I was looking for info about completing this seasonal, but unfortunately the most i’ve read was about complains, complains, complains. I too believe that this game could (should) be much better. At least don’t flood every thread with it.

I was looking for the experiences you all had completing this events, but difficult to find with so much complains.

Im going to try the seasonals and after ill come back here to share my experience :D

    1. MeanElf

I look forward to it. I enjoyed the Cappuccino run at the Streets of Willow due to the challenge of the sun-glare when using driver’s view. Still not at gold yet, but I’m having fun getting there.

  2. gast1976

Since gt5. We are always waiting for improvments…
Annoucments are made but nothing follows….

    1. MeanElf

Not really true. There was Spec 2 plus a host of smaller updates on GT5. GT6 has has a fair few tweaks – true, a number of the major updates haven’t happened yet, but to say ‘nothing’ is clearly wrong.

  3. gast1976

    So boring…
At this time i won t purchase gt7….
But project cars will be an argument to buy the ps4…

I started a little late, back in December of 2010 and actually the same week as iRacing. I kept up playing GT5 for about 5-6 months till I’d done most of the challenges, tried all the cars I liked and till the seasonal events got too boring…. but started playing less and less as it became more and more frustrating realizing that the type of racing competition in iRacing just wasn’t present in GT…. its not present in ANY game actually, iRacing mimics real life racing, its ups and downs, adrenaline rushes, sweat … you name it. There are other PC games that are maybe nipping at the heels for realism and better graphics but the online player base isn’t there in anything else, there are 3500 player on every night minimum and typical races have 12-42 people… so even on PC iRacing how no real competition for multiplayer… its not a snobbish PC vs Console thing…. anyways I dont’ want to derail this I’m just saying I feel you guys, I didn’t buy GT6 but I know a few friends who did and they only got 1/3rd or half the replay that they did in GT5… so essentially Kaz is determined to continue making the exact game over and over again with marginal improvements along the way.

The protest has already begun with GT6. Now if people can resist GT7 on the PS4, then the message would be even louder. A new operating system does not produce a better game. We all thought the PS3 would make a great GT5 and GT6….the problem lies within PD and most likely, Kaz himself. Sony should consider acquiring more staff or encourage/demand Kaz try new things….or ask the fans directly. Thank God for competition, though….the PS4 will have more racing games to choose from, instead of just Gran Turismo.

  6. StealthRocket

In protest at GT for all the delays, false advertising and continues disappointments I would suggest that we stage a protest, that being for everyone to stop playing GT for at least a 1 week period! If all of a sudden thousands of us do not race online or even attempt to play the game and Polyphony and Sony start seeing their numbers drop in ratings it might just give them the proverbial wake up call they need! Who would be interested in joining me in establishing a set date for a GT boycott in protest at PD’s blatant disregard for it’s customers and fans?

    1. MeanElf

If you are so certain about it, why not start a thread about that on the forum, instead of here, where only those who are interested in doing the TTs come to look (and the vinegar pissers.)

Checkin GTP and reading the latest rant comments is more satisfying than playing the seasonals. That’s all there is to GT6 now and its promises

    1. Need4Speed685

And I bought it for a long, decent PROGRESSION. But, they decided to give us progression on par with Need for Speed: Rivals. :( Oh, and I bought it for DRIFTING (thanks Craig!).

    2. SnakeOfBacon

I bought it for the course editor/track creator and Vision Gran Turismo… I guess they’re not ready yet :”(

    3. Amac500

And I bought it because I enjoy fixing the disc reader on my PS3 that the intense GT6 disc and all it’s cashes causes.

Am I the only one experiencing issues with GT6 after the seasonals update thing? I try changing my Driving Options on the Tokyo R246 Pagani Huayra seasonal and it gives me a black screen and brings me back to the seasonals screen. After that I tried to go do the Red Bull X2014 Standard Championship Race 5 for some money but I can’t change the Driving Options and when I choose Start it says “This race cannot be started. The race information is invalid”. I have also noticed that instead of showing 12 cars it shows 9 and none of them show my name. Anybody else see this problem? If not I can always make a video of it and show you guys exactly what it is doing.

    1. Need4Speed685

Maybe perhaps quitting and then re-starting the game. I think that solved the problem for me.

  9. Flicky0069

I’m not a GT6 perfectionist, so you know, I’m not the best at the game but I like to think I’m kind of a good player. I can easily set the required 1:42.000 the hot lap needs for gold but because the Huayra likes to slide out (even though traction control is on 2 and skid recovery force is on) I keep tapping the wall on the second from last turn, it doesn’t reduce my speed hardly it just invalidates the lap I was on and the next lap… I hate that. I just barely touch the wall and the game says “Next Lap Invalidated.”

