I need to get myself a Fissure Machamp.

Aren't OHKO moves usually disqualified from competitive play anyway?
Only on the fanmade Smogon. I'm pretty sure they are legal in VGC.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if Fissure receives a nerf then, because that sounds like a recipe for disaster truth be told.

That or Machamp's ability does not include OHKO moves.

How can you nerf a move that can OHKO???

Besides, VGC is doubles and Fissure only hits one Pokemon at a time (not to mention Legendarys like Rayquaza and Mewtwo are no longer banned in VGC)

By reducing the accuracy of the move. There you go.

By not making it a OHKO move, common sense really. Or making it exempt from always hit abilities.

Machamp can have No Guard, so that does nothing.

Not making it a OHKO ruins the whole point of the move, it would just be another Earthquake/Magnitude/Land's Wrath. Also not making it OHKO for one Pokemon literary ruins it for other Pokemon that can learn.

It could exempt but I'm not sure how they can implement it, and it makes the ability worthless as punishment for this ability is that attacks towards to you also don't miss meaning even opponents could OHKO Machamp if faster.

There's gonna be a huge Metagame change most likely to accommodate Gen I entering the fray once more so it wouldn't be a surprise to see a total revamp.

Applying the rules of Gen 6 to a game we don't even know anything about is just naive.

I doubt there is going to be a huge change, a total revamp would cause a massive outcry with fans who have a tonne of competitive Pokemon in Gen 6. Besides, the Fissure Machamp isn't even that OP when you think about Flying Types, Special Sweepers and other OHKO move Pokemon that could screw Machamp.

There hasn't been a revamp since Gen II and that was because the Pokemon type matchups in Gen I were messed up.

Gen 7 will be the same Pokemon we all love just with minor tweaks to make it more appealing and balanced and completely changing what a move does in its entirety would really throw off a lot of people, a total revamp is too risky. The only rules that are going to change are levels of accuracy, move power and what hits what in a double/triple battle.

Since Gen 1 doesn't have abilities, I very much doubt any Machamp that knows Fissure will be assigned No Guard as an ability in the first place. Even if it does, it still only has 55 base speed with 90 HP and 80 Defence.

Besides how many one shots can you get with a choice item anyway.

Through breeding it could be possible providing it is an egg move. (I don't know if it is, truth be told.)

I think it'll be randomly assigned an ability.

I honestly would prefer to go for a Eviolite Machoke :P

Fissure Machamp breaks the pentagon rule, guys... (as do all Gen 1 transferred pokemon)

Doesn't the Pentagon rule only apply in most VGC formats?

Exactly. And Fissure is banned in all Smogon formats except AG, which means Fissure Machamp will be limited solely to the battle spot, which isn't exactly the finest example of good balance in the first place.

Ability Capsule. Unless they give all Gen 1 transferred Pokemon their HIDDEN ability, which would honestly be a pretty cool idea (even though the only Gen 1 Pokemon with unreleased HAs are the legendary birds).

Smogon isn't really a format I'm talking about since it is fanmade and not really a legit competitive scene but that does make sense.

Guys... this is crazy but I think they're going to announce even more new Pokemon games at the Nintendo Direct tomorrow!!!

These were just trademarked:

Pokemon Pokemon Version and Pokemon Digimon version. Seems legit. Where can I pre order it for my Nintendon't 6DS? Gamego? GTPlanet?

The Regi Trio with hidden abilities are available for anyone with Pokemon Bank now.

Which is dumb.

I never stated an opinion on the matter  (though I agree).

I know you didn't, I just felt it should be said. As someone who has played VGC stuff, and spent countless hours IV and EV running, every new rule change to undo the dedication one needed to be the best is making the VGC in general dumb.

VGC was never any good anyway, though I guess they added more holes in the flaws.

Incase people are going to say that I'm a Smogonite, I actually don't like Smogon either.

Anyway, does anyone have a Totodile with Dragon Dance and its Hidden Ability? I take IV Breed rejects as IV is never a concern for me.

I don't like Smogon either, i just care for VGC cause it's official but yes never was balanced. Both are diminishing returns of balance. So I guess I'll just go learn Pokken.

There is no chance that a no guard Fissure will work every time.

Pre-orders are exclusively available by sending money to my PayPal account.

By the time it comes out, $4,000,000 will be equivalent to $40 today... but you can preorder it now for only $1,000,000 and save 75%!

Speaking of pre-ordering though... who's preordered Sun and/or Moon? I'm on Team Both. :D

Not even that as a reason. Just a practical one.

Well is it even confirmed that it will exist? And two yeah a faster pokemon will probably be able to beat it before the OHKO, so the practicality of it does seem to be non-existent for the most part.

Pokemon Moon will be my English playthrough and my main game while Pokemon Sun will be my Japanese playthrough.
