Is there any space in the V8 at Bathurst on Wednesday still? Cheers :)

Yes - You are most welcome to join! Send a friend request to Sick_Cylinder2 via your Ps4. I will send you a message re cars shortly.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL DRIVERS !!!
We are going to try a different type of start on Monday and Wednesday - instead of waiting 1 second before leaving the line, just wait for the car in front to leave the line then start when you think it is safe. This should stop us getting so spread out on the first lap, while also being safer than a conventional standing start.

What's the date and weather conditions for Wednesday's race?
I set my practice room to June (Aussie winter) and the tyres wouldn't even heat up :scared:

In post 3 it says "current date minus six month" so I suppose it will be Dezember 20th in 2017 with summer conditions

You forgot - And with his eyes shut?

There's some seriously fast guys on a Wednesday. I'm not expecting the 3rd place finish I had on Monday. Unless it could be arranged for nearly everyone to crash on the first lap and let me through again. :p

Haha, fingers crossed for a pile up! Bathurst in a V8 is not the ideal introduction but I like a challenge. There are several off camber sections which will murder you if throttle control isnt good enough! I died many times last night :D

You might find useful a video of my 2:07.5 lap.

Any questions, just ask :)

That settles it then, @Sick Cylinder

@Napalm_LT : it was working as expected in the race. Up to the point that when the track was half dry and the car in front went over the wet side to cool down tires, your windscreen got sprayed. It was truly impressive.

I had time to put a couple of laps at Bathurst. Here’s the video of my fastest lap of the session: 2:07.5

I'll try to take the last spot tonight, but depends on how much my 10-month-old has been tormenting my OH while at I'm at work – he's pretty good at making her near-suicidal by 8pm, meaning I might need to be on bedtime story duty. Which is only slightly less stressful that Bathurst in a V8 with no driving aids.

I might need to be on bedtime story duty.
Once upon a time there was a man who lived in a country called Australia where everything was upside down. He drove a big car around some race tracks while wearing a hat that had corks dangling from it. He had a friend who was a kangaroo named Skippy.
"What's that Skippy?" He said. "You're going to stay clear of Bathurst tonight because there is going to be a load of idiots crashing into the walls."
"Stand in the middle of the track cobber, they'll probably miss you there." He told him.

:)

There's something about the sunset and babies... Werebabies?!
I'm back to work since a week now and both my homicidal and suicidal tendencies are far better, whereas my wife's are getting worse :scared:
Hope I can keep out of bedtime duty once a week on wednesdays for as long as possible

Tried this on Monday. Didn't work
No on Monday nearly everybody hit nearly everybody else!

Being an extremely excellent driver I of course avoided any contact whatsoever. :sly:
I'll probably crash at the first corner tonight now.

Werebabies
Ah the story about the Night of the Werebabies.

Once upon a time... I'll stop now.

Will there be a room for me if Don dont race?

Yes Napalm - have a good race!

I will be trying to keep out of everyones way - what with working extra hours and preparing for the new series I haven't had time to do any practise at Bathurst. I hope everyone has a good race and enjoys the next series!

Congratulations to Team Green (team champions) and DD84UK (individual champion)!

If any driver does not have the recent Le Mans Pack please message me and I will assign an alternative (slightly slower) car.

Congratulations to @IBZ6L20VT and Team Green! It was a hard fought and well deserved win.
It's a shame that keiros and bichu_mau missed quite a few races because of work, otherwise team yellow may have had a better chance at winning this one.

I enjoyed this championship very much for its difficulty as well as the close competitiveness. There were fantastic moments that I'm glad I recorded.
The car is amazing (and a bit of a handful on stock setup), and the choice of tracks was spot on. I wish the V8 Supercar class were further populated by at least the main rival Holden...

Again, welcome @IAMDOODLEBUG, you'll feel right at home here. Great pace in your debut! I enjoyed your battle with bichu_mau in the replay 👍

Looking forward to the next championship. @Sick Cylinder, due to holidays I'll be missing the following races:
  • Jul 11th - probably
  • Jul 25th - certainly
  • Aug 1st - certainly
  • Aug 8th - certainly
  • Aug 15th - possibly
As always I leave you with my footage of tonight's race.
