Test Driving the Trio of New Cars in GT Sport

We’ve put in some seat time with the newest members of Gran Turismo Sport’s car roster.

Polyphony Digital released the 1.06 update yesterday. With it, the company introduced three very different cars to the mix.

Up first is the latest addition to the burgeoning Vision GT project. The IsoRivolta Zagato VGT is certainly distinctive, with its single-piece windshield frame and flowing lines. If you squint, or catch it at the right angle around Dragon Trail, you’ll be able to spot hints of the classic ’60s era cars.

Next up is the Audi R18. The final evolution of one of the most dominant prototype racing programs of all time, the R18 makes up for its… challenging looks with sheer pace and durability. It’s a very fuel efficient Gr.1 weapon, and should present a serious challenge to its Toyota and Porsche contemporaries already in the game.

We’ve saved the best for last, at least in terms of sound. The Cobra is an admittedly strange addition to the Sport roster; it’s two decades older than anything else, and also has to compete against modern sports cars in the N500 category. But the sheer grunt should aid it — plus the BoP system, of course.

These three new rides are just the beginning for the expanding GT Sport roster. Polyphony promises a dozen more cars alongside a more a traditional offline career mode. Which one is your favorite of the three? Sound off in the comments.
