New Hyundai Accent/Elantra?

The Hyundai I liked the most was the late-model Sonata ('04-'10) It's aesthetic strength came, if not from being downright beautiful, than from being nicely proportioned, with pleasing-but-not-overdone detailing. I liked it for its restraint - the new one just screams 'TRYING TOO HARD!', like most of Hyundai's newer products. But oh well.

The new Accent & Elantra (or whichever one is which - I used to be able to tell :indiff:), look too much like shrunken Sonatas. Kudos for the effort, but it's just not for me.

Really loving those new Korean cars, shame mine (Chevrolet Aveo) isn't even in the same league design-wise. Would love to see an Elantra coupe and a 3-door Accent on the road here in the States.

And how about that new Kia Optima?

Bump.

Elantra Coupe. :) (not sure what's up with the dent)

The dent? Looks like a photoshop to me.

Considering all the other photos that were taken, which you can find at the link provided, I highly doubt that car is photoshopped.

EC Dent -> I would think some jerk in an SUV/CUV slapped thier doors on the poor Elantra Coupe, given by the height of the dent. I have it on my S2K too... :grumpy:

BT -> The excecution of the Elantra Coupe is very well be spot on! As if the car was originally design as a coupe rather than a Sedan. Can't wait for the Touring version thou...

Going by the window sticker's and the red sticker to mark it as a damaged car, I'd guess this was just in a delivery lot waiting to get sent to a dealer.

The Normal Elantrazzz Have been selling like Crazy Here (Egypt loves a Good Korean car).

Infact My Aunt bought one  but anyway why would one want to Buy an Elantra Coupe :odd: /Awaits Explaination

2004-2005 looked nothing like the 2006+.

Wait people think the Elantra coupe looks good? :scared:

Elantra looks great. The Accent not so much.

Hyundai, Hyundai,Hyundai...

I would never by one by i have to giev credi where its due.
The new Sonata. The old genesis coupe and the Elantra look fabulous.!
The new look Genesis is horrible imo.

No.. The Elantra Coupe is ugly :yuck:

The Sedan is fine, but it has too much design element from the Sonata. I was hoping for some sort of individuality from the Korean since almost all the European car makers like Audi, Mercedes and BMW are going for a ''One sausage, different lengths''. Cost saving much...

The Elantra Coupe's face is that of roadkill that got run over front to back.

Hyundai Elantra GT? Now are they following BMW's step? I'm guessing the next one is Sonata GT?

Sure thing.

No, they've had an Elantra Touring for a long time now. And the ET was better than the regular Elantra anyway. This one has promise.

Oh, I didn't know that. Thought they were following BMW and might challenge the upcoming 1 Series GT... This Elantra GT is definitely going to be good. It has the looks eventhough I now think it's a bit Mazda-ish. I think it's all good for it.

The Coupe meanwhile is not my cup of tea. It looks like a facelited Chevrolet Cobalt to me.

I just wish it were a little bigger. Here's the old one:

They need to make a new one that's maybe a little bigger. Maybe a new Kia Rondo.

Sure thing.

You can see where the tire went in that groove that runs over the top of the car. I can't possibly be the only one who thinks that the front end features look like they're being stretched backwards.

Now you're being racist against Koreans.

^ There was a sedan version too, but I don't care about that one.

All the Elantra sold in Malaysia are all in sedan form. They were good and also something different. However, the resale value was absolutely horrible! But I'm pretty sure the new one will be better because judging by the way of the new Sonata, Hyundai is ready to be a big market in Malaysia.

That elantra coupe. Maybe a Kia Koupe rival??

I prefer the simple looks of the first gen over the new one with all the squiggly lines. ~~~~~

You know what I hate about 1st gen. is the red GT badge, it just look out of place on that car.

The new one looks like it does not have it.

I seem to be in the minority again. I LOVE the newer Elantra styling on both the coupe and the Elantra GT. Looks better than a lot of other recent economy cars.
