Assetto Corsa PC Mods General DiscussionPC

[El Locho]

As per the description, they're based on Legion's mod so the origin is IIRC likely to be Kunos' own Lotus 49. Am amazed that folk upload things like that to RD without either a) being aware of RD rules or b) being aware of the source of the thing they're uploading

Thanks for the clarification, that makes sense. I actually never questioned the origin of Legion's version and "based on Legion's work" is also quite fuzzy, especially since the meshes have all been renamed and retextured compared to Legion's version. I still appreciate the work done, just RD probably wasn't the right platform to distribute it.

It's meant to have csp physics enhancement so no, must be lack of skill or lack of knowledge on how to create a good setup.
Me to as other states I find myself pretty comfortable in it and I don't notice that it spins that much, on mid corners I put full throttle before half corner without even unsettle the car.

I mean I have the experimental csp extended physics activated. Anyway might that be Barcelona track? That track is kind of weird, you get pushed away in the corners. For me anyway it spins too much, with the other 2022 mods is not this difficult

If you mean simdream or acfl 2022 mods I don't have nothing else to say considering that everyone here knows they're scammers and incapable modders.

Does anyone know what happened to the Lotus 49B mods posted on Racedepartment by AuthorCRLHistoricsModding a few days ago? I still have the files on my disk, seems like an increasingly good idea to keep RD downloads in the archive.

Based on the work of Legion converting the Lotus 49B Hi Wings and Lotus 49C from the 1969 season, we have constructed the 1968 Lotus Type 49B. Driven by Graham Hill to the 1968 World Championship. We have included cars for: Graham Hill Jackie...

I didn't tested nor bought but from some videos I watched it seems to have a good physics base as other MSF mods have plus it has been tested by a real osella driver that helped in the physics creation.
Btw I never put attention to the fact that a mod can be converted to some other games but the quality of the overall physics that can be a reason for my will to pay for a converted mod.

To anyone interested, I’ve just find out that @Pyyer monaco extension works perfectly also with monaco_2020 track by @Ofitus21 (the one with swimming pool section updated) that you can find here:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/jvfiddiwti6n1oy/monaco_2020.7z/file

Just modify the .ini with the correct kn5 name

probably the best combo for monaco ATM

Does anybody know the differences between this Monaco_2020 version and the Monaco_2019 track (also with updated swimming pool section)? because apart from the extension file still showing various '_2019' files instead of the required '_2020' ones I do not see any difference from the 2019 version, neither file-wise nor visually...

[Berganzio]

As I mentioned before again it's because vrc putted effort on physics trying to get as close to real as possible instead of others like simdream which just copy paste from some crappy model through the internet with very few tweaks.
Try the formula NA2021 from VRC. It spins as it should but is catchable as it should too.
It's all a question of physics and ability in driving/setup

[HuibVDN]

Hi guys!

I've been working on this FunCup mod for a while now, and we're looking to do a (official) release in the near future. Most of the mod is done. I've worked on the model, skins and stuff like that myself. However we're having quite a few issues in the physics-department. I myself am no specialist when it comes to physics, so;

Is there anyone here with a certain physics-expertise who would like to look at these issues with me? My PM's are open, I can give more details in there

Thanks a lot in advance!

After seeing the teaser of few specs for RSS FH22 in the RSS discord -which I'm not sure if they will end in the car-, I feel like RSS did the job for me for this year about RSS FH add-ons 😂😂 Same for VRC. I think my add-ons made a trend which both modding studios are doing alternative specs based on real cars. However I worry for RSS about the steering wheel changes. Not even 2 days since VRC FA22 released and there is already a RB steering wheel for it made by me, but the worse is I'm also seeing people changing it for his own. Let's see what RSS will do to avoid it 😂

After everyone is asking about the RB18 wheel for VRC FA 2022, this is the RB18 steering wheel add-on I've set. You guys can try it with other steering wheels by changing the offset value (Try and fail in-game). It might not work with every steering wheel because the LCD and LEDS position. Paste in the skin folder.

