Forza looks great, for being on technology from the last century (DVD) If Turn 10 used BD I'm sure they could come real close to GT.

the question is why don't xbox use BR's? maybe it IS a BR drive, but they are planing on releasing the drivers as DLC:lol:

Ok, this ends it all... GT = Better Graphics : FM = Better Sound. Done.

EDIT: maybe PD and T10 should merge. Haha.

Turn 10 car models are in the same ball park as GT5 models minus details like proper looking carbon, leather etc. The problem is the 360 hardware cannot produce it in real time and that's why the cars lose 1/3 the quality/polygons when you race them. Pretty sad that in this day and age a racing game comes on 2 DVDs.

And anyone who's owned GT5P knows that every single car keeps it's level of detail in realtime. The interior does not get blacked out. Pretty sad Forza fans try and claim a picture of a GT5 car in shadows means its lost LoD.

Fast forward to about 1:10 in this video. Quite obvious the cars keep all their detail in realtime

Forza 3: best looking Landscape.
Gt5: Best looking Car Modeling.
Yes car models are better inside and out. But I have to admit, I was shocked how stunning the backround graphics were in the Forza 3 demo. The backrounds have always sucked in Forza but they are a massive improvement in F3. They truly nailed that this time. Cars have never looked as good as GT but you also have to consider the Forza cars are all modeled for damage and to hold around 4,000 vinyls. GT5p does not have damage and the cars dont leave tire marks.

So you either have graphics with no tire marks and missing a lot of content. Or you tone down the car graphics a little and have all the content. Considering everything you can do in F3 and all the content it has, I think its a stunning game.

You also have to consider they have only been working on Forza 3 for 2 years. They have been working on GT5 for what?? 5 years? Just imagine what T10 could do if they worked on a game for 5 years.

I don't like how they've done the R8. It's supposed to be grey plastic but in FM3 it looks like chicken wire. R8 is on the cover and have teamed up with Turn10 so I don't know why they did it like this. Some other cars in game have nicer plastic vent/grill parts so why not use the technique on the R8?

Edit: Where's the detail either side of the rear window?

What does the menu screen R8 look like?

Forza is a good looking game though. Lacks the LOD system and lighting. Can PD do some decent texture bump map effect that naughty dog and epic do so well.

GT looks more realistic imo.
Forza looks more game-ish if that makes sense.
In Forzayou can see the road textures repeated which looks pretty bad once you've noticed it.
Forza cockpits arnt as detailed as GT.

That Speedo in the Mini cooper is massive in forza 2.. i mean 3 I'm sorry... But with thoughs pictures, it looks like a slightly revamped version of forza 2.

Pretty damn good shot of Forza 2, that some how look's betten then shot's of 3.

Not to mention they completely black out The interior.
Simple i am aware that you want to defend forza 3 and i respect that, But that game "Ingame" is looking old for this generation. The bull shot's they posted looked very good, But.. after seeing it, and playing it in "Real life" Turn 10 come off as straight up liers.

Ingame.

Forza3 "IMO" Does not look any where near GT5p, Let alone Need for speed Shift.

I agree 100% Turn 10 LIE about being best HD graphics..

Dont jump on me for my ignorence here, but how can they have HD graphics from a DVD? The best they can have is 480P with upscaling, right?

Turn 10
This is why automotive engineers from manufacturers like Audi and champion race teams like Peugeot as well as experienced computer graphics specialists from across Microsoft Corp. have all teamed up with Turn 10 to make "Forza Motorsport 3" the most beautiful and realistic racing game ever made.

They can get HD graphics from a DVD but it usually has to be extremely compressed. Like how Itunes sells HD movies that run around 6-7 GBs which would fit on a dual layered DVD. The bitrate of the movie is around 1.5mbps, with 250kbs sound, while a bit rate on your average blu-ray is 30-35mbps with uncompressed 3,500kbs sound.

Forza 3 is coming out on 2 DVDs

You guys do know that a game is not a movie you are playing?

Or are you playing your PC games in SD quality aswell on your pc's....

dear god :ouch:

Don't get me wrong Forza 3 isn't bad to actually play but the graphics actually make me cry. The ingame, not all the fakes we got from T10, are so "gameish" and not smooth at all. If they'd only said they had really nice graphics it would of been ok, but the fact T10 went on about F3 being the most beautiful really grinds my gears because it just isn't! Its a huge fake, I'm surprised Forza's even on 2 discs and not just cardboard cut-outs of 2 discs!

Yes, DVD9 is just a storage device for gamedata. 360 can output 1080p from data stored on a disc.

Bluray is just more storage space. Both 360 and PS3 are HD consoles for game data.

GT5 looks better - but I prefer the head location of FM3 for Cockpit...

C.

I completely agree. GT5 did choose to go with a more realistic head position in cockpit. But it looks like FM3's is much more use-able. I always find the cockpit views in Prologue to be cramped and distracting (though I occasionally switch to them 'cause they're sexy)

And I don't know if anyone's said this, but props to GT5 for using Sparco racing gloves, instead of slapping the game logo on them like Forza and Shift did.

Forzacentral's best fanboy in here crying all over the place with bitter tears streaming down his face

Forza 3 does not compete with GT5's graphics no matter how many vynils, tire marks or whatever that other games in the market have too.

Turn10 had 300 people working on the game while there is only 110 people at PD ,who knows what they would do if there as numerous as Forza's team :sly: ?

All the content as :

no shifting animations ?

no windscreens ?

No fonctionning hud such as in the ZR or the Z06 ?

no mobile aero even on the game's icon : the Audi R8 ?

Not to mention that all GT5's cars now take damages .

You're not up to date and you only posted to calm the pain of a precise point of your body

For me, while Forza 3 displays only eight cars per race and Prologue sixteen, the answer is clear.

...As far as interiors, GT's view is more closely related to the view you get when driving, you see your arms, and you're at a distance from the HUD, but in the forza pics it looks like some granny is driving, hunched forwards squinting....

A 70's Mini advertisment :P Maybe not 100% politically correct, but funny :)

This resembles Forza 3's cockpit view so much its scary. The way she grips the wheel even resembles Forza 3

It's not necessarily the physical location of your eyes... it's the focus too...

I don't tend to focus on the roof of my car when I drive - thus I can't see it.

C.

I'll quote my previous post in regards to "head" position...

👍 good post ^_^

@ DonZonda

Haha at the new Forza 3 comparison pictures. Just some of it might be true but it's still pure comedy :) I'm going to check out the Forza forum now and scout that thread.

And yeah there's nothing wrong with the Subaru comparison on GT5, I think that's the point, lol.

no shifting animations ?
They've already explained that they ran into difficulty with it. It was either let the hand float through the wheel or leave it stationary.
no windscreens ?
There are....
No fonctionning hud such as in the ZR or the Z06 ?

no mobile aero even on the game's icon : the Audi R8 ?
They tried to moving aero as well, couldn't get it going properly.

And you're not making yourself look any better....

I was quietly thinking the same thing :sly: Forza doesn`t look too bad overall though,GT5 looks more polished on the whole.
After 5 years of development I would sure hopes so.
Keep in mind, they have only been working on F3 for 2 years. :sly:
I will eventually own and enjoy both games. Great time to be a gamer thats for sure.

How does a higher-capacity disc mean better graphics? I can see the argument that BD can store higher-resolution textures but when it all gets loaded in to RAM, it doesn't matter where the data resides.
