Did you take a pessimism pill overnight or something? This discussion is very confusing, it's like roles have been reversed.
I'm taking a reasonable approach.

I have all the faith in PD getting this out. I don't know how many times i've had to say i'm not being pessimistic. But nobody can say with 100% certainty that both tracks are completely finished. Nobody. No matter the circumstances.

I remember reading about how various corners couldn't be modeled because of broadcasting possibilities.

For example, the tunnel at Monaco or Moss Corner (T5 at Mosport). The radio signal was unavailable at those points of those circuits.

Mosport, especially, where the literally impassable forest at T5 meant that the only way to get to T5 was on the track itself. There are no access roads, so a radio tower can't be constructed. Only via satellite, was it possible to broadcast anything from T5, until like 2000. :lol: to this day, it is impossible to walk from T5 to T8 without walking on the track... Not during racing, of course.

In the case of corners like those, there are very few records of what the corner is like exist from those days. Research is important.

With all due respect, what on earth are you talking about?

No they can't, but I don't get why it's even being questioned at all.

If Lotus sounds like an F1 car I will drive for few hours on the those remodeled tracks. :cheers:

Doubt AI will get a boost and with how it is now...

Oh.

PD, please give us the 97T in quali trim. It's dead scary and brilliant.

Lots of love, GTP.

Outside of photos, onboard videos, and aerial photos, some tracks will not be well-documented. Some corners are still difficult to recreate.

You are implying that it wouldn't take long to recreate the 80s layouts of tracks, but it requires a significant amount of research. They can't go and laser scan a non-existent layout which was destroyed by modernization.

Though, in balance, the harder it is for them to be historically accurate, the less it matters if they actually are... Who's going to know?

Depends how you define significant, 90% of the track layout for these two course hasn't changed. For the parts that have as you say, they just need photo and video of which there is plenty around for 80s tracks. Then you just adjust the track loft to match. It'll never be 100% accurate like a laser scan but it doesn't need to be. People on PC can have a pretty accurate loft of on old circuit done pretty quickly.

I still don't know what you were talking about with radio towers and walking across the track though.

Anyone who drove the course. In the case of Mosport (I am a local, forgive me for using at as an example a lot) many people drove the circuit in the 80s... Almost no one had GoPro or similar - the costs for equivalent technology on those days was immense. The camcorders in those days were often more expensive than the average track day car. :lol:

Unless it was a televised event, it was uncommon. If it was a televised event, it was a radio-based signal with loss of signal in various parts of the circuit... Just try to find video of Monaco through the tunnel from 1980s. I challenge you.

Sorry if double post.

The logistics of building a radio tower at Mosport T5 to reduce signal loss are worsened by a forest. The forest is even impassable on foot. The only option was to transport the radio tower along the track itself... :lol:

Do you think on board video is the best source of reference or something? Photos and external videos are far better for track modelling purposes, of which there are plenty.

Precisely my point, if your average gamer can't find the info, they're never going to know if PD fudged it or not. How many people do you know who drove Mosport in 1980 and play GT today?

A few. More spectated. Perhaps even more at Monza and Brands.

Mosport is related to Senna content how..?
I am only using it as an example of a corner which is not as easily researched. Again, there are fewer videos from various corners. In order to get to T5 at Mosport, you need either wilderness survival/climbing gear, a boat :lol: or (as flag marshals do) a ride on the track itself. To this day, there is no access road.

Some news from (Official) Playstation Blog of Brazil:
http://blog.br.playstation.com/2014/05/12/gran-turismo-6-reviva-os-momentos-lendarios-de-senna/

- Release at 27th May;
- New mode called 'Senna's Challenges' in the main menu;
- Just 'time trials': beat one of 'Senna's Challenges' and receive one of his cars;
Lotus 97T
Track: Monza 1985
Target Time: Pole position Senna, 1,25.084

Lotus 97T
Track: Brands Hatch de 1985
Target Time: Pole position of Senna, 1,07.169

i hope this content is all that Sony Latin America can reveal us today...

Mkay, now back to the Senna stuff...

Might be using Mosport as an example.

Although, I'm not sure if Mosport has actually changed since the 80s.

As far as Monza and Brands Hatch.... Monza is just a reprofiling of the lesmos and changing the first chicane, and Brands Hatch is just changing the chicane to a normal right hander, as far as track layout goes. I don't think there were any other changes to the circuits, aside from period correct signage and other trackside objects, like more grass at Monza instead of asphalt runoffs.

Exactly @GTPorsche. But, every year, the pavement degrades slightly, New bumps appear etc. So, every track has changed.

...I am really just explaining that research is important, and can be difficult.
