Anyone with 3 screens having troubles getting their peripherals to work on eifel? Mine refuse to load for some reason.. Working fine as always with everything else

  2. aRicedUpHonda

The Eiffel track is frustrating at first if you use the same cars AI uses, but you wanna beat the track then use the LM55 Mazda Vision car. Just needs downtuning and some ballast adjustment and you can easily get 1 minute ahead of 2nd by the time you finish 10th lap. IM tires and pit lap 5 and its done as done.

  3. SirBerra

Mission accomplished. Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth, about 85% worth of downforce front and rear, IM tires, one pit stop at the end of lap 4. Won by 26 seconds. No serious problems with tire wear or fuel. I didn’t even add extra fuel at the stop and finished with a couple of drops left. Just a couple of liters extra would have been wiser but I wanted to see if it would work without the extra fuel. I checked the lap times of some of the AI cars and I saw a 2:24 as the best lap on RS tires. The GT-R turned 2:24 with IMs and they worked great in the rain. AI cars with RS tires came to a crawl in the rain. Cars with IM tires weren’t much better in the rain. I flew by them. They’re very deliberate and I had no need to be. There was only a few minutes in heavy rain when I had to really slow down to keep the car from skidding. I simply coasted on the flats and still didn’t lose much time because the AI cars also seem to slow down. Maybe the rain is over the entire course, but I’m not sure about that. I really don’t have a clue about how the rain works.

I think the people who made this challenge were being very fair if they allow you to make only one stop with your GT500 car and all the AI cars have to make two stops. The AI cars that switch from RS to IM tires too late are simply dead in the water. I lapped a couple of AI cars at the end. As far as I’m concerned IM tires for the entire race is the way to go. There’s only a downside for a couple of minutes where heavy rain occurs and that’s no loss as long as you don’t go spinning into a barrier. IMHO, HW tires aren’t needed long enough and I think the extra pit stop offsets the extra speed. Just slow down. I never saw an AI car that had HW tires but I didn’t check every car at every lap.

This race is easily winnable with determined practice and if you only take one stop by using IM tires the whole race you have a huge advantage. Forget about using RS tires because they’re a waste of time. The challenge tries to force RS tires on you to put you at a disadvantage. They are a waste of time. With IM tires 80% of your lap times are better than the fastest AI cars.

Don’t give up on winning this seasonal. The AI cars have plenty of weaknesses you can see if you ride in them. They’re steady but somewhat conservative and they do make mistakes. Don’t fight with them because they’ll either knock you aside or give you a penalty or both. Try to drive around them when you can. You do need to pass them if you want to make time. I like to overtake AI cars right in turns on the inside when it’s raining. Watch out for cars shooting out of the pits. They’re unpredictable because they shoot to the opposite side of the track for reasons I can’t determine. Well that’s my story. I learned the entire track after about 15 full races and it’s not that difficult. Hey, it’s not the Circuito de la Sierra or Nurburgring, not even close. I use a six-axis controller and my thumb dexterity isn’t all that good. If I can do it anyone can. I’d sure like to hear some of other people’s stories on Eifel.

  4. SirBerra

I used the 2J again on IM tires after I changed some settings and I was able to finish the race in a time of 24:59.xx which was well over a minute ahead of the 2nd place car. I saw a couple of laps in the 2:18, 2:19 range. I was in first place by the end of the third lap. The Chappie is simply awesome in the rain with those fans creating downforce. This is just a play-car and fun to use. It just blows by those GT500 AI cars. The 2J is definitely a car to use to win the race if you badly want to get the gold and the colors.

I finally won with the Alpine Vision GT Race Car by a scant 00.00.160. I nearly got overtaken at the finish line. That damn Alpine has such a weak top speed. I had a six second lead on the last lap and stupidly spun out with a minute to spare after the hairpin/hill. Whew! That was close. That’s it for now.

  5. SirBerra

I used a couple of other cars to win the Eifel race handily using only IM tires and one stop. The Mazda 787B won by 26 seconds and the Toyota Minolta won by 6 seconds. They both are fast but for me the Mazda 787B was a bit more controllable in the wet. There are times when the rain reaches 78% to 86% and I can’t get any traction using the controller accelerator button. It seems like it’s an on/off switch and the tires spin so easily at that point. That hard rain only lasts a few minutes but it seem like an eternity. I know even the AI cars are seriously struggling for traction on IM tires as I rode in them to check.

