FM6: Ferrari 641 Screams Around Spa

After Senna’s all-conquering MP4/4 arrived in Forza last year, players were all too excited to find out which, if any, other F1 cars might make the jump to the title. It was a long wait, but it was worth it, as the Ferrari 641 showed up earlier this month as part of the Hot Wheels Car Pack. Driven by Alain Prost, Senna’s long-time rival, it was a force to be reckoned with during the 1990 season, only succumbing to the Brazilian and his McLaren by 11 points thanks to a controversial crash at the Japanese Grand Prix.

But that won’t be a problem here! We’ve taken the old Scuderia machine around historic Spa, since it just didn’t seem right visiting some of the modern F1 tracks in the game. With most of the HUD off, you’re free to enjoy the view as the car flies down the straights, or strains the harnesses as it piles into short braking zones. It’s an easier car to drive than the knife-edge modern Lotus F1 in the game, likely due to the relative lack of torque. Look at how refreshingly uncomplicated that wheel is, too.

Impressively, most of the car’s bodywork can be removed in Forzavista. We’ve included a small gallery to let you soak up the details. As games get ever more realistic, these sorts of features become increasingly interesting, as not many of us will get to see such a beast up close out there in the real world.

Every time I read “Scream” in regards to a car, I think:

    “WAAAAAAAAUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH!”

Forzavista is very interesting indeed, I hope in the future they’ll add support for Oculus Rift on the PC version. Checking out every detail of the car, getting inside the cockpit, admiring every inch of the engine would be a blast with VR.

“only succumbing to the Italian and his McLaren by 11 points thanks to a controversial crash at the Japanese Grand Prix.”

Who is the “Italian” you mention? The Brazilian Ayrton Senna?

Was just about to say that, I had to read it twice and yep it says Italian. Oh well anyone can make a mistake, no biggie.

Whoops! During editing that sentence read far differently, and I somehow kept the car’s lineage in place of Senna’s!

All fixed, thanks for the quick catch guys!
