I always asked myself....why sketches are so extreme in the proportions and they never produce what designers draw?

I understand car makers can't really apply 21" wheels with extreme tire width and lower the height
...but the rest?

Is it because of the overall weight of the car? Is it because of the aerodynamics?

It's a dream that never comes true

Hang on, the Top Gear link says the car has a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6. Why do I get the feeling this will reuse the awful 6-cylinder sounds from either the FT-1 or the BMW M4?

Because sketches are all about pure design and beauty. Then they become "corrected" in areas that need correction to make it reality.

Exactly it may not be technically be able to produce a working car based off a sketch ... Impossible angles etc

Man those lucky Germans, I want a pair of VW overalls! Wait a minute, the outlines of that car under the hood look NOTHING like the sketches?? (I'm just talking about the front bumper because that's about all you can make out.. it looks pretty smooth under that cover but in the sketches it has way more going on around the front.. hmmmm)

For all we know what's under the cover may not even be the VGT, but just a regular 85 HP golf

Given what Tesla is capable of, I'm actually looking forward to what Tesla can bring to the table for their VGT.