At least I’m getting really smooth on the track as I’ve almost got it down to 90% with brake points and cornering speeds. I finally got that turn/hill down pat. I mostly know all the turns in advance now even if I can’t see them clearly when following cars in the rain. I’ve been running the race about four times a day testing various cars and it’s definitely getting easier. I’ll soon be ready to go with a GT500 car. I’ll give @MannYhAvitZ method a try but he may be a much better driver than me to make all those stops and still win. I’ll see. I haven’t tried HW tires yet on this race. Although I used them constantly at the RainMeisters seasonal last month. Give me a few more days of practice and I’m going to try to win fairly. I think this race is a nice challenge.

One thing I definitely don’t like is some of those AI cars can go into turns too fast and whack me from behind and I get penalized 5 seconds. C’mon, that’s not right. If I run into them, fine but not if they run into me. I’ve seen them sitting in the middle of the road spun out and I don’t know what they’re going to do as I pass them and they run into me and I’m penalized while they just motor away. It’s not a big deal but I’m just saying.

  6. SirBerra

Oh, well. Using the Mazda LM55 Vision GT car is the go-to vehicle if you want to win that race. Full downforce, only intermediate tires and only one pit stop doesn’t give the AI cars any chance of winning. I won by about 30 seconds and I was taking my time. The Mazda LM55 grips like crazy in wet or dry, and is easy on tires and gas. So, if anyone is desperate to win, that’s the way to go. Hey, they let you use it, so give it a try. I really was able to learn the course really well using it because it was so easy to use I was able to concentrate fully on the track itself. It’s going to help me a lot to use the proper GT500 cars. All I wanted was a chance to learn the track outside of the race. That seems only fair since that’s how it is in real life. Who the heck has to learn a track while in the race? Even the best drivers don’t do that. They should let us download the track for practice or allow a practice mode.

Anyway, what’s done is done and I got what I needed. The other seasonals were quite simple and Eifel presented a challenge. It all balances out.

The car I was thinking about wasn’t the Honda NSX GT500 Stealth, It was the Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth with the 50/50 weight distribution. That’s the one I’m going to use to try to fairly win the race. I’m still going to test a lot of other cars just for the fun of it. I’m curious if the Rocket can do it without stopping. I don’t think it has enough top speed, though. I’m gonna just have some fun.

  7. Aussie_HSV

On this site, PD get hammered for an ‘apparent lack of effort’ regarding Seasonals.

PD create a whole new track using the TPE for a Seasonal.

On this site, PD still get criticised that the track isn’t good enough.

    Go figure.

    1. MannYhAvitZ

Yup!! GT players are the most ungrateful community I have witness…
      VGT = No good
      Track editor = No good
New seasonal events = No good

Complaining all the time… Priceless -_-

    2. Aussie_HSV

I’m not all that phased with peoples opinions.
Each to their own, and call it how you see it.

What does grind me is illogical or irrational posts.

For me it’s ‘make a decison’.
Sure, complain, if you feel, that PD are lazy with their Seasonal events.
Not that anyone has any idea what is behind these decisions.
But if people feel it’s ‘lazy’, then so be it.

But if PD are willing to create a whole new track, the calls of ‘lazy’ are gone.
Not that those who call PD ‘lazy’ will poke their heads up now.
      Complete silence.

      And that’s my issue.

Make the call if you wish.
But at least have the balls to stand up and call it as it is now.

Sure, whinge about the track, even though you’ve hardly driven it, and many would call for other original tracks to be brought back into GT.
And sure, there’s no reason why this track is up to the standard of recognised PD original tracks.

But at least have the decency to recognise effort, and admit that fact, when it’s obvious.

    3. Johnnypenso

So you want to give them some massive amount of credit for making a “whole new track”, that any player could have made in an hour or less? Sounds like a massive effort on their part, let’s roll out the red carpet…lol.

    1. MannYhAvitZ

Don’t give up mate! Imagine If actual Race car Drivers did that? “Skipping this Race cause Is not Fun at All, So why bother doing It?” Either you accept the challenge Or accept defeat….

