Okay, I'm confused. As someone brand new to the Xbox One and its new way of doing thing, I have a question about the new DLC. I didn't get the Ultimate package, so I didn't get the car pack thingy. I'm wanting these new cars, and I see that they are purchasable in the store. Does that mean that they are out now? Will/Are they (be) available in a pack or just separately? If they aren't out yet, and will be in a pack, what will the price more than likely be?

Also, where the hell is the Goliath race I keep hearing about?

Well, I checked the youtube comments and there's people whining about the idea Turn 10 is holding these cars behind a paywall and claiming that Turn 10 is ripping people off by doing this. *facepalm*

I know I shouldn't read youtube comments, but I can't help myself, I get curious on how silly some of these comments are.

Xbox DLC tends to come online around 10 or 11 PST on Tuesdays. The pack may be visible in-store, but you won't be able to actually see it or the cars in-game until the game update comes out (around that same time). The game update includes all of the DLC cars for the purposes of racing against others; you won't get that weird blacked-out VW approach that the 360 did this way.

Cars tend to be purchasable separately for $2, so it's cheaper to get the pack once you pick more than a few (packs are $7). You can also buy the Car Pass separately at any time; it'll be available for the foreseeable future, so if you want to hold off to know the contents of all six months, you can, and still get the discount it offers then.

It's a race around the whole map. 9+ minutes in even S2-class cars. It unlocks when you max out the Byron Bay location (Level 5).

I feel a little silly, because I had no idea about that, and left Byron to the end. So I have no way to access that event right now despite being pretty far into the game. I did a few races around it with friends though, and it's... fun. I don't like using the S2 cars, but laps are just so long in anything else.

Question 1: Not sure if the DLC is out yet, but it will be today, and yes, they are available as a single DLC you can buy even if you only got the standard version of the game. There is one car that is free that you can download if you don't want the whole pack. Not sure which one is the free car yet.

Question 2: The Goliath run is a race around the outside of the map and it will take about 10-15 minutes depending on what you're driving. It only unlocks after you expand the Byron Bay site to level 5.

While we're talking about the Goliath race, yesterday my friend did 15 laps of it with his HE BRZ(which gives him an XP boost.)

It took him about two hours, and he levelled up 50 levels iirc

I did a 2 lap race in a stock Lancia Delta HF since I didn't know anything about the event.

37 bloody minutes

I had to restart my XB1 for the update to show up and getting started.

The Update is very slow- mine is only peaking at 2mb!
Mine was peaking around at 600-900 kb/s before going up and averaging around 50 Mbit/s.

Edit : .....and done updating.

woot I didnt even see nothing about this dlc until the game asked to update. lol great surprise!
I just dropped 3mil on the old 1956 jag+mods right before the update, but I guess top speedin' in the old hag will have to wait :)

edit: both the classic Renegade AND the classic cop car? haha well done!

@MXH did you restart while updating? Mine has gone so slow but now started again and don't want to mess this up I only have it on digital, tempted to just leave it running at 1mbs :boggled:

TFW you have one of the new cars before anyone else... IRL, and in a tiny version

Good idea might try it with my Huracan Horizon edition and viper horizon edition.

The update is going to take up some time so I might not play it until next day.

In the mean while, just going to play FM6.

Gonna copypaste my post from the Forza forums just to temper peoples' expectations...

This applies to PC only, or at least the performance stuff.

"Patch is a pretty massive downgrade, and I'm not even sure what it's even for at this point besides adding the DLC.

The performance is *worse*. My framerate and stuttering in Surfer's Paradise are worse than they were before. Other areas are okay, but they were before. No positive improvements.

Also, the only vehicle asset bugs I've noticed previously (the patch claims "vehicle assets fixes") are either completely unchanged or actually worse. The inline 6 engines are still all shared from the BMW M4 (besides the new M2) so the RB26s and 2JZs sound identical. The Alfa Romeo 75 had a bug where the driver's hands constantly shook as if he was driving on a dirt road - now they shake twice as fast.

Photo mode is still blurry and looks nowhere near as good as Xbox One unless you're downsampling from 4K (and let's face it, most people probably don't have the horsepower for that with this game).

Absolutely nothing I've noticed previously has been fixed. Not happy with this patch but I suppose I'll still enjoy the DLC, capped at 30fps that is."
