"... As we rushed up to it (the line) everything for me was in slow motion. I was thinking: 'I'm in Italy, on the last lap of the Italian Grand Prix, there is a huge crowd and no photo finish equipment. These are excitable people.' So I put my hand in the air as we crossed the line, on the basis that, even if I hadn't won, the judges would think I had because my hand was up.
