GT Sport Daily Races: Has Beans

Today is the first day of summer (or winter, for our friends in the southern hemisphere), and as a new week is upon us it’s time for a new set of GT Sport Daily Races.

This week’s events will see a rare appearance from a very strange race track, along with two more usual combinations that are Sport Mode staples.

It’s Race A that brings a dash of the unusual, with a ten-lap race of the rather odd BB Raceway. “BB” is short for “Broad Bean”, and the course layout lives up to that name with a mile-long, left-hand oval that features a sharp, 90-degree left and a right-handed kink in the middle of the back straight.

For this week you’ll be racing the Audi TT 3.2 quattro at this fictional circuit in a one-make race, and we expect plenty of damage to Sportsmanship Ratings across the board.

Races B and C are more traditional Sport Mode fare, which will both be good practice for FIA Online Championship events. The shorter sprint Race B will take you to the Interlagos circuit in Brazil, for a four-lap race in Gr.4 cars. These are broadly equivalent to GT4 category cars in the real-world, but unlike that class this race will likely see front-wheel drive cars dominate.

Meanwhile the endurance event in Race C will have you racing Gr.3 cars — equivalent to GT3 — at Spain’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. It’s a ten-lap race too, but there are a few special considerations.

Firstly, with a high tire wear multiplier of 8x, the race will feel like 80 laps to your rubber, so you’ll need to manage the Racing Medium and Racing Soft tires available for the race. However a more important factor is that both tire grades are mandatory: if you don’t use both sets for at least one racing lap, you’ll face a one-minute post-race penalty.
