for its best tune but this thing didn't care what you threw at it, it just wasn't going to run any faster.

It is a rather odd one! I tried a really soft setup with stock ride height, a really hard setup with a low ride height and this one and I was expecting a much greater deviation in lap times than I found too. I did 1.46.5 on the stock settings and only managed to knock off about 2.5 seconds, with all 3 set ups within about a second of each other and I think it pretty much all came from the Drivetrain changes. For sure I was expecting a big difference between not improving the rigidity and doing so but again...not really. It seems that most of the changes were really just altering its feel rather than making it lap any quicker, It's still about 1.5-2 seconds of my benchmark 550pp race car time but doesn't really have the power to match it.
I'm going to give it another good run out at the weekend with my partner and see if we can come up with anything else as I'm sure there must be something I'm missing here. It is always possible that PD just did a better job on this one than some of the others from the start...Who knows?

Either that or we're going to have to wait on Mr P showing us how it's done

Yup, I'm having this conversation about the Europa in another thread. Just can't find the "eureka" setup, probably going to have to wait for Praiano, Motor City, or Clueless on both LOL.

I saw that thread too, I think it must be something to do with short wheel based MR cars, in the last game it was only the Stratos that was that bad, there seems to be a few of them suffering from the same problems in this game.

Another GT300 car has been given a little going over down here under the mountain. I remember the Asparadrink version well from GT5 and as I recall it was only ever second place to the Garaiya on the twisty bits. This version should give it a run for it's money and should leave it for dead on the straights!
And no the number is no coincidence, this thing is a fighter with superb cornering ability and will always give as good as it gets, so there was only ever one number I could put on it's Racing Plates!
We here under the mountain remember the mighty Marco Simoncelli #58, Requiescat in pace!

Fancy something a little bit different?
The Prowler doesn't look like much but she will turn a few heads wherever she goes. Take Motegi for example where this car was tuned. It was faster in a straight line than any other 500pp car that turned up on the day and was surprising all their drivers with it's cornering ability. She will never be super competitive but will be a whole bundle of fun. Just don't under-estimate her too much!

Have fun and enjoy your drive!

This is a tune I have been working on for a little while now and have been trying a few different ideas to get it sorted. However I spent some time today trying to help a friend learn how to tune and he wanted to try the Scuderia. So a good few laps round Suzuka and a few tweaks here and there and now I believe it's ready go.

As good a 600pp roadcar as I have driven so far and a true Italian Stallion.

Enjoy your drive!

I am glad i stumbled upon this gem of a garage. Just drove your Alfa and Honda NSX. Both are a joy to drive. The Honda is a beast, Like you said just a tad slippery in the rear. Very responsive. i detuned to 550pp and this is a keeper along with the Alfa. Look forward to trying out more of your tunes. thank you.

Thanks for the kind words @SGETI as you can see we have only just started out and are trying to get a name for ourselves but everything seem to be going really well, and yeah that NSX tune is a popular within our little racing community glad you have liked it so much, between my self and @Thorin Cain we hope to put up a rather large batch later this week

This been a hard car to tame but it has been done. the car still has very small amounts of lift-off under-steer but it is only noticed on smaller tighter tracks/corners, other than this this car is still as quick and fun to drive as it was i GT5,Hope you enjoy as much a i did tuning it :).

An old personal favorite and this car is still fantastic in GT6. The new physics have improved this car even more which make it all the better in my eyes, only draw back to this car is the lack of power and the top end which mean a places such as Monza you may find a struggle to keep up.

This has to be my favorite touring car in the game its big, its powerful but turns like a dream even at 575pp it will give most 600pp cars a run for the there money, dont believe me ? try it yourself then sit back gloat in to glory of beating your friends with 25pp less.

Thanks @SGETI, I'm giad you liked them, I think the Alfa can be a lot of fun, but I'm really happy with the NSX. It should be quite hard to beat :D

I'm curious to know you thoughts on the Scudria if you have got round to it yet. Feel free to post here or PM if you'd rather. I think there's a little more potential for this car to improve and I'd appreciate any feedback you could give me.

This is the first of many S2000 tunes to appear here in out little garage. We have been playing with a lot of the Tuned S2Ks as well as the Race Cars. So there will be loads of tunes coming for these soon.

I have been testing this tune a lot as I wanted to make sure it worked where I need it, usually around Laguna Seca, Trial mountain and Deep Forest but I have run this today around Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit (1.22.3xx), Rome (1.05.6xx)and Apricot Hills (1.15.6xx) and was surprised to see the Lap times I was getting. I knew this car was good, but I never expected it to be so competitive at 550pp.

Have fun and enjoy your drive!

Edit: Damper values changed due to Compression and Extension being entered wrong way round. Sorry for the mix-up guys and gals! Fixed now.:)