    2. Obelisk

Johnny, lay off. I gave up too, but then I tried later and got it.

SVP knows his limits and what he can tolerate, so he made a rational decision and went through with it.

You, on the other hand, run your mouth without thinking. If it isn’t GT bashing, you’re bullying the other users.

      Seriously…

    3. MannYhAvitZ

Hey SVP… Sorry if I did you wrong… And hey OB!! I’m glad you have mature a lot!

OB knows me, I love challenges!! But I just don’t like when people give up!!!…. Just try, just try

    4. MannYhAvitZ

      Hope you get the win!
      I started with RS
Lap 2 I switched to HW
Lap 4 got a fresh set of HW
Lap 7 I switched to RM

And that’s how I maneged to get gold

    1. another_jakhole

Damn, that’s interesting. You can’t switch tracks in a lobby with a CM track, so there’s the correlation and logic. Not a big problem, but it it’s an issue

  8. Rafael F

They should stop with this idea of “always finish first!” Racing is not all about winning every time. They should make races with certain cars and certain objectives, like Finish at least in 8th place or something like that. This idea of “get the best car possible and win for the prize” is childish.

    1. Rubencho

“but it’s a racing game and you have to finish first and bla bla bla”
You have a good point, I’d enjoy to do something similar. The gas challenges for the licenses were fun (at least for me) and did bring a fresh air to all the other challenges

    2. Jamaicangmah

Wait but doing a championship you don’t have to finish first, they are points based. If you are asking for more of them then i completely understand but i’ve planned out winning strategies in championships all the time because i don’t have the fastest car. Great fun too.

    3. MannYhAvitZ

But If we don’t finish 1st… We don’t get the Gold trophy, Car, Credits and Chip paint!!
Now If it Is point based then Is a whole different story…

  9. Oyashiro-sama

I actually loved that track! It feels great for gt500 cars. Is there a way to download it? Please!!!

Also, it was an easy win. After you learn the track, it’s much easier than the previous 700pp events (those where hell).

SPOILER: Just use a tuned weider HSV to max PP (stage-3 engine), max down-force, shorter-gearbox. Start with slicks and do two laps. Pit to completely refuel and change to intermeds. Use them until lap 7 or 8 (after when the track dries, you’ll have almost empty tank anyway) and then pit again to change back to slicks and refuel what’s necessary.

    1. SirBerra

I finally won after I learned the track a bit. I was going way too fast at first and spent more time spinning out than racing. I guess you could say I cheated because I used the Chaparral 2J and that thing can really slog in the wet. I went with intermediates all the way and made one stop at end of lap 4 to get new tires and gas (a fill-up so I wouldn’t run short). I went slow and steady with no spin-outs or barrier kissing. I did have a problem getting around some of those AI cars. If they touched me from the side or behind I’d get a freaking time penalty. I probably got around 4 or 5 time penalties on the race I won but I easily beat the second place car by 12 seconds as I was pulling away the last couple of laps. I’m going to try to use a GT500 car eventually when I get the track down pat. Someone had mentioned the 2J along with that Vision GT Mazda. I’ll try that next. The 2J is fast enough and has fine traction all around. I didn’t use any turbo because it wasn’t necessary. I wasn’t going to add weight to use low-boost turbo just to spin the tires easier or get more speed to fly off the track faster.

Since my old eyes aren’t very good, all that glare near the end makes me lose focus. I wasn’t familiar with the track and I’d run off. I knew I could win because even screwing up badly I had come in 5th place. I normally like to practice on any track with a slower car to get familiar with the track. I never practiced in the rain. I had to get my butt kicked and bear with it. I placed second earlier in the day because I screwed up going too fast on that stupid sharp turn into a hill. That’s some weird corner. I lost by three lousy seconds. I knew I could easily take the race the next time around and did. I’m not bragging but just happy I won after about ten full races with various cars. Forget the races I gave up on being left way behind after getting totally frustrated. The race is basically a “be careful and don’t screw up” type of race. Go smooth and steady and win. I was turning laps as fast as the lead cars but I only needed one stop and I think they took at least two stops. The heavy rain slows those AI suckers down to a crawl and that’s when you can you can close up on the leaders.

