Assetto Corsa PC Mods General DiscussionPC

[Mr_Filipe13]

Hi guys!
Just wondering, has anyone ever bothered to make a pitcrew_Left.kn5 out of the alternative retro pit guy that RSS made for the 1970 f1 car? Its a pretty cool change but it is a bit silly that you can only use him if the pits are on your right side

Hi everyone.

Yesterday I found a mod of the Reynard 92D on this site: https://hillclimbheroes.weebly.com/

The Reynard 92D was an open-wheel car which used to race on F3000 and in my opinion one of the most beautiful feeder-series car. But as I installed the car and after adding some skins form the 1992 Japanese F3000 (from rFactor) I saw the mod is a bit outdated and not finished. Does anyone want to improve or polish this mod?

It needs some improvements on the driver position, it doessn't have tyres FX and maybe needs some work with the shaders and textures

Anyone have a feel for how the new CSP is? I'd prefer to wait a few days to see what new and exciting bugs the build has before paying in/fully rolling over to a clean install. I'm not interested one bit in the snow/ice physics - more about where the general physics are and if major bugs have been cleaned up.

I see the reports about odd behavior at the starts of races, and that's disappointing, of course - but in the patch notes, Ilja seems fairly confident that the "Russian Roulette" of cars not going off the line about 25% of the time is fixed. I guess I'll take that trade if it's indeed the case.

I can't read the comments on the Patreon post either, as those require me being paid in as well - which is a bit silly.

Sort of looking for a general "state of the build" if anyone has been driving a lot today. Cheers.

Community,

Is there an improved grassFX or grass textures for LA Canyons? I loaded the track today and the grass color is almost non-existent. I understand that grassFX uses the color of the base texture/material, and for LA Canyons it is mostly rock and sand, so the grass is that color. Green grass would be nice, but the current version doesn't even look like dried and burnt grass in the California heat.

Hope and prayer for this one.

My prayers might be answered! LA Canyons might be getting grass!

look, can someone maybe fix this aswell?

for f302_mb_clk_dtm_2003
Add this to ext_config.ini.

[NODE_ADJUSTMENT_...]
NODES = Mesh_1063
MOVE_TO = BODY
IS_ACTIVE = 1

I don't know if this is the right solution.

Merry X-mas all ! 👑🐑🫏🎄

how to reduce or remove the reflection from the windscreen of the M530 LMP1 by F302?
(reflecting the dashboard so much it's disturbing - maybe only a VR thing, since w flats you would not notice the reflection moving.)
I've tried all sorts of things but can't seem to pull it off... thanks already for the golden tip.

you mean the road reflection? If yes put this into the ext_config of the car in extension folder

[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
MATERIALS = REPLACE_WITH_THE_MATERIAL_NAME
SHADER = ksWindscreen
IS_TRANSPARENT = 1

I tried that on all different glass materials (inside and outside)... if only it were that easy
and no it's the reflection of the dashboard (not the reflection of the road)

Try this as a temporary fix for that particular car

When is the release for the BMW 320 planned? Or did I miss it already?

[jac0]

For anyone who's thinking of skipping the Lola T298 by childa because of it's huge size
(original 7z installer file - found here - is 905MB and the unpacked car folder 1.7GB ! )
I made a toned down version, reducing the size considerably without too much compromise.
- removed unneeded files , such as PSD files ,
- reduced size of the bodypaint_map file
- smaller dds file for the mirror colors (on some skins)
- compressed DDS files
- reused bodypaint.dds for the inner wing part
(which is a concession, as some things are then in mirror writing , but this will not be very noticeable)

My installer file is only 116MB and the unpacked car folder is 'only" 709MB instead of 1700MB
(and with compactor the car folder only takes 118MB on disk)

It is well worth it (even the 709MB) , it's an amazing mod imho!

anyone else has an issue with the tyres in this new version?
(previously didn't notice , but now the blurred inside walls of the tyres disturb me, so I guess something was changed there... and not for the better )
