Rules
  • Standard GTP OLR rules apply.
  • Race hard but keep your head and respect the other driver's.
  • If you run wide into a paved out of bounds run-off area you must not remain at full throttle. Driver's are expected to lift to ~50% throttle to remove advantages gained by running off-track.
  • Pits will be open during all races, however it will be entirely optional and up to the driver's discretion to decide if they want to use a pit-stop.
  • Use your head and we'll all have fun out there. 👍

Point System
  • Each heat will score points for the top 16 finishers in the following order:
    20-17-15-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
  • The scores from each heat will be added together to determine each driver's weekly score.
  • A driver that wins all 3 events in one week will earn 3 bonus points for completing a "Triple".
  • No other bonus points will be awarded.
  • The Season Champion will be decided by adding the top 5 scores of each driver.

Penalties
PURE | Infraction Points System
Simple -
You get infraction points for any offenses listed here:
  • 5 for warning
  • 20 for cutting (Beyond warning)
  • 25 for Rejoining track without regard to oncoming traffic, or reckless driving
  • 35 for aggressive driving/punting, Illegal blocking
  • 45 for running another car off track (No damage)
  • 60 for causing avoidable damage
These infraction points will accumulate through out the season. At the end of the season drivers will have their total "IP". The IP score will be divided by the number of races you've started.
This number will then become your penalty percentage which means that that much percent of your total points score will be taken off as your punishment.
Say you scored 300 points by the end of the season and made 9 races with 140 infraction points.
140 / 9 = 16 (we will round up).
16% of 300 = 48 points taken off your total score to make a final score of 252.
Penalties will only be calculated at the end of the season. All race results will be final immediately after races are complete.

In the event of accidental infractions a driver can avoid incurring IP by realizing when they've made a mistake and pulling off to allow the affected car back in-front.
Any action taken is at the full discretion of the PURE stewards. If you wish to raise an issue which couldn't be resolved between drivers via PM; please send me a PM.

Car-Spec
-- A few notes about the cars we will be driving...

I have a couple levels for what a "stock spec" car is:
  • Showroom Stock || buy it and drive it
  • Street Stock || 0-mile + oil change
  • Stock || 200-mile break-in + oil change

I don't want everyone to have to break in 18 cars, so this will be "street stock".
  • We will be racing with 0-mile cars that have had an oil change.
  • Tuning will be prohibited beyond brake balance adjustment.
  • Breaking in the car and power-limiting it down to the correct level will give you a small advantage, so please don't do it. Practice can be done in free-run mode without adding miles to the engine. So please keep that in mind and respect everyone else's fun by bringing the right car.
  • The Jag Race Car is 20,000,000 ... plan ahead.

General

  • Start Type: Grid Start with false start check
  • Penalty: None
  • Race Finish Delay: Slowest Qualification time rounded up to nearest multiple of 10.
  • Visible Damage: Off
  • Mechanical Damage: Light
  • Slipstream Strength: Weak
  • Tire Wear/Fuel: On
  • Grip Reduction on Wet Track/Track Edge: Real

Regulation
  • Vehicle Tuning: Prohibited
  • ABS: Optional *
  • Traction Control: Optional *
  • Active Steering: OFF
  • Skid Recovery Force: OFF
  • ASM: OFF
  • Driving Line: OFF

Race Room
  • A new Triplet will run every Saturday from September 8th to October 13th.
  • Racing will start at: 10.00 Pacific | 13.00 Eastern | 17.00 UTC
  • Room will open approximately 30 minutes early for connection time.

Each Triplet will consume approximately 2 hours
  • 1h racing + 30m qualifying = 90 minutes of action
  • 30 minutes for delays, track resets, etc...

Order of operations
  • 10m Q1 + 5m break
  • ~15m race 1
  • 10m Q2 + 5m break
  • ~15m race 2
  • 10m Warm-Up
  • ~30m race 3

Qualifying
  • Drivers will qualify in a 10 min session (Q1) before the first race and before the second race (Q2).
  • The track will be set at 17:00 UTC. Everyone who is taking part in the Q1 session is then required to join track. At that point the steward will signal a green flag for the 10m Free Run.
  • Q-sessions will use "Collision Disabled" to turn off draft and ghost cars
  • When the allotted time limit has expired of green flag running the steward will call "Track Closed".
  • After time is expired current laps will still count, push to the line and then return to the pits.
  • Wait on track in your pit box while steward records grid order and timing.
  • Quit back to the lounge when instructed by the steward that the times have been recorded.
  • There will be no qualifying session for the 3rd longer heat-race.
  • There will be an optional 10-15m warm-up during which the steward will calculate starting positions based on each driver's total time from the first two heats.
  • If a driver did not reach the finish the first DNF will be classified at 10s behind the last finisher with additional DNFs receiving +1s thereafter.
  • At the start of each race the track will be reset and the race steward will call drivers out on track in starting order.
  • Drivers will park in order on track until the race begins to ensure a correct grid start.

To register you will be required to make an account at the PURE website.
This account only needs to be created one time, if you've competed in a PURE event in the past, use your existing account.
Having a PURE account is only used for stats tracking and so our website can automatically process scoring.

Once you have a PURE account you may sign-up for the series.

You will be asked your level of commitment when signing up. If you're planning on attending 5/6 weeks and compete for the championship you're considered full-time.
If you'd like to run "as many as you can make" but don't know if you can commit to the full schedule you should register as part-time.

Finally PURE is doing this, been waiting for you guys to do more stock racing. I had fun in that spec Miata TC series.

Yeah, this has been in the works all summer. Gotta carry the spec racing torch for RT. After the 'day of FR-S' I realized it's possible to run multiple races back-to-back and have it go smoothly. So we're kicking off fall with a bang.

This is hand crafted to be fun but difficult so I expect we should have some very good racing. 👍

I like this concept. In fact, I like it so much, I just registered instantly on the PURE-site, so I will be able to take part.

Will it be frowned upon, if I miss the first race though? I have every intention of making the other races, but I will be abroad for the inaugural event.

We understand life happens, your lowest score gets dropped so taking a week off isn't a problem. Advance notice is all we ask. 👍

Haha, yeah, we've been buried in race-car suspension setups lately. Time to focus on the driving. :sly:

As far as the jaaaaaaag goes, it is also available as a prize car. IIRC b-specing the vintage championship gives it.

Newbie that I am to PURE, I have one question. There was a combo box in the registration asking for my "commitment", with "full-time" or "part-time" as choices. Can someone tell me what this is exactly referring to? Does it mean, if I want to take part in some races or the full championship...?

I initially picked the "part time" alternative since I'm not sure I'll be able to make at least 70-80% of the rounds. But I certainly hope I will.

Yeah, it's there so I can gauge commitment, if you're planning on attending 5/6 weeks and compete for the championship you're considered full-time.
If you'd like to run "as many as you can make" but don't know if you can commit to the full schedule you should register as part-time.

That might be the handiest solution, if you don't want to a) spend 20 million credits, b) race 2 boring hours with an X201x around an oval without so much as lifting or have already done it with the account you're using, or c) don't have a 66-ticket (or level 19) lying around.

Thanks for the tip on where it's winnable. I think a reset ticket should work, but to be honest I've not used one so I have no idea what they really do. ;)

Just signed up as a part time driver, as my work schedule is hit or miss on Saturdays. I know I am going to have to miss the first weekend, hoping to make more than I miss though. Love the series concept, just get in and go!!
