I have not raced on the base layout yet. I've only been testing the raceday one. I'll run some races on the base layout tonight and see what happens. I wonder if anyone else has the same problem?

Thanks for the heads up.

@rich64 When i'm done with this project, maybe i'll take a look.
Just tried race day and race day 25 same thing, tested again up to the 100 marker benched seem all grey then up to the marker its almost like a light comes on and the crowd are there. So I stopped and reversed away but got to the bridge before the crowd suddenly just disappeared. I'm sure there's an answer 👍👍

Does anyone know where to find "GioKay", who has ported the Nissan Skyline R30 and Silvia KS110 Super Silhouette? Got ahold of the mods by chance, but cannot find the author anywhere. The cars seem good, except the skins are a bit awkward.

EASY got it wrong yet again, there's no GioKay as these cars were ported by our beloved Brazilian friend First Studio Racing (proof https://www.patreon.com/c/firststudio/posts)

really hope someone can improve the track :)
It really needs some love. I tried then I remember that I ain't worth **** when it comes to mod tracks lmao

Hi racinjoe013

Just came across a small problem see attached image, when I'm actually racing this stand is unoccupied until I hit the 100 marker then the crowd suddenly appears but when on reply mode the crowd is there as in the image ? Hope there's a simple answer/fix

Regards

Mark
Try this way:
CM/settings/assetto corsa/video/quality/world details = maximum

Fix for displays overexposed:
goto extension folder
open livedisplays.ini file
edit with the red values in this section

[MATERIAL_ADJUSTMENT_...]
DESCRIPTION = Emissive screens
MATERIALS = displayboard?
ACTIVE = ${Newer_CSP}
KEY_0 = ksEmissive
VALUE_0 = 64, 64, 64, 0.1
VALUE_0_OFF = 64, 64, 64, 0.01

Thank you. I don't use new CSP versions so I had no idea how bright things would be. I simply copied some values from one of the Pyyer extensions. Guess I made them too bright.

That's the screens fixed, hadn't even noticed they were bright till it was pointed out. Still got the problem with the crowd disappearing.

I'm already on world detail max 😡

Then try this:
CM/settings/CSP/Graphics/adjustments
Set to default all values in sections "LOD settings" and "Adaptive clip planes"
(NOTE: white color are already set to defaul, coloured are modified)

I'm on CSP 0.2.10-preview1, so I've only got a few sliders none of which I've ever changed

I don't see it that way. It's just called "market value" and "capitalism". People pay insane money for those air cooled special models. Those 993 GT2's are the last hand manufactured Porsches and they actually are special. Just a few hundred made.

Overpriced? Yeah but what can you do. No normal car enthusiast can buy those cars anymore.
That still means they are overpriced to me, I want to buy an 993 as an track car but everyone of them are overpriced, and having driven an 993 GT2 Evo 1 thanks to an irl friend i still want to buy one, But it's not an car that i found to be at the end worth that much money. My $4K Nissan S13 drives better, out performes my friends 993 on track and costs less than an 993.

Friend got lucky and got his 993 on an killer trade deal back in 2019 and it totaled down to $250K for the thing. Which is still an outragoues price for an car that is getting clapped by S13's, Clio's and modern day Hot Hatches in corners :lol:

Great looking cars and sounds fantastic but the driving experience is no where near worth more than $100K regardless if it's an "air" cooled special model. Maybe if they were hand crafted by Mr Porsche himself i'd understand :lol:

It's not about performance with the classic cars. Any KIA electric car can outperform any 80's supercar today.

I mean who gives a crap about some acceleration numbers anymore? Especially after electric cars came out. A skyscraper elevator is faster than a roller coaster, but which one gives you bigger thrill?

Nothing sounds better and feels better and an air cooled Porsche. My brother has a 1982 SC and I love that car. It's the driving experience that matters and the analog, raw feeling of that car... and it's still well fast enough to have some thrills too.

If I had the money I'd get one, overpriced or not. And besides in the last 20 years those have been among the few cars that haven't lost their value at all. On the contrary they have doubled or tripled. Most new cars are unfixable, disposable garbage which will never have any classic value. Cheers.

More of an question to someone like @RMi_wood is any one interested in all of the Real Racing 3 tracks? If so, send me an dm. A friend extracted the entire game when the news of it being shut down came out so we have every single car, track and more just backed up. I got no idea if these tracks are any good but maybe might be of interest to someone to see if they are worth porting to AC?

I'm lucky enough that my daily commute includes a 10-kilometer stretch of mountain road. Do you know which car I've most enjoyed driving up and down those curves when the road was empty? Well, was 35 years ago with a humble Seat 127 with a measly 50 hp and 750 kg, which had tires narrower than a supermodel's ankle. It barely reached 140 km/h (on a flat road and with a tailwind), but I remember the funny feeling of going full throttle, gently drifting on all four wheels, at an absurd speed (absurdly slow), but with the SENSATION of driving at the very limit of what the car allowed.

I've almost never felt that sensation again with any of the other cars I've driven over the years, much more modern, powerful and faster, simply because they allow you to go much faster... and they exceed my driving skills, and instead of enjoying it, sometimes you end up feeling scared if you try to push them too hard...

Yes, I'm getting old...

Exactly. Another great driving experience that I had was a Peugeot 205 GTI. It's not fast by today's standards but there's no way you can get that analog feel of pure driving with modern cars anymore. It FEELS fast and that's the only thing that matters.

