This week’s spooky new Online Time Trial reaches a long way back into the Legend Cars dealership. Gran Turismo 7 hands everyone the Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder ’54 for a lap of Blue Moon Bay Speedway’s Infield A layout, on Sports Hard tires.
The Maserati has quite a story. The A6GCS/53 was built for the 1953 World Sportscar Championship, and this particular chassis ran as a Maserati works entry for Luigi Musso in 1954, picking up a class win in the Targa Florio and a second-place finish in the Mille Miglia along the way.

It later passed to Nevada collector Dean Meiling, and in 2014 Kazunori Yamauchi picked it out at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as that year’s Gran Turismo Trophy winner, which guaranteed it a place in a future Gran Turismo title.
It took its time getting there, finally arriving eight years later in GT7 Update 1.19 in July 2022.
A 1950s sports racer belongs on a road course somewhere in Italy, not threading the infield of a modern American speedway, but that’s the combo we have with the car running Blue Moony Bay’s Infield A course.
If you want a target, anything under 1:23 should be safe for gold once the event closes, 1:24 ought to cover silver, and under 1:28 should be enough for bronze.
Continuing Event

Last week’s Hyundai Elantra N TC ’24 event on the chicane-free Grand Prix layout at Barcelona-Catalunya, on Racing Hard tires, has one week left and closes on Thursday, November 5.
Worth noting for anyone browsing the Online Time Trials menu next week is that the Fanatec Gran Turismo Eifel Cup opens in the same place on Monday, November 2, with real hardware on the line rather than credits.

Online Racing Event
Would you rather race the Maserati wheel-to-wheel than chase a ghost around Blue Moon Bay?
The SNAIL Racing League runs casual online races each week on the active Time Trial’s car and track, and anyone is welcome to join in. Head over to our forums for more information!
Accessing Online Time Trials
Online Time Trials live in Sport Mode, which opens up once you’ve finished Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe. If you’re not there yet, our full unlock guide walks through it, and you don’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to take part.
Rewards are handed out when an event closes, based on how close you got to the fastest time. Gold goes to anyone within 3% (2,000,000cr), silver within 5% (1,000,000cr), and bronze within 10% (250,000cr).
A new event lands every Thursday, each one runs for two weeks, and the oldest drops off as the newest arrives. The next new Online Time Trial comes on November 5.
