Every update brings with it the possibility of undocumented changes to the game. Please post any undocumented changes you find in the game and I'll update the OP regularly to reflect any changes found. Please also make a concerted effort to verify these changes and not just report unconfirmed rumours. Be as specific and detailed as you can with the information including a brief description of the bug before it was fixed (if applicable) and how it was fixed. Poorly worded or cryptic posts will probably get passed over.

This IS NOT a discussion thread about the pros and cons of the update or anything else other than undocumented changes in the update. Confine those to the appropriate thread please.

New bugs, glitches, errors etc. should be recorded here:

Undocumented Changes
  • Sneak peak at GTAcademy Final Round
  • 2014 GT Academy final round practice thread
  • Some people reporting positive changes to the AI, you'll have to judge for yourself.
  • There's a new bug where the "NEW" tag comes up in the car dealerships without a new car being present.
  • A bug in which tire wear and handling were affected after a pit stop seems to be corrected.
  • Smoke, snow, dust, water spray etc. much improved and no longer pixellated. This reverses a previous update which seemed to induce pixellation in these effects in favour of improved framerates.

  • Fixed a bug where you couldn't hear the Subaru BRZ (and other cars) engine sound in chase cam.
  • Overall best lap time is now displayed during a race as opposed to just in practice.
  • Fixed the bug with the Arta Gariya base model and Elise 111R Race Car where painting the wheels didn't actually change the colour. This bug persists with the Dodge Challenger R/T Race Car '70
  • Three new cars revealed for possible future release HERE
Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 Nissan GT Academy Team RJN '13 Pic
Nissan GT-R Black edition (GT Academy 2014) Pic
Mitsubishi XR-PHEV EVOLUTION Vision Gran Turismo Possible Pic
  • The low fuel gauge warning light turns on when it hits the red-mark now instead of just with one litre remaining as before.
  • From the documented change When [Grid Start with False Start Check] is selected in [Race Settings], signal lights will be displayed as start indicators, the time between lights out and go varies from race to race, it's not a fixed interval. Test Results
  • The option to "view data" (accel, braking, splits etc) on the screen used to have "display all" at the bottom of the list of available choices. It is now at the top of the list
  • When driving through the pits you can no longer look backwards.
  • Improvements to blur rendering in photomode as suggested HERE
  • Other improvements to blur rendering HERE

  • Replay music continues to play while taking pictures now.
  • An issue with the start/finish line in Mission Race IB-1 is now Fixed

Documented Changes
Vision Gran Turismo

The “BMW Vision Gran Turismo” has been released. Experience the modern road racer created by the BMW design team, resurrecting the excitement and passion of 1970’s touring cars in present day form.

Following in the tradition of the successful BMW touring
cars of the 1970s, the BMW design team has created an uncompromising road racer for the modern era.
Crisp proportions and a dynamic silhouette give the BMW Vision Gran Turismo the appearance of speed, even standing still. Front and rear spoilers ensure optimum down-force, while all air conduction elements reduce drag and lower the vehicle’s total weight through the use of carbon fibre.
The paint finish in BMW M colours traces the flow of the airstream, recalling BMW Motorsports successes.
The technology in the BMW Vision Gran Turismo is just as impressive as its uncompromising design. A powerful three-litre six-cylinder inline engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology delivers a maximum power of 404 kW/541 BHP between 6,200 rpm and 7,300 rpm. Its peak torque of 680 Nm/69 kgfm is developed at just 1,900 rpm. A sequential six-speed transmission, operated by gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, distributes engine power to the driven rear axle.
The outstanding performance characteristics of the BMW Vision Gran Turismo, which weighs only 1,180 kilograms, include perfect 50:50 axle load distribution.

After the update has been installed, the car can be purchased from the [Vision GT] option within the [CARS] section in "My Home". Alternatively, it is also possible to obtain the car by completing a lap (regardless of the lap time) in the new BMW Seasonal Event, available only for a limited time.

Adjustments to the Open Lobby

- [Endurance Race] has been added to the [Room Mode] option within [Basic Settings] of the Event Settings screen.

- [Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption] has been added to [Time Trial Settings] options ("OFF", "Normal", "Fast" or "Very Fast" can be selected)

- Choice of [Start Type] has been added to the [Race Settings] for Qualifier, Time Trial, and Drift Trial modes. You can now select from [Final Corner Start] or [Pit Start].

- When [Grid Start with False Start Check] is selected in [Race Settings], signal lights will be displayed as start indicators.

New features added to "Replay" and "Watch Race" modes

- Button controls can now be used to: Switch between "Full View" and "Live Timing"; to turn the "Driver List Display" ON/OFF; to switch the "Information Display" and to change the target car.

- The "Keyboard Switching Feature" has been added. A USB keyboard can be used to switch the "Information Display" and to change the view.

For more details on each of the above features, please refer to the online manual on gran-turismo.com.

@Johnnypenso quoting my self here:
Nice change for a while, pitstop bugs have changed position, from missionary to doggy..
Car has less friction/grip before pitstop now, and more after, also it easily goes faster laps after pitstop now..
Maybe we get horseback riding on next update.

The Smoke effect is fix also , no more huge pixels instead of smoke YEAH !
Also the physic change , Drifting is so good know ( so smooth ) ;) !

This is DAMN AWESOME but I have a question...
Is the framerate ok? I'm asking, because if you remember, in 1.06 PD decreased the smoke quality to improve the framerate.

Can we get some testing done on this for confirmation?

Everyone can confirm this easy on Online everything set real, normal or higher tyre wear, car STOCK R8 Team Phoenix, RS tyres, all aids off, including ABS, using Brands Hatch Indy layout track.

In the race or just in practice in an online room?

It was implemented in 1.06 for when practising, but never in the race itself
Yep, someone should test this (fastest lap in the race?). I would right now, if the in-game update didnt take that much long to install...

Seems that framerate is back to where it originally was. So better smoke quality, lower framerate
