Just to Confirm the UK Release date has been moved from March the 18th to the 11th of March, don't think you boys will have to wait much longer than that.

There is also supposed to be 12 more cars in the uk version than the Japanese version.
 
Just so you know .. some people here will yell at you for calling it the Japanese version, type the 'anese' next time please. I remember something like that blowing up about a month and a half ago, just a fair warning.
 
There always speaking about 10 cars more so it will sure have those extra cars and probably those extra options as well but I hope they put the save option in the pitmenu.

I live on O'ahu in Hawaii and we get our stuff the same time that the rest of the US does. ...most of the time. I was all happy that GT4 was comin out...I have been off for a few days, and I was lookin forward to pickin it up today and gettin some quality game time in.

...then I checked the Gamestop website. 2/22? ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

I have been playing the Japanese version at a buddy's house since the JPN release. Very fun. I can't wait to actually be able to read what the hell is going on. ;)

Gran Turismo 4 dated for Europe
European gamers anxious to get their hands on one of the year's most anticipated driving games got some good news today. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced that Gran Turismo 4 will hit store shelves of PAL regions March 9. The PlayStation 2-exclusive game has been relegated back to the shop several times, delaying the game for more than a year. Gran Turismo 4 was released in Japan on December 28 and is enjoying impressive sales numbers, even though it missed the holiday window. There is still no official release date for the driving simulator stateside, but according to Sony, North America can expect Gran Turismo 4 sometime in the first quarter of 2005.

B. i asked "how would you know?" cause in fact, nobody knows the date
C. i pointed out that if EB is right, EB and gamestop are under the same company yet both their dates are different

All i can say is congrats for you european folks. march 9th still does seem quite a bit away for me though. thats half way to summer here.. lol.

In the states all releases are normally on Tuesday I do believe all shipments come in either on the weekend or Monday. So any date that is on a Tuesday for the States is closer to the truth, imho.


I don't know about the rest of the world.
 
but the 9th is a wednesday and 11th is a friday, so why are you starting about tuesday?

I think the only reason the US doesn't know anything about a release date is just because of an other addition of secret cars. I just feel it :)

EB is right, not sure about gamestop or wal-mart, but bestbuy is 3/16. I have a pre-order slip from them saying 3/16.

Anyways, I was wondering where Cosmic heard that GT4 will not be released in America around mid-march.

I just went to Bestbuy.com and it says 2/23/05.
 
The release date is in March. I've called Best Buy, Electronics Boutique, EB Games, Gamestop.

They've all gotten word that the release date is March 14, or March 15. 3-15 is my birthday, so I have B-Day gift now.

Watch the American version not have anything new.
I say PD is doing this to us Americans in revenge for WWII.

I am going to hold out on this game despite my need to be angry at PD.

However, like many of you will, I will be very disappointed if the date is pushed back past 3-15.

If it is, I will find it very difficult to buy GT5.
But that'll be a decade from now.
 
:lol: Way back in October/November when the last delay came up, on my website I guessed that "maybe it will be out in time for my birthday in March" and from how it looks now, it might just happen :).

In the US, Tuesday is when all retail stores put all new items such as DVD's, CD's, Games on sale, has to do with the shipments. Why on earth is beyond me, but everyone almost always goes on sale here on a Tusedays. But if you're getting it through the mail, you'll get it a few days earlier, I'm guessing.

I really hope so but any new cars, should've already been built, they just need to be "installed" I really hope we get the 12 cars that Europe is getting as well as some bonuses. It's been great to see it so far though. It'd be nice to see more Dodge/Chrysler and Cadillac (something tells me there will be since those two have a place in the game just not as large as others.)

The only 3 race cars I'd like to see are Dan Gurney's Toyota Eagle Sports Car, to race against the Nissan, the Cadillac LMP even though the US part of the team sucked until their final few races, and the Panoz LMP.

But hey, it'll be out soon enough, we've all waited this long.
 
Gamestop told me sometime in February, while most other major websites such as buy.com, amazon.com, and ebgames.com are saying March...
 
Congratulation to all of you PAL region PS2 owners, and for once PD shows interest in rewarding their costumers. Last time you where shafted with only two F1 type cars and no Nomad lamborghini and stuff. But you did got Prologue and GT Concepts. I only hope that this time we are not the ones who get shafted. Please PD at least include all that there is in GT4 PAL and if you happen to read what I just posted and is in your powers throw in some american cars. :D But don't remove a single thing and if you release any other games in the GT series don't forget about us.
