Update 1.24 is now available to download for Driveclub. Weighing in at 400MB, the update introduces the long-awaited private multiplayer lobbies that were talked about earlier this year. The new feature has a variety of adjustable options and modifiers for the likes of grid position, gear changes, and camera perspective to name a few.

A calming air immediately followed by not only a sigh a relief but eye-widening glee; these are the sequence of emotional events that fell over the entirety of GTPlanet’s community in one fell swoop with the announcement of Gran Turismo Sport at Paris Games Week, the next title in the illustrious franchise – and it’s coming to the PlayStation 4 early next year beginning with a beta.

The Japanese Car Pack for Project CARS is now available in Slightly Mad Studios’ continued efforts to keep the game feeling new with fresh monthly content, and this month’s content delivers in a much anticipated fashion: Japanese cars.

As you know by now, Gran Turismo Sport was announced at last night’s Paris Games Week PlayStation Press Conference and is currently earmarked for a 2016 release, confirmed on the official PlayStation Blog, with a public beta expected to make way next Spring.

Following hot on the heels of everything we currently know about the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport, there is another fact that can be added to that list, one that answers a question many of you have been asking since yesterday’s announcement: Gran Turismo Sport is not Gran Turismo 7.

I couldn’t be happier with the state of things at the moment. I can finally sit back, relax, and catch up on everything and actually appreciate it, whereas this time last month all I could do was briefly glimpse at something before something else arose that demanded its own attention.

A new batch of seasonal events are now available in Gran Turismo 6 showcasing this week’s beginner, intermediate, and expert level challenges. The events feature non-race cars, turbocharged cars, and race cars going around technical outings – even including the Eifel location. Update: The update is now available for Xbox One users and weighs in at 2.3GB and brings the following changes specifically to the Xbox One, in addition to those shared across all the platforms.

This year has been defined by an unending torrent of news that made it apparent that 2015 was the year of the racing game; a niche no longer it would seem as the genre has been exposed to more people in the past several months than it ever has been. Codemasters have released the next major update for DiRT Rally, the team’s early access title currently available on PC, version 0.8, otherwise known as the Flying Finland Pack. With it comes 12 new high-speed stages from Finland, in addition to two brand new cars – the Subaru Impreza 2001 and Ford Focus RS Rally 2001.

As teased earlier last month, Assetto Corsa’s ‘Dream Pack 2’ DLC will introduce nine brand-new vehicles to the game as well as a laser-scanned version of Circuit de Catalunya, home of the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix. The cars included in Dream Pack 2 are as follows:

The Aston Martin Expansion Pack for Project CARS is now available as a part of Slighty Mad Studios’ “On Demand” efforts to continually keep the game feeling new with fresh monthly content, and this month’s content delivers handsomely by introducing three new Aston Martin racing machines: the Le Mans-winning 1959 DBR1, the V12-powered DBR1-2 LMP1 prototype, and finally the Vantage V8 GTE.

Summer no longer burdens me, for I am free to enjoy the crisp, brisk winds that usher in the final months of the year; autumn is here and as every year that has preceded, I couldn’t be happier. With September behind us things are beginning to calm down and return to a near-normal state, however, that wasn’t before the month ended on an unexpected high note: the Course Maker for Gran Tursimo 6 is now a thing you can use to your heart’s content!

The final days of September are upon us, and what an absolute joy this month has been: Metal Gear Solid V, Forza Motorsport 6, Destiny: The Taken King, and my birthday was even in there somewhere, but I’m pretty sure it swept past me being too occupied trying to absorb this relentless onslaught of racing games and the news surrounding it. On top of that my favorite shows are beginning to return from their off-season hiatuses, and best of all, summer is coming to an end! You all know my distaste for hot weather so there’s no need to reiterate it for the seventy-fifth time, suffice to say the last two seasons of the year are going to please my being immensely.

Project CARS is no stranger to the ESL as players have been enjoying fast and fair competition across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for several weeks now, and just this past Sunday hundreds more gathered to participate in the latest round of competition in the second round of the Kick Off Cup.

As I’ve alluded to for the past several weeks, September is almost certainly going to result in my unfortunate demise. The Ultimate Edition of Forza Motorsport 6 is now live for those that have indulged a little, and as you may have already seen in GTPlanet’s own review of the game, Forza Motorsport 6 is perhaps the best installment yet and the series can only improve from here as a result.

In what has already proven itself to be one of the most active years yet for sim racers, the commotion continues with Fanatec’s recent announcement of their newest product made in cooperation with Turn 10 Studios and tailor-made for Forza Motorsport 6, an official Forza Motorsport-branded ClubSport Wheel Rim GT.

Slightly Mad Studios have begun teasing this month’s upcoming DLC for Project CARS. This news comes just two weeks after the recently released Old vs. New Car Pack that introduced iconic classic cars and their modern day counterparts.
