Considering the AX 5 car got a drive through for a "illegal driver list" or something like that, I'm really not surprised at all
Its the soup nazi, NO SOUP FOR YOU!!

About the car sounds, I have always wondered What the sound levels are in Real life. In videos etc. The Corvettes (DP and GTLM) as well as Z4s, 911 GT Americas and 458GTE sounds the loudest cars. And on the other hand V6 powered machines sound relatively quiet and surprisingly R8LMS sounds very quiet compared to other cars. But is This the case in Real life?

BTW those Vipers indeed looks awesome in that livery. So glad that they are keeping that for now on 👍

From being at the track, the Corvette DP, Porsche GT America, GTLM Ferrari, and GTLM Viper are the loudest in that order at least from my ears

The penalty on the #4 Vette is still under review. I just saw the replay. All bias aside That wasn't the Vettes fault there was plenty of track left for the Flying Lizard.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure that vette would've made the turn had the Audi not been there. Plenty of room for both cars, and it looked like the 4 locked up the brakes

From my experience at the track in GT the C7.R is the loudest. The Viper is pretty loud too but doesnt quite match the Vette. The Ferrari 458 and Porsche both have high pitched ear piercing whine. Overall I think the Vette's raw thunderous roar takes the cake.

#4 got a stop and go, just served it. I think you're right he was coming in hot. Could go either way to me.

Thanks. I want so much to see those cars in action, especially Corvettes and their thundering crossplane V8's. But not happening soon... And great move by Yacaman! Would be great to have Another winner in This season.

Wow. Second time someone drove straight into another car like he wasn't even there in that exact same spot.

Edit, Bonehead move on the PC car on Pruett
What a battle with Westy and Brundle before that caution. The DP just has too much speed for the restarts and the LMP2's strength isn't until around the first few corners.

Sure, just put the 42 in the grass like he's not there.

OOOO big one in the boot. Ganassi taken out again it seems. I'm not the biggest Ganassi fan, but Van Der Zande for Starworks just dumped him. Heck of a race up front though.

What a move by Westy!

3 in a row for the #3 Vette :D:cheers:
Pretty gutted Vette didnt finish 1 and 2 due to the late stop and go penalty on the #4. But glad to see Viper on the podium. Nice battle towards the end in Prototype. Westy pulled some nice moves.

Alex Brundle is pissed off that he can drive so well and lose the race by being left for dead on the straights.

Can't say I blame him...

Move of the race LOL-NASCAR engine Vtech YO! Lapped cars forcing the leader off the track on the restart, blocking, and cars 11 laps down holding up the 4th place in class PC-just stupid.

Not sure why anyone would complain, just like Daytona this was always a track where the DPs would be faster. Still, I was very impressed how good the BOP was. Driving standards still leave much to be desired, but axing the PC class would help that a lot. Only got to watch the last 45mins via Viper onboard, that pass on the #4 for 3rd was great.

The 01 got punted, really.

My only complaint wasn't that Westy got by, it was the forcing Brundle in the grass out of the carousel.

It's totally the Prototype BoP's fault that a PC and GTD crash caused a 10 minute shootout and that there was another crash on the restart all but ending the race

As to the restart, if IMSA had Grand-am's system of restarts, the 9 wouldn't have been in the position to possibly change the outcome, but we don't want to be like NASCAR...

@Müle goooooooooood one. Alex didn't have position and Westy was coming off the corner

I thought the Vettes were running 1 and 2 up until the #4 had a stop and go penalty resulting it coming back out behind the 2 Vipers?

It came out ahead of the #93, they went side by side through the final 2 turns, with the Viper finally getting ahead at the bus stop.

Oh damn missed that, thanks.

Westy didn't force Alex onto the grass, that was all him. He needed to make the outside work to have the inside+late on the brakes into the next turn.

Oak Racing got robbed. They had the time in hand to make the splash for fuel, and got eaten alive by yellows. Brundle could've blocked on the first restart but didn't. He also had 30+ seconds in hand to take his splash for fuel. The fact is, either Westy went slow to insure they had enough to finish, or he would've burned it up to get Oak while they pitted, which may have caused SoD to need a splash, handing the win to Oak easily.

Gustavo Yacaman and Alex Brundle drove their asses off to keep with the Action Express and Spirit of Daytona entries, while Ho-Pin Tung did his thing and got the car around safely when he needed to.

Alex Brundle consistently lapped quicker than Yacaman, who you @cnd01 have lorded as one of the fastest drivers. The man has speed. You fail to see that because he doesn't drive a DP car and isn't an American.

That said, Spirit of Daytona ran a flawless race, and really were the class of the field. Action Express made too many errors, and the Ecoboost engine still isn't getting it for the Riley cars. Props to both the guys running that car.

As you're saying, Oak did deserve to win, but it's not the BoP's fault. They had the best car. Yacaman had an excellent stint taking the lead. The gap was right there with SoD on needing fuel and coming out in front. They simply got robbed because of poor driving by the guys in the field. Had there not been the 2 big wrecks or even just that last one between Rojas and Van Der Zande, we would've seen just what the kid had. I'm sure they're gutted, but no amount of Prototype BoP short of buying all the DP teams LMP2 chassis or all the LMP2 teams DP chassis can prevent what happened. No amount of Prototype BoP can prevent guys in GT cars cutting down on guys on their inside in the last turn. That's a product of Pro-am classes that's gonna happen whether they're in spec Miatas or fighter jets. AX screwed the pooch when they got off sequence trying to win the Patron-NAEC cup at the halfway point. Really the 9 car is why SoD won. He had the run on the restart and hurt the momentum of Oak. That's why Westy had his run. The only way to keep that from happening was move the lappers out of way because I can't blame a guy 1 lap down for trying to get back on the lead lap. Grand am did that, but IMSA isn't smart enough to see that lappers are potentially changing the outcome so they leave guys in the way of the race. At least it's not NASCAR...

Don't worry, Oak will get a sure podium assuming they don't break at CTMP/Mosport

had to settle for second, largely due to the power deficit in P2-based cars.
Dagys needs to keep his head out of his rump himself

Personally, I laugh whenever someone says "LET THE PEETWOS HAVE MICHILANS!!!!!1!1!!!1!111!!!" as if the DP's wouldn't also be allowed to have them.

We won't hear a peep out of those people when Oak and ESM drive circles around the field at CTMP

The BOP was more even than it's been all season, but the DP's have a huge advantage on restarts. Surely you won't deny that? A late race restart will always favour a DP over a P2.

Only ways to fix that would be to allow P2s to use the Michelins, (which would never happen because of Conti $$$$$$$) or allow no car work while refuelling, allowing the P2s to take advantage of their lighter tire use. Also, it will bring in an extra strategy element and allow teams to try something different to stay/get ahead.

Edit: @Müle How dare the P2s use tires that are designed for them, that would make no sense at all.

Everyone stop complaining, it was an actually great race! 👍 Some of the LMPC drivers though need to relearn how to...drive. :scared:

While on this P class thing though, I still think that the spec tire is ridiculous in a top tier class of a championship like this. P, and GTLM should be open, while PC and GTD use the spec Conti's. Wouldn't that make more sense? But anyway, like :@:aarror said, any sane individual could see the jump the DP's had over the LMP2's on the restarts. If that would be fixed, bingo.

:banghead:*I will say though...I'm tired of these DP's winning...especially the bloody Corvette DP's...a little chassis parity would be nice. Yes they're both fast...but at the end of the day....who's in the winner's circle?*