Anyway, I'm off now in modding, but when I'm back I might try to do add-ons for the VRC car and who knows, RSS car, despite both cars are encrypted. I'm always hearing suggestions so let me know if you have one

Hi Paulo. After a long time I was finally able to make an AI-solution for Lago d'Endine. You now can race against the AI around the lake (15.4 km per lap). So far it worked for every car I tested.

The only thing that didnt work is a pitlane. I also made an ext_config.ini with GrassFX, RainFX and animated water for the Lake. If you dont like one of them, just delete the lines from the file.

I updated the UI, so this file will be replaced. Please enjoy some offline-racing.

Here is the track:

Freeroam map in alpha state. Please be aware of the many holes you can find close to the track sending you to the oblivion or some misplaced objects you can find around the map. Collisions are off for these early releases. Enjoy! > If you wish...

Did you try using their baseline setups for different tracks? I know I did find their setup a tad loose to start and I typically play with the diff and rear anti-roll bar setting to make it a bit less twitchy for me on power.
At the end of the day the tire needs to be up to temp and also its still a near 1000 horsepower car with no TC...but I don't find the car to be undriveable with no assist.

with traction control situation improved a bit, at Imola without TC I managed to do 1.20.1xx in Bacelona with traction control 1.22.3xx, but I would like to get closer to real life pole lap times and it is very hard, with acfl my best at Imola is 1.17.5xx impossible to get

[RacingManiac]

I got down to 1:18.9 yesterday first time getting a bit more seat time in the VRC cars at Imola, no TC, tire warmer on and using their new "Spec C" Aero setup from VRC. I softened the rear bar and rear corner dampers and made the diff a bit less aggressive. It wasn't particularly hard to do it with the car compare to the old RSS FH cars neither. Tricky spot is only exit of aqua minerali and both chicane exit to mind the throttle application a bit.

I played a bit with the gear differential and managed to di 1.19.6xx, I am still learning a lot of things actually, how to drive the car itself but also how to use left and right foot for breaking/throttling (before I was driving only with my right foot like I do with road cars), and learning the manual shifting (before I was using automatic gearbox), I believe it is a lot of learning curve and this is driving me mad a bit. Probably I am a bit too soft in shifting gears up while I should be a bit more confident and shift faster while throttling. I am a beginner though, so expecting to be fast like real drivers is a bit too high of an expectation, I would consider myself happy if I could get within 1/2 seconds behind real pole lap time depending on the track

I've been in the same situation (and still am, really), and my advice is that if things get too hairy or frustrating I recommend hopping in the Kunos-made Lotus 3-Eleven and doing a few laps around Mugello or Silverstone '67 to get your bearings back because that is the most fun learning experience I've had so far in years of trying to get into this game. The courses are memorable yet simple enough to get the hang of the basics, and the 3-Eleven is so forgiving I'm surprised it hasn't been canonized into sainthood. Also I get the suspicion (which I'm sure others here will back up) that the more you get used to the default Kunos cars, the easier it'll be to suss out when something is legitimately broken or dumbed-down in a mod, or whether a mod really is that good (like the VRC ones are known to be).

I have added the extension to the 2019 track and it won’t start the race. It just goes wild so have to come out.

Must probably be my steering wheel pedals settings? I have a G923

Surely a low FFB, round wheel won't help as those cars are meant to be driven with a very low angle.
I had a g29 but honestly don't remember the settings at all but surely yes that's a big NO for a formula car

[Berganzio]

Because with a simplified physics you're obviously faster

I got down to 1:18.9 yesterday first time getting a bit more seat time in the VRC cars at Imola, no TC, tire warmer on and using their new "Spec C" Aero setup from VRC. Try go get higher rear height and one point more to wing angle

The real lap times are very hard to get because the last 2 seconds are insanely demanding but at first when you said you use only the right foot and automatic gearbox I understood that the conversation could be way shorter if you say that at the beginning.

Is there anyway to enable full DRS usage(detection and activation) on DRS-enabled tracks? It's DRS for everyone, in the zone, during a race by default.
