New GT Sport TV Commercials Focus on Nostalgia and Competition

With the release of Gran Turismo Sport just days away, the marketing for the game is in full force. Everywhere we look we see ads spring up — but, that might just be because we spend all our time looking at sim racing content. One recent ad in particular struck us right in the nostalgia center.

Posted to the Sony YouTube Channel on October 10, the Go Get It promo brings fond memories from past GT titles. As the camera swings from car to car, we get a look at footage from both Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2. There also looks to be a bit of Gran Turismo 6 in there for good measure.

Seeing some of these old screens, even for a brief second, brings back memories of where it all started. This is especially so since we are entering a new generation of GT game with a new focus.

In addition to checking the nostalgia, we also get a few resonating lines about the competition. With the statement “we’re tired of racing against one’s and zero’s” it really makes a point. It’s clear that GTS is going focus mainly on the human element instead of AI.

Even if your excitement level is low for Gran Turismo Sport, seeing some classic footage on the screen is sure to bring you a smile. As for us, we looking forward to the new era GT Sport represents. However, we still have that special place in our hearts for the classics!
