They won't say a specific date yet because if they miss it by a single day people will scream: "PD can't get their priorities straight! They're always late!" You should atleast wait to see what they will be giving us because none of us know. It might be more than the 97T.

You know the solution for this though? Putting things out on time. Other companies manage to announce specific dates for things and 9 times out of ten stick to them. If PD can't even be sure when they'll have DLC out within a 4 week timeframe then they really are awful at scheduling.

It is not about celebrating... it is about the memory... But if you remember a person who died 20 years ago like a month later then it doesn't look good... Do you celebrate president Lincoln's birth or death a month later?
PD are (trying to) celebrate their 15th anniversary throughout the year, why cant the Senna content be the same?

How very convenient for them that would be. (I don't see much in the line of 15th anniversary celebrations either)

Bottom line is the rest of the world in every medium covered Senna's anniversary on the right date nearly 2 weeks ago now, and unsuprisingly PD completely missed the boat.

The time has come and gone for it to mean what it was supposed to, now it will just be the usual late additional content but with Senna's name slapped all over it, it's embarracing.

Edit: and a slideshow!! Really??? How long would that take to make? 1 hour? They could have at least got that out on time...

It's just failiure after failiure in every way, shape and form.

The Lotus 97T appears to be good to go and the trailers & slideshows cannot have taken them much time to create. Delivering this bare-bones update in two parts is just silly.

If there's more content (race circuit(s), cars, events and etc.) besides what they've announced so far - it could've been easily added at a later date.

@MrSulu I wouldnt say they completely missed the boat because they did release a Senna video on the 1st and they never did say the Senna DLC would come May 1st. PD are extending his anniversary so that it covers the entirety of May and not just one day.

Extending his anniversary? That's a very diplomatic way of saying they are utterly incapable of releasing things on time. Inconsiderate Ayrton should have died a few weeks later just to accommodate PD 20 years down the line.

It's a kind of fail from PD , I mean the Celebration Date was two week ago. Now no one media is talking about anymore of Senna now. So it mean only people who are already playing gt6 will know and speak about this content instead of if it was realesed on 1st probably a lot of general and sport media would have talked about Gt6/PD and this commemorative Senna content !

I don't think the point was to drum up media attention amongst news networks...

Oh humanity, whatever shall we do ...

So much Melodrama going on, it's getting irritating.

Indeed. Some people can't seem to let any comments slide, even if it's just an afterthought to the main, on-topic point a person is making.
Yeah, but every single time with every single post.

Yes, I get that some people are disappointed with the game, and yes I get that PD had made some mistakes. But does that give the chain for someone to post every single time the same crap.

If they have a point, show it. If they don't then expect a response accordingly. A discourse loses all kinds of meaning and value once it becomes noise poorly backed and poorly justified.

Wasn't this proven when people started with the "PD will just post a couple of slideshows and call it a day", then they were proven otherwise and went with whatever else that didn't even had to do with the topic.

They couldn't get the content for May 1 (and even so, it would have been incredibly distasteful to have content celebrating the life of the guy on the date of his death), people also ignore that such partnership also included the Ayrton Senna Institute (which BTW was appropriately publicized and given to the general public, in order to showcase the several social problematic in Brazil, something that Senna would have wanted as he could not keep promoting it after his death and his family still rightfully did so) yet people still bitch for whatever other reasons they can find just because their unrealistic expectations are not met (yeah, talking about the hype that some 🤬 takes when someone posts random information about amazing tracks and cars, and when people have some degree of sense they can expect at best 3 cars and maybe a track given PD's record).

They said late may, then so be late may, we are not even surpassing the second half of may, and even then people are already calling them late for not releasing a thing BEFORE they announce it.

Edit: Yeah, at the end of the day you need two to start a fight, so the correct thing to do is to not give any degree of 🤬 to :censored:ty posts.

They did honor Senna on the 1st.

https://www.gtplanet.net/ayrton-sen...-new-gran-turismo-6-content-documentary-film/

The video was about Honoring him and the institute and came out on the first. They also said that they would be releasing more throughout the month (like the slideshows).

I guess because WE didn't get anything on the first for GT6 that must mean they can't be honoring HIM. AmIright?

As some people already mentioned above, PD never said the content will come May 1st, saying that they missed the deadline is pure madness since their deadline is the last day of May.

If we don't get the content on June 1st then i'll join the people with the swords and axes.

Until then...you might want to go out and have fun.

What is that black magic!

I wonder if they'll release the first slideshow before close of business in Japan today? It's getting on for lunchtime already.

Why would SRW do that, though? Especially since the game is PC only.

Like I said previously, to maximise sales. If SRW is the ONLY place to drive those cars and someone really wants to drive them, they're going to pick up SRW. If however they're available on a console game, even in smaller numbers, someone with both a console and PC might pick that up rather than the game for their PC.

Probably not. I could be wrong here but I think they normally use EST when talking about launch dates and times. So we might see the slideshow as early as an hour or so from now, but more likely sometime in the middle of tomorrow.

FWIW...

One does not 'celebrate' the anniversary of someone's death, one 'marks' it, usually with respect.

Celebrating a death is generally regarded as poor form and should be reserved for the truly despicable, such as Stalin or Hitler.

Saying you are celebrating the anniversary of Senna's death is appalling phrasing - I know that's not what any of you mean, but given how pedantic you like to be you should at least get that right.

You may now return to the scheduled grumbling.

Every since my PS3 kicked the bucket, the lack of content doesn't seem so bad. I would feel left out if PD was actually doing anything.