I've driven a Tesla Ludicrous and Panamera Turbo S and sure they're way faster but they feel sterile and boring in comparison. And get any new 911, they are so fast that you can't even enjoy them on the normal roads anymore. My brothers old 1982 SC feels absolutely amazing at 80 km/h on a curvy roads... the sounds, the feeling, the raw sensation when you switch and you hear that chainsaw noise of the air cooled engine... amazing. Take a new 911 and you have to drive 180 km/h to get the same sensation. Sure they are "better" in every measurable way but pure driving has nothing to do with the numbers.

Has anyone had any issues with Tommy78's DTM cars. I've had a few that looked fine in CM Showroom but then when you take them out on track their wheels are missing, all you can see is the car floating and it's brake discs. I know the Opel Evo500 is one car I was having issues with this morning, and I believe the Mercedes (I quickly ran through them this morning before heading to work so can't totally remember off the top of my head). I'm hoping it's just some errant CSP option...

I just tried to re-create the problem on my end and i'm just not seeing it. I would love to try and help you resolve it, but I don't know where to begin if I can't re-produce it. The crowds all work fine for me on both layouts using every skin combination I tried. I am sorry, but I simply don't have an answer for you.

One thing you can try is in the data folder for each layout, there is a file named camera_facing_old_crowd_file. You could rename that to camera_facing and see if that makes a difference. It uses the Kunos crowd file instead of the knicker one. Worth a shot to see what happens.

I'll give it a go and see what happens 👍 but thank you for trying, great track 😀👍👍

Monza 2025 (beta 0.85)

monza_2025_beta

Throwing this out there for anyone to try in the hopes to get a little feedback. I am concerned about flickering on the sponsor banners. I had to fix a lot of them and redo a lot of the uv mapping for the textures. I do not see any but i'm on an old CSP version and don't know if that would make a difference.

Don't let the name fool you. This is not a representation of the track in 2025. It's just a name I picked so I can separate this version from the Kunos version in my CM track list. It is nothing more than all of the mods i've created or downloaded for Monza rolled into one track so I can keep the original Kunos version 'clean'. It is a beta version (about 50-60%% complete) so you can expect to see some obvious mistakes and maybe some poor texture choices. Because it's based on the original Kunos track, you are free to use any mods for that track with this one, such as ai files, track skins, etc. The one thing you can't do is use a mod that will overwrite the ext_config file. That would cause some issues.

Credits:
-- @Masscot for the animated flagmen and balloons
-- Assets used from the monza2022crf version of the track.
-- knicker for the crowd files.

While this track is not as confusing as some of my other ones, I still need to explain a few things:

-- There are two layouts, the base layout and a raceday layout that adds sponsor banners in some spots based on a 2025 GT World Challenge video I watched as a reference. The raceday layout is best to use with modern cars because the sponsors wouldn't make much sense for cars 10+ years old. Also, when using the raceday layout, I would suggest enabling the 2025 Raceday track skin to complete the look.
-- There are three 'Years' track skins that will bring back certain buildings and structures to make the track more period accurate. For example, enabling the 2010 (probably should have been named pre-2010) skin will make the track look like the Kunos default version with no structures hidden. I'm not sure what will happen if you try to use the raceday layout with either the 2010 or 2013 track skin. It might cause some issues with new and old structures overlapping. The raceday layout was mostly designed to use with the 2025 track skin.
-- For performance reasons, I have the animated flagmen and live jumbotron displays off by default for older computer users. You can turn them on by enabling the appropriate track skin. Plus it's nice to turn them off when driving a practice session.
-- Last thing, there is a huge difference in how bright the crowds look depending on whether you use CSPs 'New spectators rendering method' so you might have to do some adjusting to the ambient and diffuse values in the camera_facing file. I have it setup for my CSP options, but yours may be different.

Have fun and hope to hear from someone on any issues you may see. If not, then i'll just keep plugging along thinking everything is all right.
Updated to beta 0.85. Use the link in the quote to get the update if you want it. No need to delete the old track folder, but disable any track skins you are using first before installing the update.

This should be the last small update for now, but I needed to clean up some things so the track worked correctly. The next update won't come until I make some significant change.

Changes:

-- Changed the textures on two of the balloons because they had Spa logos on them. Thanks to @Quark67 for pointing it out.
-- Changed the jumbotron display settings for newer CSP users to use the settings @Quark67 posted above. Shouldn't be as bright anymore.
-- Some night lighting adjustments for some of the bridges and glass structures.
-- Fixed an issue with the base layout not rendering the s/f line bridge banner when using the 2025 skin.

Totally agree. Isn't that exactly why we love mods like Bazza's? The same reasoning extends to real life, apart from the issues of exclusivity and access, which are the real addresses of value.

Should be another update to the LB shortly: race numbers/stickers on the glass and some model tweaks (thanks Fuzo), physics/grip overhaul (thanks graveltrap), twenty new skins and some old ones reworked/redone (me).
Also addresses the criminal lack of chocolate brown cars, which has been a source of great concern since they peaked in the 1970s.

Personally, I just want the LP560 GT3 from that game to fill in my late 2000s early 2010s FIA GT3 line up. One of the most popular GT lambos and my favorite from that era. NFS:S2 has one as well and is in higher quality too, but no one cares sadly. Would be a nice addition.

Yeah, I noticed this while reinstalling some mods recently. Pretty sure it's specifically the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 DTM 1989 I had a problem with, specifically the ones with BBS wheels, and I'm wondering if there's some errant typo or error in the skins' ext_config.ini that I'm not catching.

Ok, at least I'm not going nuts then!

I have all the car models also so if anyone wants to create it they can using those files.
I'd do it myself but i have sort of lost interest in modding AC lately.

It’s a shame we don’t get to see more Super Silhouette cars in AC. They’re one of the coolest in motorsport history.

Also, anyone know of good mods of SS?