I’ve already had the AMG Mercedes that’s the prize and I don’t need any more cars or cash. I’m definitely going to try to use different LMP and GT3 cars but when I get enough practice I’m going to use my favorite Honda NSX GT500 Stealth to win because that’s a bad-ass looking car. However, I own about a dozen GT500 cars to test out. I tried the race with the Vision GT Alpine Race but it sucked for me. I thought it would be good but I had no success with it at all. Anyway, that’s my story. Let me know if there are any other “cheater” cars I can try out. I’m sure I can win with a GT500 once I learn the track well enough. I’m going to look at some replays through the various AI cars and see exactly what they’re doing and various speeds through long sweepers. In the beginning I went off the track a bunch of times going too fast down that long hill to the pits. I didn’t think I was going fast and the next thing I knew my car was slipping off to the outside grass. Grrrrr. No more. Take it easy, peasy and win. I think it’s a very fair race although the conditions aren’t great. If I can win, it has to be considered reasonably doable.

  10. Daduce1947

I liked the track – ALOT! We just have to invest some seat time, some laps to learn it just as we’ve done with all the other tracks. Used the Toyota TSO30 for a relatively EZ win,, now just because I want to see what I can do with the GT500’s will try a number of them,, to make myself feel better if I get the win and to better learn the quirks of this super cool track.
My first attempt was to use my “go to” car, the GTR 500 base model,, finished `15th.. Back to the list,,,

  11. Manasseh257NSX

What I wanna know is why don’t our CM tracks look like PD’s CM track at 8:00 A.M? It looks like day break with our 8:00 A.M. but their 8:00 A.M. lighting setup looks magnificent! PD stop hogging all the good stuff for yourselves! I want my tracks to look like that too at 8:00 A.M.!

    1. GTracer125

What I want to know is that why is Eifel and Eifel F are the only ones with good weather effects besides the Nurburgring, it makes no sense…

    2. Manasseh257NSX

It really doesn’t. I wish more of the tracks had actual rain reflecting off of the road surface. You know, to give a driver the actual impression that they’re racing in the rain.

  12. GTracer125

The Eifel Track… I have no idea what car to use, I decided to use the Honda HSV as a first try on it, bad decision as it is too “drifty” on the track tight corners and when it started to rain well… things go downhill really quick, Of all the track designs they could have made with their own track editor, they make a really annoying one… I hope next time they actually make a really track instead of a mess of hill corners and straights..

  13. MannYhAvitZ

Took me 3hrs to get GOLD… Since the opponents were Super GT’s I decided to use the TAKATA DOME NSX.

    -Track: Difficult
    -Conditions: Terrible
    -AI: Unpredictable
    -Racing Experience: PRICELESS!!

I have to admit I had FUN! It’s been a while since I have a good challenge so Good job PD, Good job :3

  14. Frenzyhero

The track is terrible, and the AI are are a bit too strong in this place’s rain. Better use 4wd car. I managed to do it with the calsonic r32. It’s bull that AI gets so much traction in the wet.

Pretty pathetic that was the best track they could make.

  15. karelpipa

I would expect the would choose some track from GTP’s forum, but no, they decided not to please their customers with involvementing their own custom tracks for ”official” part of Gran Turismo game.
    Its PD.

    1. Frenzyhero

I’ve seen enough of the average person’s tracks to know they’re almost always completely undriveable messes. The average GT custom track is all blind, all jumps, and as narrow as possible.

Heck I was in Eifel Flat this morning and there was a blind jump that would toss the car into the wall. Eifel FLAT. I was slightly impressed that they managed to mess up their track that much.

    2. karelpipa

Mine tracks arent :-P, i create solely tracks without jumps like the ones we could see in GT5 CM :) I try to manage the tracks to have a flow,

    3. Johnnypenso

That’s why they’d have to put a minimal effort in to find a suitable track. Or, I don’t know, consult with their #1 fansite in the entire world who would be more than happy to do the legwork and submit a few candidates? Maybe?

    4. Hastatus

This event may have been created and set up by PD well before any players even had access to the course-maker.

  16. DesertPenguin09

I just checked it out real quick. It’s an okay track but has a hairpin going up a hill constantly understeering the car. The AI goes off in some places. It’s really not worth it. I think they just made a random track.
