How do you find the driving in GT Sport compared to Driveclub? Personally I find the driving in GT Sport pretty boring compared to Driveclub.

Go play that instead then?

Thanks for the useful input.

Didn't really like the feel of Driveclub, but granted, I didn't spend much time on it.

Then again, I'm more sim oriented when it comes to racing games. It's really up to personal preference :)

They are 2 different platforms of racing. Driveclub focuses on exotic locales and cars found more on the road and street racing.. Also geared towards the arcade man in me (and is more towards single player IMO}.

GT caters more towards circuit racing, more focus on race cars, kind of the opposite of Driveclub. Geared more towards the Sim in me).

Driveclub was pretty much the first game I got with the PS4...

Its disappointing... 30fps and the cars dont seem to drive very much different from each other apart from the speed differences.

It pales up against stuff like PGR4 etc. I found all the driving challenges to be quite boring.

It does have nice rain though.

Driveclub is a really fun game to drive around in. But the physics are really funky on bumps combined with a few invisible walls close to the apex. These factors made certain tracks an absolute hell to drive around.
But the feeling of being on the edge of control, certainly in some of the faster cars, made it an absolute joy to play.
I agree that GT Sport feels more dull and the tire physics are wonky, but being able to tune the cars and the better multiplayer (and rumours of new tire physics) make playing GT Sport most satisfying for me over all.

It wasn't useful nor unuseful, it was just a question...

"How do you find the driving in GT Sport compared to Driveclub?"

It depends on the people themselves. Some may find GT dull and some will not.

Other racing games offer a sense of speed whether real or exaggerated. I do play Dc at times then I play Gt Sport and it does feel dull but for me I get over it. Because DC on a steering wheel is so awful.

GT Sport's drive model is another universe compared to DriveClub.

However saying that I can adjust to lesser models.. I quite like Horizon 3, I dont even mind going to something ridiculous like Ridge Racer 7 etc. but I personally didnt see any point to continue with DriveClub... and it seems many people didnt either because its like $5 from the local GameStop equivalent.

When i'm done playing DriveClub, i'm either frustrated at the (not rubber banding) AI or happy I finished in first place before they could "magically" pass me before the finish line.

When i'm done with my FIA races in GT Sport, i'm either frustrated at the Sports Mode "AI" or happy I finished in the Top 5 with my DR improved and no penalty whatsoever. I'm also swimming in my sweat and I need to take a shower.

From PS4 racing games, they are all pretty much fun.
Dirt 4 and Dirt Rally are super super fun. Drive Club is cool. :D NFS 2015 isn't that bad .... All singleplayer races of this games are descent.
But on GT Sport - singleplayer is super super BORING. But multiplayer is super cool to play from time to time. ;)

Just to give you reason why GT S singleplayer sucks.
Cars are driving like they are on train track. They don't have any contact with other AI cars ... they are just driving around track with no others.
They should just put time to beat then and it would be cool.
Compared to Grid Autosport AI cars - GT S AI model is garbage.
Like they are "dead" or something, just driving around like they are on train tracks, without other stuff .. pretty "lifeless".
But yeah, multiplayer is super super fun. Just singleplayer - not worth it. :D

Do you have any objective proof it rubber bands . Because in over 200+ hours of playing DC, I don't think I have ever seen it rubber band.

DriveClub has a visceral sense of speed that GT Sport doesn't have (unless you're driving Gr.1 or higher cars), along with the incredible weather system, more beautiful scenery, and generally more satisfying car sounds.

But in terms of actual car model simulation, it's not even close. GT Sport is just much more enjoyable for tossing a car around the track and its 60fps provides more precise control and visual feedback than DriveClub can muster.

I loved Drive Club, it was (and still is) a great arcade racer, with an awesome sense of speed. If you're not really enjoying GT Sport, then chances are that sim racers are probably not for you.

It doesn't and this is the reason I've put the link to the article where the developer's explains why.

The AI cannot cheat, and will never artificially catch up to you! They will slow down a little though if you get to far behind.

Some cars are faster than others, and the AI will look for an opportunity to overtake when the player names a mistake.

I remember having situations where I could finish a race in 3:30, only 2-5 seconds behind the leader. Then, I was telling myself that if I do a 3:25 or better, I have a chance at winning, but then I finish with a 3:15 and still lose. Finally, I beat them a couple try later with a 3:10. It did fell like rubber banding at the time.

What I understood from that explanation is that you can struggle a lot in a race, but still finish close to your AI opponents. However, even by making a good (but not great) race, you may still find yourself in a losing position because you are still not racing the AI at their limit. Then, you finally make that great time and the AI is not able to catch up because you outpaced them appropriately. These two lines made it easier for me to accept the challenging AI by knowing they had a limit I could aim to beat.

I hope it clarifies my previous post.
