Timo Glock hints that he might rejoin the F1 grid this year

He's keeping the team a secret, but all I can think is Renault to replace Palmer, or maybe Haas. All the other seats seem pretty solid - yes, that includes moneybags' Ericsson and Stroll.
I don't see Glock replacing K-Mag or RoGro at Haas. Both have scored Haas points this year. Palmer seems like the obvious option, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Stroll or even Wehrlein go away.

There's a tiny chance that Wehrlein was pumped full of painkillers and may actually not be "fit" to really finish the season I guess (and they won't waste any more millions of dollars on that guy who crashed a bunch of their equipment). I can see Palmer gettin' replaced.

What exactly is the problem with the brakes?
Is it the fly-by-wire system?
Cooling?
Bias?

If they know, they're not telling.

They're still saying that they need to do more running with Carbon Industries brakes to see if the problem's Brembo specific. Who else on the grid uses Brembo? I have no idea, I dimly remember that Hamilton liked CIs while Rosberg ran Brembos... but whatever, if it was a Brembo problem I'd be very very surprised.

During the Russian Grand Prix, Martin Brundle observed that Brembo used to be the best brand, but then Airbus bought up all of the good stock and so racing teams got whatever was left over.

So Renault are going to be sponsored by Oulton Park and Snetterton?

Neat.

How bad do you have to be for Pastor Maldonado to turn you down?

Very, apparently.

He's not saying who made the offer, but at a pinch, I'd say it was Sauber (or possibly Manor before they collapsed).

I doubt Maldonado would have the same financial backing as before.

That and considering how much more difficult it is to drive today's F1 car, does anyone really want to see Maldonado give it another go?

Sounds like the usual "I could have but didn't want to" response someone gives when they are too full of themselves to admit shortcomings.

Sauber are open to running Honda junior drivers in 2018:

I'm taking that to mean Nobuharu Matsu****a. I think Nirei Fukuzumi is also a Honda junior, but he's still running in GP3 and would likely need to run in Formula 2 as well. I suppose Nyck de Vries could be considered a de facto Honda junior driver given his ties to McLaren; if McLaren want to promote him, Sauber might be the only option.

Techically it could also mean Lando Norris who is under Mclaren if that relationship between Mclaren and Honda still stays together.

I don't know if the others have enough Super license points though.

Not about driver transfers but a really excellent interview with driver coach Rob Wilson.
