This VW Scirocco GC10 V8 is a frustrating car. How can something so gorgeous have had such a bad start in life?
I don't know where the original car came from but whoever converted it seems to have stretched it in all sorts of directions while downing a bottle of Scotch (check out all the ovals in the cockpit that should be circles) and left it about 5% too big overall. The cockpit is cavernous, even allowing for the wider wheelbase.
It's such a shame that this car hasn't received more love as it's a blast to drive and they look fantastic out on the track. Show me a car with a better posterior - you can't. Chasing a pack of these up Eau Rouge, through Radillon and along Kemmel is absolutely thrilling.
But that cockpit.

Anyway, to help it a little for VR I swapped a new driver in and improved the way the steering wheel is held and rotated, but the driver is now a little pixie. At least he hasn't got one snapped leg and arms like tentacles like the original one.
Also added a 7th gear as it previously ran out of puff on long straights.

If anyone fancies taking a look at rescaling the car and maybe adding a better steering wheel and other cockpit elements it might form a good base to restore this car to its pre-AC glory.

The One you posted is incorrectly scale the one by Assettogarage on Assettoland is correctly scale car converted from someway but just has bad interior model.

I have done in the past, some changes to the physics of this car making it a little more real by loading the real parameters of the engines that fitted v6 Nissan 370z and v8 of the corvette c5 or c6 I don't remember well now, abolished the traction control not present on the real counterpart entered the real dimensions of the wheels and the response on the track was really bad . if I find the data or the models I will be pleased to share them with you

Please do not change any parameters with other software. For now I've set is transparent = True to windscreen and also windscreen internal for Raindrops inside kseditor then imported to whole model let we see if it remains there. Then I've totally redone wipers animation 40 frames, resized and rearranged.

@Masscot I could no longer find them on the hard disk, fortunately telegram is extraordinary and the cars "modified" by me I had turned several months ago for tests to a friend, they should be these and with the right sounds, unfortunately I wanted to make only 1 car and 2 engines but I have not been able to do it, please try them and eventually we will implement this physics to your improvements

assuming you have CSP installed...

1. create a new folder "extension" inside your car folder
2. create a new file in that folder, save as "ext_config.ini"
3. paste the contents into the ini:
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE=1
DESCRIPTION= shadowtest
MESHES = ??
MATERIALS = ??
CAST_SHADOWS = 1
LOD_OUT = 1500
DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1

4.save file
5. test your car

This is not a fix, it will/should however pin down the culprit and narrow what you will need to do.

Thanks, that fixed it. Here's the file for anyone using that Brabham and needs a fix. Just make the extension folder and drop this in.

This must be one of the most underrated tracks in the AC universe. It's a masterpiece. Can't think of a track that's more fun to drive with a bit slower cars. And it looks great. Hopefully this post brings a little attention to it.

EDIT: Original track link replaced with a latest version (0.96). The skin and config also updated to work with an (unfinished) extended layout included in v0.96.

It's working great now, as is, and it is a fun and realistic front-wheel drive car. With the right amount of power, the front will "pull" you through corners, but too fast, and the car easily oversteers. Very much like front-wheel drive cars I've tracked, and my own daily driver. I also like the lateral weight transfer, both visibly and in the force feedback.

To be honest I wouldn't normally have bothered as things get ripped left right and centre, but this was never meant to be a released car, and as it was one of a handful of good scratch built mods, I think this only hurts genuine modders and they'll just end up vanishing or keeping things private in future.

Nope, just trying to keep good modders from vanishing into the weeds and keeping future releases private.
This was an unreleased mod that got leaked with no intention of being released so why should it make any difference if it's a pay mod or not.

I do have a version with four layouts as well, including the extended track. The grassfx isn't applied to the extended part, and this section could probably use a little "touch up" to add more trackside detail, maybe some trees.

...now if I only knew where I got it from.

Already did it and updated the links. I had deleted the extended layout 'cos it was so unfinished and I had totally forgot about it since. It still looks unfinished and colours are messy, but those extended parts are where the Grass FX really makes a difference.

Yep. It's a shame the track never made it's final release... With the missing cones I just navigate with my track map... Or follow the cars in front of me.
