Just spent about an hour and a half, troubleshooting a over-loud road car, which wouldn't respond to [AUDIO_VOLUME] changes in ext_config.ini

Finally the lights came on. It's a roadster, so modder-man made the sound that the driver hears, ENGINE_EXT, instead of what I was adjusting, namely, ENGINE_INT.

How's your day going?

I fixed the digital instruments in the mean time , but there is still quite some issues , main one sticking out for me is the right side window that is too "milky" ...

Only diff I see between right and left window is this triangle count

IF someone could do a workaround for that window , it would be much more enjoyable...

strange, i downloaded this car and i dont have a milky window like you. the drivers window does appear to have a bit of a tint but its not milky

the inside of the side windows do not seem to be mapped either. This is what i have, bad pic but you get the idea you can see the tint that i am talking about. Also i noticed in CM showroom the passenger window is just clear looking but on the other side it has a weird glass texture to it on the outside

For clarity, I don't want to offend him. I think I was clear when I said that just write to me for any changes etc. The mod is free, he put it on his site and amen. But it would be advisable not to write things in the changelog that are not true or that he didn't do.

But we have your great mods with individual shapes and physics and not kill-my-pc levels of details that I can't run a full field with.

well yeah but in the end they are just mods out of a hobby by an amateur, a true F10 made by a professional studio i don't see myself driving my 2010 cars anymore

EASY!!!!!!!!!!!! if you read this apply the bloody fix for the windows man, the car looks ***** without it. I have to say for a change apart from not applying my fix he has improved it..........he has managed to get the AO onto the car without the nasty bits coming through around the badges on the AO i couldn't do that plus you can see the windows now in CM showroom and removed the fog lights in CM showroom. As it is on his website this is what you get............

its just four lil files EASY..............just a quick drag and drop i no you can do it

I really think it would have been enough to ask and talk about it. Also because if one has a possible fix I don't see why anyone shouldn't want to evaluate the thing. 😪

The thing I don't understand is that the car has LODs and the data.acd was missing which I promptly updated the link with the correct version... He says "Added AO Skins" but they are the same as mine.

i agree it does kind of annoy me i can just see countless people downloading that Escort taking 1 look at the windows and then putting it in the recylce bin when in reality its a great little car to have fun with. I dont like to see people miss out when its easily avoidable. Surely he checked this thing on track...............

It is true. In my case I admit that my mod is not exactly the best in optimization, but changing a lod_d with only 2 objects with a heavier one is something I don't understand. Then, as you said, maybe they throw it away for this reason. Unfortunately I make the lods by hand and they are not perfect, but at least there is a reason why certain things are made in a specific way.

Anyway, I am sure that if he asked he would get a yes answer in 85% of cases.

yep, exactly my point!!! This Escort is not even made by me and it bothers me. Your Tvr was created by you over i do not know how many hours..........100's? 1000's?.............all for EASY to come along and make it worse.

i like the fact that it gets onto a website and gets exposure thats great. Poor/bad fixes are not

Oh, I know that feel... I'm 100% agree to put my P70 on his website, through a link which pays him for it a bit, no problem. it's part of the "sharing" concept. But saying "Add lods" when they were there already, handcrafted for hours... Man, you really want everyone to hates you, that's the only explanation possible.

In theory his idea is really great but he uses it in the wrong way. Creating an encyclopedia of mods, an orderly and precise reference point, would be a great thing. I've been working on the TVR for a long time, about a year. I always wanted it to be free and unencrypted because I believe in cooperation. But I don't want to continue if someone gets involved, gets it worse and starts his own business (modsfire is like sharemods, am I wrong?).

It's Easy, even writing a single word will be wasted time unfortunately.

for the WTCC 1987 BMW M3 E30 , skin 9 is missing rims when I make new previews for it :

I had solved it before by removing the extension part that replaces the rims , but guess a more permanent and better solution would be the author including the rim file in the distributed archive...

not sure what a variable mirror is , I guess you mean virtual mirror ?
try turning off "Render only visible mirrors" in Settings - CSP - Smart Mirror - Real Mirrors section ...

to find workaround play with the settings there , to narrow it down a bit (is it only w virtual mirrors , or also w real).
Here my settings and no issues w dissapearing mirror on the WSC60 Ferrari 330 P4 Spyder (also not when I turn on Monitor instead of real mirror)

No no with variable was meant "random" dissapearing. No virtual mirror. Sorry my fault (english not good enough)
I use real mirrors.

It's not specific to the WSC one, it's the Kunos P4 spyder having some weird interaction with the weather effects and real mirrors. Add a 'single seater' tag to it in CM or add single_seater=1 (or open_wheel = 1, I forget which) to the ext_config and see if that helps. Sorry, not at home ATM so can't tell you the setting for sure.

Or try with CSP 1.8p1 and newer Pure

Frankly, I don't know and maybe I don't want to know. After all the time it took to put this mod together this is seriously the last straw. I didn't encrypt it as the creator, he encrypted it after he stole it. Seems legit.

i'm just sat here thinking (i no, i no its dangerous) and he must be doing this so he can strip away anything to do with your name on it, then put it under encryption so nobody can check............

that's the only explanation i can think of

no worries, so what are you going to do going forward? he has still offered your car on his platform when asked not to...........how do you get around that without encryption???. Even with encryption he can still host that car

Don`t know what all variables are rsponsible for and if the error comes back under other circumstances but for now a quick test with the "SINGLE_SEATER=1" addition helped. THANKS

The car will always remain free and free from any form of encryption. I will always continue to want to host it only from the link I provide here. The only thing I should do is provide the hash of the zip that I will upload at the next update, in order to have an identifying key of the original file. If anyone has a better idea, it's welcome.
