My Time with him Genesis.. Thanks to @praianos and its Great Setup ... It can be improved by achieving the exact braking points Great Setup Praianos. Thanks

Had another crack at Sardegna in the Genesis after trying a few other cars, but for me the Genesis is best.

Started at 1:26.321 and am now 1:26.101, still using Praiano/sti_03's tune.

I'm now #52, directly below sti_03 (#51) with 1:26.088.
Hey mate the faster I can go so far with the Megane Trophy '11 is 1:26.355, but there is room still out there with the Megane to try to catch you and @lfm58 on my friends list. Tomorrow I will try the Genesis and see what it can do.

Keep some throttle input when braking to those corners. It stabilize the bugatti.

I left foot brake so this was one of the first things I tried. Doesn't really help that much. I just sacrifice a bit of corner entry speed for stability now. Loses a few tenths but better to have consistency than spinning every lap. There's more laptime to be gained elsewhere anyway.

Probably that heavy W16 quad turbo at the back is the reason  Plus the Gr.1 car doesn't have the airbrake that the VGT version have so the problem is compounded.

What will be the secret of that Nissan in Sardegna The Speed is Impressive With respect to the other Cars ... What will it be ??

Well my internet connection is out and a technician won't be coming for a look until Wed 6th Nov, so I think that's me out of this Time Trial.
Good luck everyone, see you again next week.

Well what do you know, woke up this morning (Sat) and one of the boys is on their Playstation, internet is back on and a message saying the technician visit on the 6th is off.

Hi All
Im new to gtplanet, new to sport mode of GTS, but i love time trialling. I didnt realise there was a time trial option, so now im actively chasing good times with my trusty controller. With the GTR GR4, i cant remember the time, but i got place of 1050 before bed last night. 1:27s or so. Tune was near standard. Being close to 4 seconds off the fastest times, i knew something was off. Seeing builds here, omg my builds are so bad! But time to improve and chase the dream times. Hope to see you all around here sometime soon.
VolSig PSN, feel free to add or not or whatever. See you all around this forum.

Hey, welcome aboard! :gtpflag:

So correct me if I'm wrong, but ideally, one would want to tune the individual gears so that when they shift down, they'd almost be at the ideal shifting revs for their current gear, right? Like for the main straight, I've tinkered with the final gear ratio so that I'm barely reaching the end of the 6th gear, rather than still having a lot of it left by the time I need to brake for turn 1, or alternatively redlining too early, resulting in a loss of otherwise beneficial acceleration on the main straight.

So for another example, on the straight just after the first checkpoint, I'd imagine I'd wanna barely be reaching the end of the 4th gear before I downshift to tackle that sharper turn that comes after a much more broader turn (which I usually take at full-throttle), right?

Yes, ideally you want to be hitting the limiter in top gear on the end of the straight. This allows you to achieve the maximum allowable acceleration throughout the rest of the track. Taking Sardegna as an example, by the time you hit the braking point, you want to be at maximum speed. Its the longest straight of the track. Why have access to another 50km/h - 30mph when you will never hit it.

You also want to consider which straights on the track are most important to hit top speed in a gear. Even if they are really short. Can you set up/change your gears to so you are hitting the top of your (for example) gear 4 before braking into a corner?

This is getting really technical, but that how race cars and race teams manage their gears. Ive had some family be a part of a race team here in aus. They change a lot, and regularly. Where possible, you want to hit the limiter at the end of a gear as you get to a corner from a straight. Not always possible. But if you aim for this as close as possible, you get the most out of the gearbox.

Was having fun at the Spa in the Dailies so was stoked to see we get a Spa Time trial.

Awkward car though. Changed the gearbox a bit (hit and miss with me and the LSD) and managed 2:36.531. Then checked Praiano's tunes and found he had one so copied it. Problem is my gearbox set up was quicker, believe it or not, however I made the mistake of copying his tune over mine and lost my gearbox setup.
No matter, no doubt he'll have some advice when he comes here.

The sport medium tyres setting need a totally different approach for sure . Lateral grip and eagerness have to let the space to stability and traction. Gearbox is very important too.
I have a 2:34.0xx for the moment but there is so much to explore in settings and driving line ( I'm far to be a SPA specialist :nervous:)
I will publish a first draft soon

EDIT: for the gearbox it's good to have a 2d gear between 157 kmh to 160 kmh , 5th gear at 305 kmh and intermediary well spreaded between. 1st gear is only to gain grip at the apex of the hairpin , out must be performed in 2d , also as the out of the last chicane .

Great combos!

I have a question though, hope I'm not being oblivious and this has been covered already :D

Is there still no way to see final rankings from the Time Trials? I really like this addition to the Sport Mode, but kills the buzz quite considerably not knowing where your final standing was.

Not officially from PD, third party wise this is the only one I've seen: https://gtsport.r1s3.net/vault/7

I wish they’d get rid of tuning for the second one.

It's good to give the tuning guys something to chew on, stopped them from moaning in the FIA/Daily threads ;)
