Peugeot 405 T16 Pikes Peak Data Replacement have been updated to 0.72. Power.lut has been uprated to 650-13% drivetrain loss. ctrl_4ws value have been adjusted, instead of 3x now is 1/3. Also rear slip ratio have been doubled.

@benbaron @DaWallace Nice job with the M2 GT2. One thing though (and probably already reported) - the wiper pauses at the top of the sweep arc when wiping constantly.

will have a look on that , I will as well uptade all the gt2's to the new tire texture / ext + banner which got a lot improved visually on the bmw , dunno if u notice , small details but makes the difference at the end ^^

Or modders could, you know, do it for fun, rather than taking every opportunity to monetise their hobby by hiding things behind paywalls, often hyping them up like it's a whole new sim they've developed rather than just another slight variation on an already ubiquitous car... especially when 'their product' is a conversion from another game or an 'edit' of existing content. Makes me laugh when modders promote their payware cars on track mods that others have released without charge for the benefit of the community.

Personnally I don't pay for ripped mods only scratch made stuffs

Going back to the TA2 car discussion earlier this week, how exactly are these meant to be shifted? It seems I can just jam it into the next gear (h-pattern, correct?) with very little rpm matching and no clutch usage, and no transmission damage occurs. i haven't seen any 'pedal box cam' video on any real life TA2 footage yet, so I was just curious how these cars are meant to be shifted.

its a fine line....modders want to be reimbursed for their time but at same time you cant reasonably expect everyone to have the funds to support all the modders out there.

everyone has a different approach....for example I decided the best way is to release one free and one patreon exclusive at a time where possible. That way there's something for everyone to enjoy and also something extra for those who support.

jeddah21 (tyronne) version is very laggy on my pc but not the chq one weirdly.

but after driving on both... i can say that jeddah21 looks better but chq one is better for racing.

Considering they were working with data from US based TA2 teams, I would say the cars are set up deliberately the way they are. They were working with both race teams as well as the engine manufacturers to come with these mods then had TA2 drivers test them out.

That article really doesn’t cover shifting once the car is moving. In my view (having raced a bunch of cars with dogboxes) these VRC cars actually do a better job than most of emulating flat-out dogbox shifting. Most mods in AC force you to use the clutch, or at best to really lift the throttle to get a successful shift. A decent real-life dogbox will allow near flat-shifting (especially if there is a shift-cut sensor and logic built into the shifter and ECU respectively, but I don’t think that applies to the TA2), with the best shifting method being a well-timed partial (15ish percent) lift of the throttle while you slam the shifter to the next gear and then mash the throttle back to the floor (using the clutch during this procedure is counter-productive). Not many mods replicate this, and while the VRC TA2 may be a little overly forgiving, at least it allows you to successfully use the accurate method. I would speculate that they actually had TA2 driver feedback and tweaked the data to allow the real method (with flat-shifting perhaps a side effect).

To put it into perspective, BK's Audi gt3 quite literally uses irl data and custom physics and on top of being a good ACC convert is literally free

The only car mod that truly deserves to be locked behind a paywall would be ier p13, because that literally has physics features that 99% of people can't even use (hidden/undocumented)

Donating to show support is fine (assuming it's not a team like simdream/rtm etc.), but locking cars/tracks behind a paywall is quite asinine, unless they are able to offer something beyond the average

Once again. Just a small post. *OP was unable to receive a pm. Otherwise, he would have received the note. Probably best to defer any questions to VRC regarding the data (as well as real-world input) and how anyone feels a car should be simulated to them. I think if people come to the understanding that modded cars are simulated and not replicated, there wouldn't be so much scrutiny. Thanks to all modders who have done their best to make our hobby as immersive as possible.

Going through a lot of the stock tracks and making changes to their track config files to correct what I see as some mistakes in the colors of certain things. One of the big things I see on most of the tracks is the purple tinted groove and skid mark textures. If I intend to make these available at some point, is it better or more convenient to make the groove and skid mark color changes as a small track skin or as an entry in the ext_config file as a shader or model replacement that can be set active or inactive? I would think the skin would be easier for people to enable and disable if they want since it doesn't involve editing any files.
