Was just in Best Buy in Manchester New Hampshire USA. They now have printed pre-order cards for GT4 and it states on the card...

In stores 3/16/05

Again, I know you can't trust retailers dates but there is more and more circuimstantial evidence that Sony is leading retailers to commit to mid March.

Best Buy has had those cards out since the release date was 11/17/04 ... then 12/14/04 then random dates seemingly drew from a hat for january - febuary.

But they seem to have the "New Offical release date now". Most people are agreeing that it will be the 16th of march.

These posts are getting ridiculous. Someone, maybe the thread starter, should just keep a list of a bunch of websites that people in the post mention and list the "release dates" for them on one big post. If a release date is changed, just let the guy who's keeping track of it know, and he/she will change it.

Just a suggestion
to keep this thread orderly, easy to read/get information, and not having to read 20 of the same posts that say "EB games has it 3/2005 still".
I'm not expecting anyone to do it.

If the US doesn't get GT4 before Europe I will personally learn how to build a letter bomb, then make one and send it to KY. We didn't get prologue, we didn't get a whole crapload of demos, and now we're going to be the last to get GT4. This is retarded. If our version was delayed in order to translate it, why can they release it in 50 different languages in Europe before they release it in 1 language in North America?

For one, quit blaming KY.. the game's been out of PD's hands for weeks now. Blame SCEA, they're the ones that didn't give us Prologue, they're the ones that didn't give us any demos, and they're the ones sitting on their corporate asses while the fans are pining for news.

On one hand, that makes sense. On the other hand, they may want to release it next to the Xbox title to see if it wins ( in much the same fashion as a race )

Either way, we are all still subject to the whimsey of Sony in the end. The worst part is that while all this time of jerking us around ( and being tight lipped about it ), they know we'll still camp out ( yes, even you guys with pre order slips ) the night before it's released to get our clammy little paws on it so we can drive home and turn into social hermits, consuming vast quanities of nuts, candies, chips and the beverages of choice, and eventually crawl out from under our GT produced rocks only to see sunlight and retreat back into the warm breasts of mother GT.

It sucks! but it'll be cool.

The delay is not due to them wanting to release GT at the SAME time as another game, especially on another platform. It would make sense to release a game before so that anything else will be inevitable compared to it in value, as was mentioned previously on this thread. I admit to not reading the last few pages, but what is a possible reason for the US to be delayed past the PAL version? Jedi, perhaps you know.

On there website it says the U.S. release date is March 05. This is probably about as close as your gonna find for right now.

Lucky them! Why should that bother the rest of us?

As I'm sure you are aware Polyphony is a Japanese company, the game is developed by Japanese in the Japanese language so it seems natural that they would be able to launch in Japan first.

Why should Hollywood films be available 6 months earlier in the US than the rest of the world? Why should the French/Germans/Indians/Russians have to wait to have the film dubbed or subtitled into their language? Simple they are made in the US so the US gets them first. English is also spoken in the UK (where it came from!) so there is no translation required at all but we still have to wait months.

It's only a game/film (delete as applicable), sure it would be nice to have it RIGHT NOW, but its not stopping me giving food to my wife and kids or having a roof over our heads or anything really important. If I want to play a game in the meantime I'll play GTA San Andreas, GT3 or Prologue.

I'll get GT4 the first day it is available in the UK, and I'll be as excited as anyone else to do so. Meanwhile I'll check GTP at least once every day and check out the new screenshots and reports that the guys that have GT4 are kind enough to spend their time making for us.