    1. Steph290

Just being smart here and avoiding the obvious TCS & SRF jokes. Your issue seems to be that you’re kind of a “good player” when you should try to be a “good driver”.

    2. Flicky0069

@Steph290 I don’t run with TCS or SRF (I only do when it’s in this situation) so don’t worry about that… If I wanted to be a “good driver” I wouldn’t be playing GT6 would I? I would be out trying to become a Formula 1 driver. I used “player” because that was not my main focus.

    1. testorz

I’m wondering if we’ll get seasonal races once GT5 is taken offline ! I sure hope so because I’m not a fan of the time trials.

  10. z71L28

PD removeing online portion of GT5 has ended GT for me. Been looking into PC sims and Im’ highly regarding the swich. Swiching to PC will also encourage me to get wheel. I didn’t mention GT6 becuse thay made to many changes that I dislike. I like GT6 and I love the series but GT5 did it for me and Its’ gone and so am I.

    1. iceman25

I’d go Iracing its quality racing and physics it will cost a bit to get started with wheel which is needed really. Me and my m8 quit gt6 a month ago coz we got feed up of it and I joined iracing a month ago and never looked back it’s top

  11. frank_492r

Totally agree, where is the DLC? what happen with the sound, this is the same garbage and the same story than GT5

  12. shaunm80

At least the coffee car challenge is challenging. It’s nice to have to work for a gold trophy!

  13. HaerBev

Yeah, nice to see my Huayra here.

Hope the two GT red metallic colors will come soon as they were my fav ones in GT5.

  14. tall white79

Im not negative I just want was promised or regular updates makeing standard cars premium, its not hard is it.where the senna content? You can’t tell me there still makeing it lol polyphony are a joke lol.gt6 is a very good game we all can admit to wanting more.i want more tuneing parts and better weather affects especially surface reflections and car engine sounds improveing.

    1. mistersafeway

The Senna content? Depends on what they’re planning, they may be due a licence soon and want it all to coincide. Monaco’s in 2 weeks (the week they’re planning to release it, right?), think about Senna’s history there, they may have another F1 car somehow. Tuning parts are unlikely, but possible. Surface reflections… forget it, they’d need to tear the game apart and remove other dynamic effects (causing major fan bitching), 99% not happening on PS3 without witchcraft. And they did mention sounds, so don’t rule it out, just don’t hold your breath… ;)

So basically, chill out, if they screw up the Senna pack, have at it.

    2. ryzno

I had to reread your post. I got excited thinking they were gonna update the standards. Back to my hole in the wall…

  15. tall white79

I see forza 5 has another dlc pack and gt6 still nothing.what are they all doing at polyphony digital?

    1. fggnb

Yep. No DLC in GT6 but the few cars wr get was free. We can say that PD are relatively fairs …

    2. gtfanforlife

Come on stop being such a negative person… They have given us a fair amount of content, maybe not all that they had promised but not everything always goes as planned.

    3. TokoTurismo

Their making another half-assed title to get peoples money after GT6 didn’t sell well.

    4. Swagger897

Ahh…. It seems as if Toko has grabbed onto my lingo of things :)

Yeah, quite really a joke how they rely on DLC now to sell their game…

It probably costs far more to produce DLC for GT than any other company I can think of, just because of how outrageously long it takes from plan to production..

    5. JASON_ROCKS1998

money grabbing? well last time i checked all GT6 dlc was free and there is no massive grinding to get cars. why not mention forza which charges money for cars from an older game? GT6 may have less features than 5 but things will pick up soon once GT5 servers are down

    6. HuskyGT

Based on what you say “things will pick up as soon as GT5 servers are down” ? As far as I know, PD hasn’t said anything about it. It’s the same as assuming the sounds will improve in a future update.

Based on how PD works, I can expect nothing to change even when GT5’s servers go down. As Toko says, they are probably already working on the next GT which will be missing as much or more than what GT6 is missing.

Prove me wrong PD. I dare you with my wallet in my hand.

  16. Jbaffoh

Initially, I saw three old and three new seasonals. The Huayra prize chip looked familiar, so I went to my paint booth to verify. When I came back, one old event, and the Huayra event were, and still are, missing.

  17. Baron Blitz Red

This would be the first time for only 2 events to appear if memory serves correctly, and seems strange to only look at 4 events total. Maybe that will change again…

    Cheers

    1. ildd

Hmmm… just turned my PS3 on and the only two events are the Megane and Suzuki; no Huayra. Strange…

    2. Morphisor

Presumably the Cappuccino seasonal is labeled as expert level and considered harder, like what they’ve been doing the last few sets of seasonals.
