QM has gone from one extreme (idiots ramming) to another (idiots causing incidents).

Perhaps by the time GT10 is released, PD might have it worked out – after all, they are still fixing everything from GT5P.

  2. DefytheMachine

I am having loads of disconnect issues with this ….. Do eventually get into a lobby but it takes sooooooo loooooong, sometimes I give up. Forza 4 did this miles better 2 years ago!

  3. Morgoth_666

Surprised there is not yet a permanent Nordschleife quick race event in one slot with rotating cars instead of tracks. Although if they did do that it would probably be ruined with SRF and RS tires all the time, knowing PD.

    1. TomBrady

These quick races don’t have SRF or racing soft tires so why would a Nordschliefe event have it?

I’m actually happy with Quick Matches because PD was smart enough to not allow SRF and use appropriate tires instead of uses racing soft tires all the time like the idiots on open lobbies

I don’t like it, too short, and then I do not understand how they make the grid order, I played the same event for 3 times and was always the last on the starter grid. Why? Anyway I am not playing anymore, prefer Grid Autosport on line, is so funny.

  5. Sasek

Why the races are so short? Can’t they give us some medium range races like 8-12 laps on metioned above tracks?

  6. Magic Ayrton

Quick match is fantastic except for the idiots that push you off.. NOT PD’s fault I agree but a pain nonetheless.

^^^ this is why PD needs to implement a driver safety rating system for these quick matches (for all online racing for that matter). I did some the other evening and it was pretty much a free for all with a lot of dirty driving.

    2. infamousphil

That’s why they have penalties. You ever notice the winner is usually the one with less mistakes or collisions?

My objections to the quick races are the severely limited choices of cars, the inability to tune or change cars and the all too frequent load failures. It seems boost is turned on as well.

Least they turned off the SRF on some of these events.

Omg this would be great if people stuck to what they are used to, I played in expert Apricot Hill race and people were still going into the first two corners literally on fire and barreling into cars ahead of them. So annoying and the car selection is actually lacking, where is the YouTube GTR?

Hoping PD adds in a rotating selection that chooses courses based on votes and is set to 400, 500 and 600PP selection of races.

Trouble is dimassa, you get used as a braking assist by those idiots if you are anywhere in the front pack. Technically they should go intangible and so have no effect on anyone but themselves, but I’ve seen players in the replay time their attack just perfectly and consistently to get ahead.

Thanks Jordan for using my picture. I’m honored actually. :)
I wouldn’t mind a Kei-Car Quick Race to be honest.

  9. BOSS_335

Its really great that these updates are included in the news feed. I’ve really been enjoying the events and the stability of the rooms has been greatly improved since update 1.13 (You can view races in progress when joining a room also now).

    Good stuff PD.

    1. TomBrady

Good. i was getting annoyed at the lack of stability.

Otherwise I love Quick matches. I’d like if they would add voice chat with the option to mute people or everyone with the touch of a button

    1. Zevious Z

Seriously. Anyone who thinks races with lower powered cars aren’t an absolute blast hasn’t been doing it right. C’mon PD how bout some variety?? There’s hundreds of cars in the game lower than 600pp…can we use a few of them to race?

    2. Allek

I actually prefer non-racing cars in Gran Turismo. It’s a driving simulator after all, not a racing simulator.

    3. Tenacious D

Here’s another vote for the PP band between 400 – 550. Less muscley cars mean tighter races and more need for sharp reflexes and technique. Yep, simulated racing, and it rocks.

    4. Allek

@Master Weasel: Of course they can, but not otherwise. You can’t really race a Midget or a Sambabus. What PD did in calling this a driving and not a racing sim was great, because it points out the relevance of ALL vehicles, including the slow ones, to people that love cars. There’s no need for speed all the time. Ooops.

    5. pitstop3343

I agree with you nickg07, unfortunately, most people who race at 600pp and above simply don’t have the skills to race cars that fast. How many times have you heard “dude, sorry, my bad” after some noob just used you for a breaking aid?? I’ve had so many races at 450pp where the top 2-3 cars were separated by tenths of a second……and no tombrady not using racing soft tyres.

  10. GT5 Level 41

Does anybody know how the credit payouts work with these? i’ve done a few these races and the payouts seem really low.

    1. Rikson

The concept is okay.Kind of a trip down memory lane to the old Prologue days.PD should add a special license before you could enter the “expert level” races.
And switch off boost or the ridicolous slipstream effect.

    2. coxbox

PD as mentioned we need more low pp races below 500 pp 300-400 range. I would love this in quick match. This is more fun then supercars and racing cars.

    3. AbsoluteBarstool

To be fair the supercars at quick race specs are a real challenge. Taking the chicanes at Twin Ring Motegi is especially hard in this case because you’ll find yourself careering around them at a billionty million miles per hour.

Although challenging drives aren’t necessarily fun, what I’ve found really makes a race fun (as has everyone else) is the equality between the vehicles used in quick races.

But let’s see what fills the 5th slot in the Quick Race menu…
